Siercon hurried into the Marketplace: ------------------------------------------ "Fabian" he said "I assume since you are selling the Robe of the Pongcanis Champion (Power +1 on the front row, SP:1 on the back row; suitable for barbarians and mages; bodywear.) for 60 gold, that mine, which is 3x better would be sold for 180 gold. Which means you'll buy it from me for 90? Robe of the Dastanian Pongcanis Champion (Wearer gains Power +3 while on the front row or SP:3 while on the back row; bodywear, suitable for barbarians and mages) "And if you can merge this scroll of sleep into my dark phibbian cloak, I would be grateful." Siercon said, handing him 50gold. 390-50=340 ------------------------------------------- Siercon proceeds to the Anwyl and upgrades his Spear from Lvl 15 to Lvl 17 160+170= -330 Gold. Siercon has 10 Gold left.... which he uses to buy 2 potions. -10 Gold. Siercon has no money... and his waiting for Fabian's reply to see if that changes.

"Certainly, it was a joy to quest with you before in spite of our differences, and look forward to again." Siercon replied. "Sigh, you know that I never lifted a single finger against any of your friends, even though they were going against our original mission." Siercon shrugged, "Regardless, I appreciate it. As for the deductions, I meant of me, and the shadow. Not your decisions. But you can believe what you like." "Yes it certainly is, and it's yours for a tempting offer." Siercon said with mock salesmanship. Siercon also signs up for quest 123 And then meanders to a vacant table.

Seeing Kiray's look from across the room, he approaches. "So, regardless of if we go on this quest together or not, we should probably talk." He offered. He spoke so Actaeon could hear as well, gesturing him to the conversation if he would like. "It's obvious from our last venture that the three of us have some very different opinions." Siercon said. "Personally I have calculated these differences as such, opinions. Perhaps you felt differently, but I left our journey without any doubt that I would watch your back, or the other way around in the future. I truly could not support the assassins actions, and continued to make every effort not to cross our blades with yours." He continued looking at Actaeon. "You seem to have made some possibly false deductions towards the end there, which in the wake of watching the honest dragoon die, I had no desire to amend. If you would like, I would be open to answering any questions you might have for me." "In short, as for our differences; I wouldn't want you setting the rules for justice, but that wouldn't stop me from risking my life to keep you alive, or joining you in enforcing them." Siercon finished hoping for a reply.

Siercon replied. "I appreciate the offer, but no. Use it to buy yourself a potion or save up for your next purchase. Gold is hard to come by when first you enter this world... Others showed me kindness towards the beginning as well."

Siercon wastes no time, and signs up for Quest 22, Invasion of the Sheep snatchers. Answering Karl's question, Siercon replies. "You'll need a bedroll so you can rest and regain your health when you are injured. Ah, and my name is Siercon by the way. Karl is it, I could not help but over hear." He said. "Which reminds me. Here have this bedroll. I no longer need it." Siercon Hands Karl a Bedroll for free.

One has to be chosen to go on a quest or participate in the fields of glory (essentially a type of quest). The QMs work hard to bless us all and create fun adventures. As you can imagine this can be tons of work, so the demand is higher than the supply. Thus, we all wait patiently and the QMs do a really good job of balancing characters from all levels and setting up a variety quests in due time. Long and short, patience and gratefulness is the game. It's like a rigged lottery, where they are truly trying to make it work out for everyone who shows mature commitment. They will announce who's in, and those individuals will proceed to that new thread. Btw Welcome! :D
-
Looking at the new hero, Siercon suggest "You might want to consider purchasing a bedroll from the marketplace"

Siercon also posts a list of items: ----------------------------------------------------- For Sale or Trade: Lullaby Wand (WP:8, sleep effect) 100gold Chain Scythe (WP:6, applies Enamored) 90gold Hood of the Dark Druid (wearer absorbs Wood- and Darkness-elemental damage; headwear, suitable for druids only) Best Offer Mithril Shard (1/4 of a piece of Mithril) Best Offer Robe of the Dastanian Pongcanis Champion (Wearer gains Power +3 while on the front row or SP:3 while on the back row; bodywear, suitable for barbarians and mages) 150gold If you are interested simply let the purple-ish shadow figure know, for sale, counter offer, or trade. -----------------------------------------------------

You can sign up no matter what level you are. :) That note was just to join their particular team in the drawing, It often helps quests to have groups with individuals of similar strength, so the QMs can throw appropriate enemies at them.Siercon enters the Guild Hall cloaked in a velvet aura, which lined his black shrouded form. Clasped to his back he carried a large barbed looking spear, which was quite disproportionate to his average figure. Gliding to the quest board, he signed up for the fields of glory. Seeing Purpearl Berthadhiell, and Matthias both near his lvl, he approached them. "Would you two like to enter The Fields of Glory as a group?" he said, waiting for their reply. "Or if you prefer, perhaps we could merge with Grey Foxer, Actaeon, and Kiray, as party of 6. It would probably make things more interesting, and may increase our chances to be chosen, instead of vying with them over a party slot."

Siercon entered the Training Room for the first time. (It's about time I updated my picture especially since I never wore or had any of that other stuff ;) "Copper Fox I presume?" Siercon said fastening the last claps on his new Magician's Gloves. "That is correct, how can I help you?" Fox said noticing the ridiculously sized spear across this mage's back. Siercon awkwardly dropped the heavy spear as carefully as he could, but it still landed on the floor with a heavy thud. "I was hoping you could teach me to become a Battle Mage." "Ah... Indeed." Fox replied. "I see lifting weights, and practicing on mannequins is not going to help someone in your phase." he eyed Siercon's ghost like appearance and continued. "Come with me, I have a feeling I know what might help." Siercon was surprised, yet somehow not at Fox's intuition and ability to read a hero he had never met. Dragging the spear behind him he followed Fox into another room away from all the training equipment, weights, and weapons. -------------------------------------------------------------------- Some time passed... At least only some time here passed. And the two emerged. "Well lad, looks like I need to shave now." Fox said laughing. "Good luck with your travels, and if you have any questions; you know where to find me." "Thank you greatly, it has been an honor." Siercon said sincerely. Turning to go he picked up the oversized spear effortlessly and spun it around several times revealing a purple wake of darkness energy. He exited the training hall a Battle Mage.

Siercon enters the marketplace weary from his long journey into the mines. 'Hopefully Delfrin and Duplovia will strengthen their fragile peace.' he thought to himself. "But for now, I must train and equip myself for the next trial.' He approaches Fabian's Fantabulous Fashion Boutique. "Greetings" he said breaking the atmospheric din. "I would like to purchase those." He said motioning to a pair of magicians gloves. 525g-150g=375g remaining He continued to par-rouse and found himself at Portia's Potion Shack. Gathering 2 potions, 2 remedies, he proceeds to pay Portia. 375g-(5*2)g-(10*2)g=345g remaining Lastly he makes his way over to Anwyl's Smokebeard Smithy I would like to sell these items: Norgh Axe (WP:5) 50g/2= +25g Shield (SP:1) 50/5/2= +5g Duplovian Sword (WP:3) 50/5*3/2= +15g (I just valued the items that are lower than his standard stock (5) as linear increments of 10g per lvl. I imagine an increasing curve is more accurate coupled with an initial item existence/materials cost, but ... seemed overly complicated. lmk if you want me to change the gold number, or if there is another standard people follow for weaker than basic items. Siercon sells the three items and gains 45g 345g+45g=390g

Heroica RPG - Quest #113: Mystery in the Mines
Siercon and Coral replied to The Legonater's topic in The Heroica Archive
OoC: Oh ok gotcha, I'll pass on it and it's upgrade then. I've added the strikethroughs in the purchasing post. Thanks a ton for leading this awesome quest :D I know it has to be hard when participation is spotty and you feel like it's dragging out. But, know that it was tons of fun, I didn't think it dragged out at all. Thanks again! :) Siercon started packing up his things. Turning to others he said: "You are all truly great warriors, and I was honored to be fighting alongside of you. I hope we can have many more adventures in the future... Thank you."- 356 replies

Heroica RPG - Quest #113: Mystery in the Mines
Siercon and Coral replied to The Legonater's topic in The Heroica Archive
OoC: Question. When it says stuns for 3 rounds on impact, how is that defined: 1. The impact of the weapon in an attack, i.e. any successful hit. 2. Or just the very first initial clash into battle. per opponent? 3. something else? Thanks!- 356 replies

Heroica RPG - Quest #113: Mystery in the Mines
Siercon and Coral replied to The Legonater's topic in The Heroica Archive
"Greetings!" Siercon said, he figured the legendary helmets wouldn't be there, or their price would change, so, he was still grateful to be here. "I'd like one of those Swift Halberds, and a hollow upgrade for this guy." he said, while deadlifting the enormous spear onto the table. "Heck you could probably fit 10 hollow upgrades in it!" Siercon said with a laugh 90% joking, but up for the possibility. 625g - 80g (Halberd) - 50g (Hollow upgrade on Giant Spear) = 495g remaining "You know what... let's put a hollow upgrade on the halberd and this sanctified Rito spear as well." 495-100=395g ***Since the stats on the Halberd were changed, I'm not going to purchase it and it's upgrade. Other upgrades remain :) 395g + 130g = 525g- 356 replies

Heroica RPG - Quest #113: Mystery in the Mines
Siercon and Coral replied to The Legonater's topic in The Heroica Archive
"There is one last thing." Siercon said, disappointed to be seemingly giving this letter away for free. Still, Rone knew the true identity of The Archer, and he seemed very competent. He supposed things would be safe as long as he was around. "I would like to visit your marketplace on our way home. My friends here have been before, and still to this day carry pieces of your craftsmanship, but I have not had the pleasure myself." Siercon respectfully finished.- 356 replies

Heroica RPG - Quest #113: Mystery in the Mines
Siercon and Coral replied to The Legonater's topic in The Heroica Archive
Siercon started, humbly interjecting into the conversation. "Sir, I respect your decision... I plan on holding this as security against the Archer in the future, as his fury of weapons is a fearful thing I'd prefer not to experience again without this edge. Perhaps even to get a jump on him. Still, Thalion and I could be persuaded to give it up." As he said this he gave a nod to Thalion, weighing his reaction. He, was carefully calculating the potential yield. Paying one person extra, would seem like satisfying a single selfish person, paying everyone extra seems like a scam... but two specific people... shows an accepted inter-party division of ownership, separating and increasing the value of the item, as well as doubling the personal cost in danger of losing it. Siercon showed the note and continued. "I hacked The Archer's secret cache and found this inside. You may find this an 'upper hand to apprehend', as these are not false leads... One, could find great value in it's (referring to the note) ability to: 1. Find him, as we know his next move. 2. Frame him and cause devision in the enemies forces by allowing this letter to be 'intercepted' implying it to be sent to one of you, showing him to be a double crosser. 3. Place fear in him as the mere presence of this letter in enemy hands, shows that The 'greatly mysterious' Archer's identity has been cracked. He who holds this letter, know's who he truly is, as the lock itself held the clue." 4. Help identify 'Her'... She is at the very least, someone important to him. 5. In addition, we now have a perfect sample of his penmanship... 6. Lastly, and possibly most importantly. This states that Rone has been suspicious of his activities. From this we can deduce that he is someone in close proximity to him (prior to our hire), in order to notice his suspicion. Beyond telling us that the employer is a Male, the Employer... Is most likely within the ranks of Duplovia." He then carefully studying the reactions of the Duplovians in the room. "Many of these options would help you maintain your priority of city defense as you have stated, while using little to no effort to pursue the identities and keep impending malice on the defensive." Siercon gave a gracious half bow or nod, as one could have considered it both. His last statement was specifically placed there for the king to have the option of 'changing' his mind and take heed of the others without losing face. This way, his plan would still be presented as the foremost priority. As he slowly started to fold the letter up and place it in his cloak, he waited and hoped for a reply to cut him off in his actions of putting such a letter away for good.- 356 replies

Heroica RPG - Quest #113: Mystery in the Mines
Siercon and Coral replied to The Legonater's topic in The Heroica Archive
"Indeed, unfortunately, both the Invision's alchemy and the Bonaparte's cannoneers, approach bombs far differently than I would prefer. So it seems as if I may be on my own." Siercon said with a shrug. "Greetings! Yes indeed we are intact. We have cleared out the mines as requested, and unraveled the perpetrators plan. In addition rescued both Donnova and Latcherson from the enemy. It turns out Morcrass was the mastermind, who hired a squad of mercenaries lead by The Archer to lead an "infiltration" on your castle falsely dressed as Delfrin soldiers to start a feud war. He successfully conscripted the Norgh in their plan to set your two kingdoms against each other and in the chaos establish a new rule. We have killed all off the immediate Norgh and Mercenaries except for The Archer who is currently being hunted down by Dovanna. May Delfrin and Duplovia continue in peace, which becomes stronger through trials like these... You however... might want to take a look at the lift they built in the cavern right under your castle . Seems like it might be a future weak point, considering this was their invasion method." Siercon said finishing off with a very slight hint of sarcasm.- 356 replies

Heroica RPG - Quest #113: Mystery in the Mines
Siercon and Coral replied to The Legonater's topic in The Heroica Archive
"Agreed." Siercon said truly responding to each one of their comments with the same word. Taking the contents of the crate, he then followed the others back to the surface. While walking, Siercon strikes up a conversation with the others. "I don't believe I've mentioned this, but I have keen interest in Bombs. Specifically Military or unique explosives. Would any of you perhaps be wiling to sell yours?" Alexander: Military Grade Fire Bomb 20 William: Bomb XX 20, Military Grade Water Bomb 20, Military Grade Lightning Bomb 20 Thalion: Norgh Bomb 100 (without unique properties, I'd only be interested if you'd want to get rid of it for well cheaper than the 1g per damage) "Bombs are usually 1gold per damage, but since the military (10 damage ignoring row and sp) have some extra flair to them, and that XX bomb is... intriguing. Would any of you be willing to part with them for 20g each?"- 356 replies

Siercon cautiously enters J.A.D.E.C. into the lock. A small part of him wanted the legendary hero to not be an assassin set on ruining the peace... But he couldn't help thinking about how adept with every weapon Archer was... and everything that lined up with what the Minors had mentioned in the legends.- 356 replies

Heroica RPG - Quest #113: Mystery in the Mines
Siercon and Coral replied to The Legonater's topic in The Heroica Archive
OoC: Siercon is actually now Lvl 14.5... Sooooooo close O.o lol Any chance we missed some cave spiders somewhere and anyone would be open to checking a room or two we missed? It's ok if not :P I'll live, just figured I'd ask :) Siercon searches the room. "I'm not particularly interested in any of the items." He said, looking around the lift area. Feeling inches away from the ability to wield this epic spear, he pulls out his magic compass. Meditating hard, he thought, 'Are there any enemies left?' Waiting for the compass to respond, he asked the others. "Guys, do you want to go back a different route? There may be one or two vermin left to be cleared out."- 356 replies
