  1. Mars, Moon, the only difference would be the table cloth used to display these sets. Heck they could be on Europa or Titan. Just because the box mentions Mars doesn’t mean we’re stuck with that rusty old planet ?
  2. Your search skills are evidently superior to mine. ?
  3. Awesome. Forgive my newbness but what’s IG what can I type in google to find them?
  4. Lol two events happening at once which aren’t related. I just wanted to remove the picture because it annoys me so it must annoys others. But while we’re on the subject, I hope you like what you see and you will all support it ?
  5. Weird indeed. I can edit the words of the signature, but I cannot see the image itself. I cannot add any new image nor remove it. I go to 'Edit Profile', scroll down to the signature. There's 'drag files here to attach' but no option to edit or delete an already attached file. I am looking at this on a Mac ? Off to instagram now ?
  6. Oooh - what does it look like? Where did you see it? Hi guys - I know this is a off topic but how do I remove an image from my signature. I can't seem to see an option to do that in my profile. I can add more images, but I can't remove this one - ?
  7. I just found this on Ideas. It’s been there for a while but are any of you aware of it? looks a little Spartan to me but seems to be a good working design. https://ideas.lego.com/content/project/link/d20a3573-6e1a-4fe3-bb60-980d6c9b0dac
  8. Hi Exetrius. I’ve been playing around with “realistic bear-future” design myself. And I’ve also got an orange print ?
  9. The idea - as someone wrote earlier - that LEGO might be intimidated to do a Classic Space-like thème because of all the MOCs out there which look so amazing, would be disappointing if true. for one thing, most of these MOCs are just there for display. IIRC Peter Reid’s Exo Suit had to be extensively modified to make it an official LEGO toy because it kept falling apart. Creating a set that both looks great and can endure the rigours of playtime isn’t easy and is not something most “amazing looking” neo-Classic Space MOCs focus on. Right now, for whatever reason, LEGO doesn’t feel a dedicated theme would be sustainable. So we have 2 choices: 1. Use LEGO pieces to create our own theme 2. Eagerly wait and see what this forthcoming LEGO City Space theme is all about. I myself am doing both ?
  10. That would work for me, but I can't speak for anyone else. That's why I'm excited for the forthcoming LEGO City space theme ?
  11. I agree. We need more detailed builds, with greebling and modern building styles. I'd keep the blue and white colours of the theme that came after Classic Space, as it feels more modern than blue, grey and trans yellow, but I'd definitely keep the logo. That logo is so clean and iconic, it just has to be part of any revamp :)
  12. I was just about to say that! :) absolutely agree. That logo was simple yet extremely evocative and compared to the others mentioned above still feels modern in some way. It’s a timeless classic which the other space themes have not managed to outdo.
  13. I love that idea, Renny, and you might actually be right :) It's a city set, so it'll be a half-build base with one side totally unbuild to allow for inside play, so that will bring down the piece count. I'm not expecting too much, but am excited at the very idea that LEGO are venturing again into sci-fi, even if it's just City sci-fi for now :) Ah Exetrius... if only more had voted for my LEGO Ideas project... ;)
  14. I agree. I think we need to accept this and move on from that position (although I do like that particular blue colour ?) Don't forget that the City theme is getting space exploration, including a moon base, this year - I for one am excited about the possibility. And if LEGO don't make it to my exacting standards, I'll use their bricks and pieces to build my own, and see how they like it!!! ?
  15. good point. I think LEGO feel there wouldn’t be enough money in their own sci-fi IP so they keep to Star Wars (yawn). I tried a modern rendition of Classic Space on Ideas. It didn’t get much traction. Of course, YMMV ?
  16. I think what they're saying (could be wrong) is that back in the late 70s, early 80s, there were no TV tie-ins and the characters in the Space, City, Castle and Pirate themes were ours to do with as we wished. We made up their names, and had our own adventures. It was a "golden age of opportunity and adventure" But now maybe kids are more inclined to play with named characters? Like Star Wars and Marvel characters? Maybe imagination isn't what it used to be?
  17. I do like your idea! And that's what I love about LEGO: if they won't make what we want, we can make it ourselves. I too created a modern version of Classic Space - it didn't go anywhere on Ideas, but the photos are there forever. Hop on over to my website to see all the photos I took of that project :)
  18. Thank you very much @rodiziorobs, I'm glad you enjoyed it. I was so excited by this build I felt I just had to put electron pen to electron paper. :)
  19. Hey guys. Just for some I thought I'd publish from reviews of the new LEGO Movie 2 sets which are related to this thread. The first one is, of course Benny's Space Squad - https://captainmutantblog.wordpress.com/2018/12/30/70841-bennys-space-squad-review/ And the other is Sweet Mayhem's Systar Spaceship! - https://captainmutantblog.wordpress.com/2018/12/31/70830-sweet-mayhems-systar-starship-review/ Have a look if you're interested and let me know what you think :)
  20. I hope so too. Even though I now design my own Classic Space-like MOCs: got tired of waiting ?
  21. I'm with you danth, except for this one set: "60227 lunar space station" !!! ?
  22. I’ll reserve judgement until we see the pictures. Until then I’ll pig out on some space sets from TLM2 ?
