  1. I hope that's a true hint, not just speculation!
  2. Does Lego have a good deal with their fabric supplier? Three of this year's Icons-style cars have fabric tops: the Ford Model T, the Jurassic Park Jeep Wrangler, and now the Jaguar E Type. Then there's the big cape on the upscaled Darth Vader fig. Not complaining, just commenting.
  3. I had to do that a couple years ago when I set up my Bricklink store. I've been too lazy to actually add any inventory ever since then, so I've kept the store set to Closed. Edit - after setting up the store I was able to change the mailing address to a PO box without any trouble. You can submit a selfie with a single minifig without any distinguishing features of your home in the picture, and that counts as proof of you with inventory.
  4. I mostly didn't like the diorama sets before, but that's actually a brilliant way to get the Landspeeder without it being "yet another Landspeeder" (even though even if it was, a 7-year gap is plenty for a remake) or one compromised by a Smart Brick. I just hope the price is right, because if it's as overpriced as the Smart Brick version that'll be disappointing.
  5. My comments on that list: Harry Potter is the gold standard for a full-fledged theme revival. A broad range across all price points and audiences, nearly comprehensive coverage of the movies and characters, repetition with variation for new customers and longtime fans. Still, the most recent Hogwarts system is more expensive than the previous versions, and has fewer scenes separated out as smaller playsets. Marvel doesn't really count as a revival, since the previous iteration was just sets for the first two Raimi movies. DC doesn't really count as a revival either, since the previous iteration was only Batman. As a Batman revival, though, it's pretty great. We've had an impressive range of Batmobiles over the years in playscale and in UCS scale, and we've had a lot of other Bat-vehicles. However, since 2021 it's been mostly TV and movie Batmobiles only, which is great because they're recognizable vehicles that I want to have in Lego, but it's also a mixed blessing because it means we haven't been getting fun, colorful Batcave playsets to go with the Batmobiles. Pirates of the Caribbean doesn't really count as a revival either. One big display ship (the Silent Mary) in 2017 and another (the Black Pearl) in 2025 are not a continuing playtheme, nor even a continuing display line. Taken as its own set on its own merits, though, the new Black Pearl is amazing. I think it's the best playscale pirate ship Lego has ever made, and I hope to get it on the next combination of double points and a good GWP. Jurassic World is the silver standard for a full-fledged theme revival. I'm not sure it counts as a "revival", though, since it's the first ongoing dinosaur playtheme that's lasted more than a year at a time. I think it's positioned itself well in the lineup as a theme that can absorb new material from new media while also doing its own offbeat, basically in-house ideas in off years. For me, a good licensed theme makes good, fun playsets that stand on their own with the license filed off, and I think JW playsets mostly do that. However, I wish they would do more remakes from older media; it's about time for another Indominus Rex playset. I'd love a remake of the Indominus vs Ankylosaurus set. The Lord of the Rings does count as a revival, since it's been an ongoing line of large Icons display sets over four years now. I wish those were accompanied by smaller playsets too, but if you're going to take an IP in the direction of an ongoing Icons line, this is a terrific way to do it. Indiana Jones had the potential to be one of the best revivals, but it was stifled. The three sets we got were fantastic playsets at great prices. If we got more Indiana Jones sets like that, it would have been perfect. Since the revival didn't last beyond three sets in one year, it's the most disappointing revival. The Simpsons previously just had two large display sets and two CMF lines. The revival has just one Icons set. I guess those are comparable volumes of product, so that counts as a revival. Unfortunately, the Krusty Burger set is far below the standards set by the Simpsons House and the Kwik-E-Mart. Very disappointing IMO. Stranger Things is one Icons set seven years after another big display set, it doesn't really count as a revival. On its own merits, though, the Creel House is a very good set except for the price. The looks, functions, and minifigs are all great. The one thing I would change is the blue van, because the space behind the front seats isn't accessible for play. As one large Icons set that amalgamates several older playsets into a "theme in a box", the new Spongebob set doesn't really count as a revival either. Still, if Lego acquires a license only intending to use it in one fairly large set aimed at an adult audience, it's good to keep it under $300 and include all the main characters. So the Spongebob set doesn't annoy me the same way the big Pokeball set does.
  6. I've said it many times before but I'll say it again: most of the time they're a fantasy here too. Those Walmart clearance discounts are rare and you have to jump on them in-store the moment you see them. They're not something you can count on, by contrast to European reviewers and grouchy online commenters who seem to think they can count on getting any large set of any size or theme 30% off within a couple of months at most.
  7. I don't want to say until I actually graduate, I don't want to jinx it
  8. Yeah, I think that's true. TFA and R1 were hailed at the time as refreshing contrasts to prequel excess, and they had a few lines of dialogue that were direct jabs at the prequels. It was only after TLJ was unexpectedly controversial that the sequel-hating, prequel-nostalgic narrative became the general tone of the conversation about Star Wars.
  9. The Lambda shuttle is one of my favorite ships and my birthday is coming up on Saturday, but I'm holding off on getting it until January. The last time a big Lambda shuttle came out, in 2015, a college friend of mine told me he was going to get it for himself when he got into grad school. But then he bought it anyway and then he didn't get into grad school. So ever since then, I've regarded a big Lambda shuttle as kind of a jinx on grad school. As for myself, I should finally be graduating with my PhD this December. I've told myself I'm going to get the new Lambda when I finally graduate, but I don't want to jinx anything by getting it early. Anyway, it's dramatically overpriced at RRP now, but hopefully it'll be on sale by January, so that's a rational rather than superstitious reason to wait.
  10. As usual, I don't know what Turtle is talking about.
  11. I'd like new ST sets, particularly a new Black One, but I'm not champing at the bit for them. When 75102 and 75149 were both on shelves, I got 75149 because I wanted the more "normal" gray squadron-builder color scheme, but now I regret missing the black-and-orange "halloween X-wing". That one really pops compared to the others! I genuinely liked TFA and TLJ, and even TROS had a fantastic lineup of sets when it came out. I guess as an adult, I don't have a passionate demand for ST sets right now because the ST already got very broad coverage when it came out, and I have most of the ST sets I'm interested in already. But that's coming from my perspective as an adult and longtime AFOL, not from the perspective of a kid or an adult who's just gotten into Lego. Also, there are so many PT vehicles and settings that haven't had remakes for so much longer that the time gap between 2015 or 2019 to now for ST remakes seems insignificant by comparison. Then there's the fact that my wish list is currently brimming with City, Speed Champions, Icons, SC-style Batmobiles, etc ... when my wish list is already way too long, I'm content for some other things I want not to be made yet, because then I can kick the question of how on earth I'll ever afford them down the road a couple of years.
  12. This was my favorite entry in BDP 11. I really hope to see it in another BDP series, selected for production. My copy of the Fortuna arrived on Saturday, and I'd love to have the Esperanza to go with it.
  13. With all the new slopes, curved slopes, and wedges since 2022 the next Delta 7 should be a night and day improvement over the last one (not counting Jedi Bob's version). I can't wait to see what the new one will look like, hope it won't be a disappointing simple refresh like this year's X-wing.
  14. Mine was delivered today. I had it delivered to my parents place in another state, though, so I can't be sure it doesn't have any missing or duplicate bags. Fingers crossed it's complete when I can actually build it!
  15. M&G has Red Jammer blow up the Hutt tower. Seeing that Easter Egg, I'm a little surprised the Y-wing rumored for next January is supposed to be from ANH, not Red Jammer featured in M&G as an Easter egg. After all, the last OT-era Y-wing was technically from Rogue One, not ANH, and it had a pilot in a dark blue jumpsuit instead of an orange jumpsuit.
