Marvel Superheroes 2021 - Rumors & Discussion

You've got a good point. The last time LEGO included that helmet piece in a set was all the way back in 2017, so I think it's return is long overdue. -

Now that would be a great wave to get! All three Phases represented, inclusion of movies that never got sets, remakes of sets that would benefit from it, and an excellent variety of minifigures? I would be all on board with 2022 having this sort of lineup. As much as I would like to see characters such as Brock Rumlow in a Lemurian Star set or Heimdall and/or Loki in the Asgard set, their inclusion probably wouldn't be realistic without bumping the sets up to larger price points. And this seems like a clever way to go about releasing all the Iron Man suits. I'm rather amused that the number of CMF worthy suits listed would be exactly enough to completely fill out a 12 minifigure series Imagine if LEGO decided to go that route. Well, maybe in about a decade we'll have enough sets and CMF series to get the Iron Legion completed. I keep forgetting that the transforming variant is meant to be the Mark 8. I do hope that's not the only representation of that armor we get from LEGO, considering it's nowhere near a full suit. -

Weirdly, the previous Giant-Man and standard (non Quantum Suit) microfig Ant-Man we got from LEGO were released all the way back in 2016 for the Civil War wave. A Giant-Man build probably would have either made the set more expensive, or taken away from the minifigure budget, so I think the microfig's inclusion is welcome. -

I would be impressed if LEGO ended up making all 51 of the onscreen Iron Man suits as minifigures. Currently, 24 of them have been made by LEGO, leaving 27 unaccounted for. We are still missing Marks: 4 8 9 10 11 12 13 14 15 Sneaky 16 Nightclub 18 Casanova 19 Tiger 20 Python 21 Midas 23 Shades 24 Tank 25 Striker 26 Gamma 27 Disco 28 Jack 29 Fiddler 31 Piston 32 Romeo 34 Southpaw 35 Red Snapper 36 Peacemaker 40 Shotgun It's technically possible for this lineup to get completed eventually, but it definitely wouldn't be remotely soon. A set of the Iron Man 3 final battle would definitely get a few of these out of the way. If LEGO remakes the Malibu Mansion or makes more Hall of Armor extensions, that could also be an opportunity for more of these suits. I doubt the CMF series will feature more than 1 or 2 Iron Man variants, especially if the series ends up only featuring 12 minifigures. -

Hmm, upon a closer look, she does not seem to have it during the battle, but has it in scenes afterwards. The Benatar would have been a perfect set to include that variant of Nebula, but hopefully it turns up elsewhere. -

I should note that the QR Nebula we got, despite having a new face print, was missing the orange plating she had on one side of her face in the movie, so ideally a new Endgame Nebula would need yet another face print to be accurate. -

Such a set could also be an opportunity to include Gamora and Nebula. There really are a lot of potential sets and minifigures that we could still get from Endgame's final battle alone now that I think about it. -

I'm almost wondering if Korg and Drax vs. Cull Obsidian will be an extra set. We already know Korg won't be in the CMF series, so there must be something we don't know about, and Drax's apparent absence from the Benatar seems really odd if he's not showing up elsewhere. -

Hmm, what was the big complaint with the city? Uninteresting minifigure selection? Too many stickers? So many questions... -

I hope LEGO goes all out on the minifigure selection for the Daily Bugle. As much as I'd like a ton of villains being included, I suspect LEGO would also want to include characters relevant to the Daily Bugle itself. Perhaps we'd end up with J. Jonah Jameson, Peter Parker, Eddie Brock, Betty Brant, and Robbie Robertson for that purpose. -

Hopefully if the MCU Legacy line continues past this year, we'll get the Roxxon Norco Oil Tanker battle from Iron Man 3 as a set, which would be an easy way to get a lot of those suits. -

I do hope that we eventually get a remake of the Civil War Airport Battle. The Captain America and Black Widow minifigures from the Civil War wave reuses from the Age of Ultron wave, which was disappointing. Most of the other minifigures from that wave would also benefit from upgraded remakes. Plus I also am not really willing to pay the prices the Airport Battle set is going for now. -

If Mark 4 was a CMF figure, it would probably far more detailed than the Mark 3 we are expecting to be included in the Iron Monger set. A more traditional Iron Man design having a level of detail comparable to the polybag Silver Centurion would be pretty great in its own right. As for the most noticeable differences in the armors, the Mark 4 has gold highlights on the torso that are not present on the Mark 3, and the leg armor detailing is different. This comparison of the Hot Toys figures seems to do a good job showing the differences between the designs. I'm assuming that LEGO was trying to find ways to cut costs on some of the minifigures for the Civil War sets, as that wave also reused the AOU Black Widow minifigure, which in terms of inaccuracy makes the AOU Cap reuse look pretty tame in comparison. I'm assuming that LEGO would be more willing to invest in a better face print for Killmonger if he's included this year, as they should now be fully aware of how popular of a character he is. -

If the CMF is MCU themed, I sort of hope we get the Mark 4 Iron Man from Iron Man 2. It's the only Phase 1 Iron Man armor still unaccounted for from LEGO, but it does not feature in Iron Man 2's most set worthy scenes (race track battle and Stark Expo), so unless we eventually get a set of drunk Tony vs. Rhodey in Stark Mansion, a CMF seems like the most plausible place for Mark 4's inclusion. Now that we know that the Black Panther minifigure has a new helmet mold, I suspect the Dragon Flyer set will also include a new Killmonger with the same mold, as otherwise, the 2018 Killmonger won't look right next to the 2021 Black Panther. -

I suspect that Hulk could show up in the $149.99 set, mainly because it would seem weird if there was no Hulk in this MCU Legacy wave, and we know he isn't in the $70 Endgame set. He would fit right into a Ragnarok Asgard set, though I would prefer his Endgame final battle outfit. -

Interestingly, in the comments on Falconfan's post about the Endgame Battle set, he replied "maybe not ;)" to someone who was convinced Korg would have to be included there. Perhaps the $149.99 set is Asgard after all, as that would be the only other plausible place for Korg to be included (unless the $149.99 set is also from Endgame of course) -

I too would like to see such a set in the future. An Abomination bigfig could probably get away with reusing the 2016 Killer Croc mold. Asgard is definitely one of my top wants. If it's based on the first movie, I could see the lineup being: Thor, Loki, Odin, Frigga, Heimdall, Sif, The Warriors Three, and perhaps a couple each of the Einherjar and Frost Giants. Probably a brick built Destroyer too. -

I would still be at least very tempted if those figures were Iron Man Mark 85 with dual molded arms and legs, Fat Thor, and Worthy Captain America with a helmetless Thanos bigfig included. I'd say Iron Man. The one from the 2019 wave is actually pretty good, but the undetailed arms were by far the weakest aspect of it. -

This wave sounds awesome! Now that we know this is a full-on MCU Legacy wave, I hope they keep up this approach in future years. There's still so many set-worthy moments that LEGO has either never made, or would benefit from an update. I wonder if the $149.99 is going to be Asgard. Korg could plausibly show up there (along with potentially Miek and armored Valkyrie), without taking up minifigure spots for the Endgame Battle set. -

That would make for an interesting set, at least for the minifigure selection. Altogether, that scene featured: Wasp Valkyrie Scarlet Witch Captain Marvel Rescue Mantis Shuri Okoye Gamora Nebula Most of those would be variants LEGO hasn't done before, so I would be all for getting that lineup in some way. We're in the endgame now... -

Good point. I was also going by the fact that we're apparently getting a Far From Home Mysterio set, but that might very well be the extent of sets from older movies we get this summer. It will definitely be interesting to see how LEGO approaches future Avengers waves after this year, considering they haven't demonstrated much interest in comic-based sets outside of Spider-Man, and I can't picture them doing more Square Enix game-based sets, but there's also no new Avengers movie scheduled with a release date at the moment. -

I wonder if these MCU Legacy sets will become standard after this year, or if it's just a one-off wave. I feel like there's a decent chance it could continue next year at least, considering that 2022 would mark the 10th anniversary of the first Avengers movie, and the LEGO sets based on it (also the first LEGO MCU sets we got).
