Heroica RPG - Quest #147: Judgment Day
Siercon and Coral replied to Endgame's topic in The Heroica Archive
Siercon gives Corvis a wary calming gesture with his hands, in the "I can explain" motion. But is caught of guard by Charon's instantaneous rage, and says nothing.(Conversation then apparently rapidly continues) :P Siercon really didn't like seeing Corvis feel betrayed, or derided as unobservant, and sought to think of how he could express any form of verbal defense in his behalf. Siercon didn't doubt that Corvis would likely remain his favorite angel of the bunch, and wanted to remedy as much as possible... Siercon accepts her comment but does not reply. Siercon hears this, but makes a postural appearance of not quite agreeing. Still, for some reason he felt grateful for the words regardless of weather they were actually meant to help him much or not. Siercon motions affirmatively at this particular comment, with a "thank you, finally" attitude, but stopped as the sentence continued. "Woah... Corvis and I have barely entered and spoken one sentence to all of you. Yet instantly in you start..." He said looking at Charon. He then thought better of pointing out Charon's weaknesses in front of a crowd, as Charon had just done to Corvis. He continued stepping back and standing somewhat in front of Corvis defensively against the others. "Your judgement, Immortalis' judgment; and whatever punishment it is you end up thinking Corvis deserves, I will take for him in double. There is easily far more cause to praise him than to punish him." Siercon said motioning. "There were no lies left unspotted by the 'weak', but more accurately assumptions unchecked. And for what purpose? So a guest could become a servant, and a freeloader could become a hard worker. I will gladly stand before Immortalis as there was truly no ill will or premeditation. And as these are hardly the only sincere or even unconscious reasons, I would very much like to clear things up." Siercon said motioning to the Judgment Chamber. Siercon did not particularly like this idea, for some various random reasons. -

"Gralith, Siercon. And, I suppose I would be young compared to the many here." "You are very kind, and overly humble. Your 'limited' beauty, easily surpasses that of most. As for this feather," Siercon said accepting the gift. "As for this, I could hardly refuse, but It is hardly deserved, I am truly just grateful that these here (Motioning to Corvis) protected your kind. Sadly it seems as though I must go, hopefully we talk again sometime soon." Siercon carefully pocketed the feather in a ceremonious way. "Often I find myself respecting creatures like these more than people... I love the work you've done here, and I look forward tossing the lives which have been saved here grow into a beautiful future. Thank you for showing me around." "Sure, eating sounds fine. Might I join you?" Siercon asked. If there were to be any awkward conversations with Corvis talking to someone who might know he was a Heroican Hero, Siercon preferred to be there... Besides, he really did like this place, and had an honest hope that he could sell a "I just felt like I belonged here more than anywhere else, and figured I should stay and put myself to work." story considering he could mostly and actually believe it himself. -

"Thank you so much, I will try not to be too long." Sifting through his bag Siercon held loosely before him, a potion, a diamond, bones, mythil, and a phoenix essence. He seamed to be holding them in Corvis' view. "I'm not familiar with the Crystrow, I dont have much, but is there anything of these that he might like?" Siercon approached cautiously with a similar bow to one he had learned for hippogriffs. More out of respect than fear. "Hello, my name is Siercon, what is yours? Corvis had told me of your beauty, but I simply had to see it for myself." he added -

"Yes, indeed. One of the Heroica ambassadors, I do believe, is a Progg. The few encounters I have had with them have been well met." "I suppose a little bit. I do wish I had my wings, or almost any... but that is another story. These cousins you mention, they dwell here, as in 'this garden' here?" Siercon asked with bounce in his voice. "Could I meet them? Err... I suppose I may be getting distracted, and shouldn't inconvenience you... I am happy to be put to work, if you have other duties I can learn; but they do sound amazing." -

"Aren't we all... It does pain me though, to watch others fail, in spite of their potential for right. Falling below..." Siercon trailed off noting that these angels didn't look particularly unfallen... "Regardless, your question is a good one. I think off hand, without regard to if they can be found elsewhere outside of Eubric, I would have to say the Gryphons." Gryphon *Immune to Instant Kill, Blind, Sealed, and Asleep* Type: Flying/Holy (As seen in quest #104) "They are powerful, noble, holy, and would greatly aid in the growth of a new world. They seem to have the potential for higher sentience, with the qualities to serve and lead with the loyalty of the dog, the utility of the horse, the beauty and reach of the eagle, and the versatile power of a dragon. And all these, they display without many of their restrictions, and more importantly, volatility of character." Siercon couldn't help but feel like this might have been a test, but figured he would give his first thought. So, he tried to ignore going over ever possible rarity and evolution chain running though his head... Perhaps it would be best to save a 1st order species, or one that has the most potential to exhibit others, or... Regardless, he doubted it was too loaded of a question, so he simply looked for Corvis' reaction. "What would you pick?" Siercon Inquired. -

Siercon nodded his head in a half bow and spoke. "Why thank you, that would be most helpful. I will help as best as I can!" Obediently he followed and listened to what Corvis had to say. At an appropriate pause, Siercon asks, "So these beautiful creatures were taken from Olegaia before it was erased... I guess I can painfully presume there is an instructional story about Olegaia's choices which lead to their destruction?" Subtly, Siercon hoped to learn more about Immortalis' parameters for judgment. -

Siercon figured, offering a guess couldn't get him in any more trouble than he already might be, so he took a jab at it. "Immortalis erases... This is like an ark, these here are saved from the realms prior to their judgement." He spoke slightly vacantly, not looking too flustered by potentially being "found out". -

"I'm so sorry, I didn't mean it in that way, and definitely didn't get any hint from Immortalis that the garden was not under your masterful control." Siercon said seeking a tone which apologized for a lack of flattery. "It was quite the opposite, I suppose that's why I'm here. Immortals was needed in the judgment chamber, and while I was being guided by Charon for a bit, he seemed to be in a hurry to go somewhere, and Telethia seems somewhat busy with the Heroica ambassadors." Siercon hoped that mentioning two angel names would help... but then also figured talking to animals would only help with the ploy. He cautiously walked up to the birds. "You are both remarkably elegant, I've never seen such unique creatures... " He said using his animal speak hood. Trailing off at the end waiting for the birds reply, while looking back at Corvis to gauge his reaction. -

As Siercon walked the halls, he surprisingly took note that his appearance was very similar all of these angels. Towards the beginning when they first encountered Charon, he simply thought it was fluke. As the number grew, he accepted the possibility of pretending like he belonged... Siercon shakes the angels hand. "I'm here to do my best sir! Corvis? I'm Siercon." He said seeking to lead Corvis to believe that he was indeed a new angel recruit, without saying it outright. It wasn't quite a lie... Siercon continued "Apparently, I have a lot to learn. Where would you like me to begin?" -

Siercon almost followed Lind to the memorial... Honestly, he thought about digging up the remains, of what he imagined to be Imortalis's Dragon son.. and use the bone wings in a potential future class... Wings seemed to be on his mind a lot, even in spite of him doubting his winged warrior future. Regardless, he proceeded to the wildlife garden instead. -

Siercon figured, why the heck not... "I see we're thinking along the same lines..." He said. He dumped a potion bottle out, and filled it up by reaching under the fencing towards the water. "Yes, indeed it was a threat. Or more rather an 'declaration'... which is more odd. He needs something, even if it's just convoluted verification of his assumptions." "I will never agree with an 'all wise', and 'prophetic' being that holds permanent desolation to be a better option than a 'people sinking into the water'... His prime examples of the evils he has allowed to escape his purges to his own regret, are still clearly far greater fates than an eternal barren void." Siercon said. "Yes, a very gross picture indeed. Something I would appreciate you abstaining from around me." Siercon said oddly politely. -

Siercon had been silently eyeing Charon's wings, but then there were Immortalis'. He has four... A set to spare Siercon thought. "A shark infested, Coffee Ocean?" Siercon said. Siercon put up his hood of animal speak, as the Draconic speech started. "Among an infinite number of future possibilities, 'many' can be a meager few... can your great power only cause desolation, or has your prophesy combined with your judgments ever made a favorable verdict? Among this devastation, can show us what your prophetic wisdom has protected so far?" Siercon paused... He didn't quite trust Immortalis, but he spoke without anger, and tried not to sound insolent. Then looking towards arx. "And this child you speak to... how might one say, he may look like you, and then show us you will make him look like this." Siercon said pointing to the desolation. "Do we stand before an ultimatum of any glorious options, or just a self fulfilling prophecy with you at the eye of the storm which destroys permanently?" -

Siercon replied to her actions, "Thank you, you are too kind. I truly hope they grow from what you have given them. I think that was a selfless thing to do. " He takes the vials, and pockets them. "Indeed, we shall."Siercon said plodding ahead. Soon after however Siercon approached silently, trying to be respectful, and spoke so others around couldn't really hear. "Excuse me, and I hope you don't mind me asking, but would a remedy help your breathing, or perhaps alleviate anything?" Siercon asked offering the large crustacean a remedy. -

Siercon's eyes glazed nonchalantly. He was really looking past the ragged crew at the crates, and trashcan. "What's in those..." he thought. Contemplating to the clear din of the rats scurrying around, he wondered if this lot really had gotten that much gold from each travelers, and how much was left. He retorted back to his thought, with an audible mumble "Heh, they probably drank it all." As Lind spoke, he placed his hands in his pockets. Siercon was down for a fight, and this lot looked like the deserved it. He didn't want to look like he was going for his money, but 'placing his hands in his pockets' was really to fist a dozen gold coins. He was this close to saying "Here's your gold" and flinging the golden chips up into the air as a distraction to quickly jamming his spear into one of the crew before... "Oh..." he thought "Seems like people want to do diplomacy. logical. appropriate." He figured his aggressive inclination was from being rusty, as usually diplomacy would be siercon's first choice. Adding to the the conversation he spoke. Nodding to the drunk knight while facing the girl he said. "One man shouldn't make a decision, that you all might regret." following this he changed the conversation, adding some cheerful small talk... "Hey, no worries man, what's more money, when you have good drink. Am I right?! What's the brew? Looks good." Siercon asked, trying to seem amiable. "Though you've gotta tell me which is better, your bottle or his flask?" Siercon made an awed gesture with both hands palm up at the man on the right and said, "Do my eyes deceive me, or is that inscribed?" Siercon figured, whatever the reaction he didn't care... perhaps this guy would feel like his man was holding out on him, maybe they'd just attack. regardless, he thought if they attacked a man acting 'all nice', it would probably help swing over the girl. And hey, if small talk continued, maybe they'd just get to wasted to fight... Maybe... -

Siercon approaches. "Agreed" Siercon says in response to her words. "Dragons who lie under the radar for far too long often demand attention... often in more ways than one. He may need some encouragement to 'acclimate' " he said the last word with some sarcasm, but still clearly kept an open mind on the whole operation... The last time, he and his allies faced a dragon, they killed the wrong one, despite his utmost efforts to stop it. "Lind soon feels a spiny tail be slapped into his palm. It coils around his hand it shakes it up and down enthusiastically." Seeing this interaction, Siercon follows suit. Though he approached somewhat delayed, lost in thought about dragons from his past. He offered a semi caporal hand solid to the touch through a slight gaseous margin. He was always excited to meet sentient non human beings, though this expression was hard to read. "Apologies, It is good to meet you. My name is Siercon." Siercon was fascinated by this intelligent crustacean. Siercon found this funny, and did not stifle a small chuckle. This man would be fun to watch he thought, but not to follow. Siercon showed, that he fully agreed with Jinnipher, but strategically added a shrug at her talking of Lind. Hopefully the two of them wouldn't have the same problem she just addressed to these others" OOC: No questions at the moment, there are many new faces for Siercon. I'll try to read a few historical quests so I can refresh more familiarity with these particular people and places. (open to go ahead) -

Siercon stood silently in amusement, watching the interaction amongst the heroes, before greeting Lind and the Dragonlord with a "smile". In response to Karie's greeting he responded. "Greetings; and I look forward to it." Turning to the group, he gave a single nod of his head, as Thormanil spoke, and waited for an answer to Jinnipher's question. -

So Warlen and Alex, do we want to win this last battle or retreat? Cause I don't think we can beat them and have it be worth it unless we use at least your Phoenix incense and 1 or both of my bombs... personally I'd rather not get KO'd again. Thoughts? The gp from this battle alone could pay you back for the incense? -
