Harry Potter 2021 - Rumors & Discussion
spiderfan2000 replied to Captain Nemo's topic in LEGO Licensed
Other than the Wizard Chess D2C, it doesn't seem like there will be any minifigure scale sets in August, so next year would be the earliest the Hogwarts Express could be remade. -

My current hype rankings: (these might change once we get more information) Hogsmeade (9/10) Wizard Chess (if more than the chessboard is included) (8.5/10) The Chamber of Secrets (8/10) Polyjuice Potion (7.5/10) Wizard Chess (if the set is just of the chessboard) (7/10) Forbidden Corridor (6.5/10) Fawkes (was pleasantly surprised by the Hedwig set next year, so hopefully this looks just as good) (6/10) Buildable Harry and Hermione (the lack of Ron really brings this down for me) (4/10) -

I wonder if we're eventually going to get a Ron and Dumbledore buildable 2 figure set like what the Brickheadz line did. -

A unicorn would definitely be great to see, though I'm not sure what it's odds are of LEGO including one, considering it was dead for the entirety of its screen time. Maybe, but if the $30 and $40 sets for August were both minifigure scale playsets, it would fit with how they released a two set wave in August 2019 that also added up to $70 together. This year would just have brickbuilt display sets and a D2C in addition to that. -

My speculation is that the $40 set is a Forbidden Forest set with Harry, Draco, Fang, Firenze, disguised Quirrell, and possibly Hagrid, considering I'd be surprised if he was completely absent from this year's sets. -

I'm guessing it would be a golden Dumbledore. Probably a minifigure scale Fawkes to go with it, similar to the Harry and Hedwig included with the buildable Hedwig set. It would be another opportunity to get a new mold of Fawkes in flight. Getting a new mold for that seems likely if they could include it in more than one set. -

My main worry that I previously had with getting a Chessboard Challenge set was that it would be too undersized to do it justice, but at a $250 pricepoint, that shouldn't be a concern. -

If those Cornish Pixies are coming in the Great Hall, that bumps up my current rating for the set from a 7/10 to an 8/10. Really excited to finally get those pesky little things represented in LEGO form! Hopefully the fact that these were not in the preliminary pictures means there's a chance a flying Fawkes could also be included. If the $250 set is of the chess scene, I'd have to see pictures to judge it, but a build similar to 852293 would definitely be impressive, plus that set goes for a lot these days, so a similar giant LEGO chess board might have a decent amount of appeal. -
Marvel Superheroes 2021 - Rumors & Discussion

If LEGO decides to do a set or two based on Thor: The Dark World (especially because LEGO skipped making sets for it in 2013), I hope this new bigfig system increases the chances of getting a bigfig Kurse. -

That is also an option, though at $150, I would hope the Benatar includes the pod. That's definitely a possibility. It would be somewhat funny if we got that version of Valkyrie before an armored one. -

I sure hope so. That would be the most viable way to get Endgame Black Widow and War Machine Mark 6, as they wouldn't fit in a final battle set. I'm not sure what set they would all fit in though, as the Benatar does not have a Time-Heist based minifigure lineup. Maybe a section of the Avengers Compound with the Quantum Tunnel platform? -

At that price point, I can't picture the set including more minifigures than Bro Thor, Korg and Miek. Rocket would just be a repeat from the Benatar if he were included, and as much as I'd like a casual Professor Hulk, I highly doubt a bigfig would be included. I also wonder how accurately they'll make the minifigures for that specific scene. Would Bro Thor be shirtless like he was in the New Asgard scene, or would they go with the casual clothes he wore for the time heist, which is more prominent and useful for recreating other scenes? Would Korg have the Hawaiian shirt that he had in this scene, or would they include his regular look, which he had in every other scene he's had? Would Miek include his exosuit, or would it be left out due to him not wearing it in that scene? So many questions... -

I thought the "funny set" hint was referring to the Sanctuary II being a $30 set. -

That sounds great! Hopefully LEGO takes into account that each of those Thor variants should have a different beard style. -

I hope we do. I feel like we've speculated practically every potential set option by now. Surely more information can't be far off now. -

That's not bad actually, though the 2015 Hulkbuster set that's modeled after only had 248 pieces (and that's counting the containment unit secondary build), while the Iron Monger set has 479 pieces, so I think we can expect a larger build. Actually, was it confirmed that the Iron Monger set doesn't have any secondary builds? I'm having trouble picturing that many pieces going into the Iron Monger build itself, as that's roughly 100 pieces more than the IW Hulkbuster set (which also had a turret secondary build) and the War Machine Buster. If there's no additional builds in the set, the Iron Monger build would either be even more oversized than the Hulkbusters, or at least have a lot of small parts within it. -

As a movie that came out before LEGO was able to start making sets for MCU films, it is definitely in need of some sets. Perhaps we could get sets like these: Duel of Monaco $19.99 Could include Whiplash Mark 1, Iron Man Mark 5 (repeat), Tony Stark (racing outfit) Black Widow's Infiltration $19.99 Could include Black Widow, Happy Hogan, 2 Security Guards Battle at Stark Expo $79.99 Could include Iron Man Mark 6, War Machine Mark 1, Whiplash Mark 2, 4 Hammer Drones, possibly Justin Hammer (the perfect face print already exists for him from the Detroit Steel set) Have Mark 4 Iron Man be included in a CMF series, and that would cover the movie pretty effectively. -

I'd probably laugh if we end up with a second Hospital Wing when we haven't gotten our first Madam Pomfrey. And be a bit infuriated. -

You do raise some decent points. There's definitely a number of potential sets I would like to see from past movies more than the Stark Expo battle, but I was thinking it would be a solid choice to do later on, assuming that the Infinity Saga sets become a standard. Though personally, if we got any set from Iron Man 2, I would prefer Stark Expo over the race track battle that is more commonly speculated on. We already have a good Mark 5 Iron Man that came out not too long ago, so a Whiplash Mark 1 would be the main selling point of such a set, and that version of Whiplash might be better suited to a CMF series where he can get more printing. Still, with how iconic it is, I could easily see the race track battle being made as a set at a smaller pricepoint, and the otherwise reused/less interesting figures that might be included could allow Whiplash to get more of the minifigure budget devoted to him. Iron Man and War Machine's standoff with the Hammer Drones also seems to be a somewhat iconic scene, plus LEGO hasn't made that version of War Machine yet, so I think a Stark Expo set would generate some demand. Overall, I suppose we'll just have to wait and see how the Infinity Saga sets turn out. If they are a large success and keep going for years to come, practically any noteworthy vehicle/action scene from the MCU could get a shot at being made/remade by LEGO someday. -

One scene that I hope gets a set in the future is the final battle at Stark Expo from Iron Man 2. Ideally, such a set would include Iron Man Mark 6, War Machine Mark 1, Whiplash Mark 2, and four Hammer Drones (one of each military branch variant: Army, Navy, Air Force, and Marine Corps) I can only keep my fingers crossed that these Infinity Saga sets sell well enough that LEGO is willing to continue revisiting older movies. -

I think a D2C Ministry of Magic would probably be structured similarly to the Betrayal at Cloud City set. Whether that would make for an appealing D2C is debatable, though I would be interested at least. -

In the 2001 Final Challenge set and the Mirror of Erised sticker in the 2018 Great Hall, the standard jewel piece was used for the stone, though they could definitely change it to something more accurate. A recolor of the gold nugget piece from the City Mining sets would look a lot closer to the source material. -

I wonder if we are getting another Stone Challenge set in August to go beneath the Forbidden Corridor set. It seems a bit weird if the wave includes a golden Quirrell but not a regular one. -

I'm definitely curious to see how they handle Daredevil, assuming he's included. Would they use a backwards Black Panther headpiece for the horns of his mask like how LEGO Marvel Superheroes 2 did it, or would LEGO straight up make a new full mask piece? -

While it would have been nice to get more new characters in the accessory pack, I think the most important thing is that we can finally build Quidditch teams for all four houses at a reasonable price. I'm almost certainly going to pick up a few of these packs.
