  1. Hi @TechnicSummse, many thanks for your posting - you have a good eye for the details In fact the chains were a little problem. On the first try I lost the chain even at an indoor test. The trick is to keep the chain tensioned. Therefore I used pulleys - you can see them in the video at 00:15. A rubber band pushes the pulleys to the chain. The 16t gears indeed work well without support. A 4L axle is sticked into the cardan balls with 1,5 studs on each side. This is enough to prevent local bending. I am currently away from my Lego. Some pics will follow next week Regards Leonard Goldstein
  2. Wow, first place - that is amazing!! I had a slight hope to make it to the top five as I put a lot of energy in my first contest MOC, but winning was not on my horizon … Congratulations to @Charbel and @MegaRoi - can you feel the champagne shower? You were both on my voting list. Though I must add my top votings were the Unrollable by @kodlovag and the Fire Ant by @Didumos69 (congrats for 5th and 10th place!). Many thanks to @Jim for all your work! And many thanks to all contestants for an awesome and fair played contest and of course thanks a lot to all those who voted me to the podium Regards Leonard Goldstein
  3. Many thanks for all these nice postings! And many thanks to @Oliver 79! Your yellow truck was an inspiration: There will be some pics and an LDD-File - but this will happen next week. Some other hobbies require my attention during the weekend Regards Leonard Goldstein
  4. Hi everybody, many post in the [TC12] information topic during the last few hours - @Milan had to move them to the pub It seems like some guys are really anxious for the results ... To make waiting easier have a look at this funny little thing: Regards Leonard Goldstein
  5. Me too: relaxing, browsing through eurobricks and a little bit LDD ... About recovering: I just meant that [TC12] was very tiring (for me). And at the moment I like to develop a new MOC without the pressure of a contest. Like you do I assumed. Regards Leonard Goldstein
  6. ... wow, this is a prompt reaction Each in his way is recovering from [TC12] Regards Leonard Goldstein
  7. Hi Aventador2004, very nice! Cool thing would be a Mini-figure inside the cockpit. It looks like there would be enough space for that. And of course we want to see a video Regards Leonard Goldstein
  8. Hi mocbould101, I saw that you are commenting every participant of [TC12]. Many thanks for this - must be very time consuming. Of course you are right: my special rims are not the most beautiful ones on the planet. But they have a key function for my MOC and decided not to hide them. Quite the opposite, I made them an eye catcher using the yellow spokes. The mission was to create enough space inside the wheels to put the L-Motors there. I hope we will see more unsymmetrical rims like the Porsche rims in future. The space inside makes it easier to create realistic wheel suspension. Regards Leonard Goldstein
  9. 10: 10 1: 6 20: 4 3: 3 18: 2 17: 1 Let's have a wacky race and a lot of fun
  10. Hi RohanBeckett, wow, 3 evenings! That is quite fast. The Highflyer took me at least 3 weeks ... And as I am a great fan of Power Functions: great to see that it can drive. I never expected that Good luck for the contest. Regards Leonard Goldstein
  11. This is a really cool idea and I like it very much. The design of the front end is great ... at the rear part the wheels do no fit so well in my opinion. Maybe you could find some rims that are as cool as the ones at the front? Your problem could be: the podium is not big enough Regards Leonard Goldstein
  12. I like it. So many functions in a small and beautiful design - well done! And the modular design is a good idea. I think this is a unique characteristic in the contest. Regards Leonard Goldstein
  13. Made my day Thanks! Maybe I can use this strategy for a low-boy I have in mind. Regards Leonard Goldstein
  14. Well done Keep the contest thrilling till the end Regards Leonard Goldstein Edit: How do you manage the deflection of the structure? Some support wheels in the middle?
  15. Hi Diumos69, this is pretty cool! You don't need any opponents in this race, you can do the race by yourself Regards Leonard Goldstein
  16. Hi Milan and Doug72, many thanks for the hints (and embedding the video)! Dailymotion.com offers a code for embedding, but it didn't work. Next time I use your strategy. Regards Leonard Goldstein
  17. Hi Jim, thanks a lot! But this was quite exhausting. Now I will relax and have a look at the other competitors. By the way: I really like the spirit of this forum. Giving a helping hand although it is a contest pleases me. Regards Leonard Goldstein
  18. 9. Highflyer The Highflyer is a very fast vehicle using 4 L-motors inside some very special single spoked wheels. No gearing, no friction losses. It is completely RC and contains an amazing number of Power Functions and pneumatics: * 4 L-motors (drive) * 4 Extension cables (as the motor cables are not long enough in the wacky position) * 1 Servo (steering with working steering wheel) * 1 XL-motor (compressor) * 1 M-motor (moving the pneumatic valves) * 2 rechargeable battery boxes * 2 IR-receiver * 4 pneumatic cylinders 2x11 for lifting the chassis * 4 pneumatic pumps in the compressor * 2 pneumatic valves But what is the wacky function? With its four pneumatic cylinders it can lift up and increase ground clearance to 17 studs. The Highflyer will pass (overtake) opponents in a unique way. And it can overcome obstacles if there are at least two small tracks left. An LDD-File is available here: https://bricksafe.com/files/Leonard_Goldstein/tc12_leonard-goldstein_highflyer/TC12_Highflyer_by_Leonard_Goldstein.lxf Video: Link to the discussion topic:
  19. Very nice! Extra points for the video It is worth to be watched on a BIG screen Regards Leonard Goldstein
  20. Great!!! I had to watch the video at least three times ... All my best wishes for the contest Leonard Goldstein
  21. Hi Didumos69, many thanks for this renders! They look much better than the screenshots I made with LDD. I saw all the pictures from your fire ant and they look great, too. The fire ant and the unrollable are my favorites in this contest. Regards Leonard Goldstein
  22. This is genius !!! If there are extra points for the wackiest stickers - you got it
  23. Hi Eurobricks, I made some very little changes to the compressor to improve stiffness (and hopefully the output of air) and now the "Highflyer" feels finished to me. So I decided to share the LDD-File: https://bricksafe.com/files/Leonard_Goldstein/tc12_leonard-goldstein_highflyer/TC12_Highflyer_by_Leonard_Goldstein.lxf Some notes for you if you want to copy this: LDD doesn't know pneumatics. All pneumatic parts are replaced by "space holders". These are arranged in a separate group and can easily be deleted (if you want to generate part lists). LDD does not accept the special rims inside the tires. They are placed beside the wheels. Get prepared for a great challenge of cable and pipe routing ... Regards Leonard Goldstein
  24. Hi kodlovag, I really like the design and it is wacky enough in my opinion (without hamsters) - I can see it on the podium If you really need to improve wackiness - what about some custom stickers (as the contest rules allow this) that work like this: Of course you could find something "wackier"... Regards Leonard Goldstein
  25. Hi Didomos69, yes, the vehicle can collapse while riding. In fact on an asphalt surface there is to much friction to collapse completely without riding ... During the video I moved a little forward/backward what did not look so nice - so I decided to cut this. I try to do better next time. By the way: the biggest problem of collapsing the car were the pneumatic tubes. They like to slip into the scissors and block the mechanism before the "normal" position is reached. Regards Leonard Goldstein
