We could say the same about Kiel's LEGO mold.
-
This is really an interesting topic and it's entertaining to read all the unique pieces that many have shared. Good thoughts on the selection of pieces. Kiel's piece is a hoot! I'll go with the Green Door (3861). The door (in green) is found only in a few sets including Gold City Junction (6765), the Green Passenger Wagon, Holiday Train, and Scenery set. This represents my interest in Wild West, Trains, Christmas/Holidays, and scenery for my interest in building LEGO dioramas (esp. jungle and adventure-related themes). The door also represents my conservatism and can be closed to new ideas at times. At the same time, the door can be welcoming and open to creativity, flexibility, and adaptability; depending on my mood. The door is also sturdy and protective, straight and orderly, usually framed within the comforts of home, yet always on the move (staying busy). So, the Green Door is my LEGO mold for today. Great topic!

Monster Fighters 2012
WesternOutlaw replied to Darth Nihilus's topic in LEGO Action and Adventure Themes
A mythological Greek theme has always intrigued me as well. A Charon from the River Styx. Now you're talking! -
Sorry to hear about your troubles Athos. I must say that I'm really disappointed with my recent experiences with LSAH, esp. the level of customer service. For me, my issues have been related to the quality of their packaging (i.e. use of airbags / overstuffed boxes). This was my last order after having returned the previous set due to box damage. On top of this, it took nearly two months to resolve. LSAH was suppose to investigate and and assured me that they would ship a replacement with better care. I sent a number of unanswered Email messages and finally gave up after receiving the above replacement. Luckily, the set was placed upside down in the shipping box only smashing the backside of the set. I am now relunctant to order anything (esp. larger sets from LSAH).

REMINDER: Make sure you guys check out the Eurobricks 2011 Wrap-Up in the LEGO General Discussion and News forum. You may spot a familiar Train-related creation.

Monster Fighters 2012
WesternOutlaw replied to Darth Nihilus's topic in LEGO Action and Adventure Themes
While this theme is certainly for LEGO's core market, from what I've seen and heard about the theme, I find the line-up fun and playful. I'm especially looking forward to the Swamp Creature reminding me of the Creature from the Black Lagoon, and the Ghost Train. We've needed a spooky castle for a long time and the vampire castle may hide some spooky tricks and traps. I'm dusting off a few pictures in anticipation of this theme and may even break-out my Studio Monster sets. I'll give the theme a preliminary . spooky... -
Hi Spzero. Welcome. Hello again and welcome to Train Tech Maciejd. It's always a pleasure to have experienced builders join our LEGO Train community. I'm really looking forward to seeing your future creations. Feel free to share there here in Train Tech at any time. Happy New Year fellas!

A big thank you to all of our EB members! EB is the greatest thanks to all of your contributions.

Awarded an honorary Train Tech tag on January 6, 2012 for his magnificent Train Station.

Welcome Maciejd. I'm glad you found us and appreiate Kris Kelvin for sharing your MOC here in Train Tech. We also have a Train Tech Registry for introductions. Again, this is far more than just a typical LEGO creation, but a complete diorama with some beautiful details. The overall scene is truly impressive. EDIT: and for your fine creation, I award you an honorary Eurobricks Train Tech tag (seen below your avatar). These are usually won in contests or for special acknowledgment.
-
Welcome Legodjw. I've moved your topic into our Train Tech Registry which is intended to share introductions. Hope you enjoy the forum and EB.

Thanks for sharing Kris. Front-paged! EDIT: please let Maciej know that he's welcome to join our LEGO community. What an amazing build.

Train Station by Maciej Drwiega Many have seen the wonderful creations by EB member Kris Kelvin, but this time Kris shares a most impressive LEGO Train Station built by his friend Maciej Drwiega. This amazing LEGO Train diorama is one of those MOCs that doesn't look like its made of LEGO. See some additional details and read what others are saying about this truly magnificent LEGO Train scene in Train Tech.

I would also like to point out that if this was a Barbie, Bratz, or a doll forum, we would probably not be having this discussion. Most of us are male judging a more female oriented product-line. This changes the dynamic and perspectives completely.

I haven't posted in Town for a while, but this "controversial issue" is rather interesting. I didn't read the entire discussion, just the beginning and a few of the later replies, but I wanted to share my thoughts. I for one find the entire theme too pink for me (coyboy thing and all, but that's a different discussion ), but I applaud LEGO for adding a more feminine touch to a traditionally boyish market line. I work with a young lady who has daughters/nieces and a son, and she really likes LEGO (esp. the minifigs). A few days ago, she asked me if I had seen the new LEGO Friends line. I told her I had seen the theme but didn't know much about the sets or the line-up. The woman likes quads, cars, mechanics, and some traditionally "guy-related" hobbies. She told me that she can't wait to buy a few of the sets for (I think) her nieces. Beauty salon, ponies, whatever the theme offers is simply for another market niche of a more feminine variety. If that market niche is to target a more traditional feminine interest, then that's great. The option; as with anything, is if you don't like it, you don't have to buy it. I'm sure LEGO will find a lot of girls (and others) who very much love the theme and like what the sets offer for building and imaginative play. Don't tell anyone, but I would love to get my hands on a Dolphin Point from the old LEGO Paradisa theme (a little pink, but I can replace some of the pieces (like the stairs), with maybe black/brown). It's all good and if there are some who like the theme, then LEGO did a good thing. It's all about fun and if you don't like it, don't buy it. -my two cents.

Suggest you place an image in this thread for all to see. Some may have trouble accessing FlickR.

Brickie: you're fine - not a problem. The Time Twister Train was mentioned, so not an issue with you sharing pictures. In fact, it was good to see the train up close. I meant "mistaken" about the color and just a reminder to all that this topic is about the Ghost Train. Tearloch: thanks. Appreciate you removing the quoted images and understanding.
-
This thread is really not about the Time Twister Train (TTT) but LEGO's new Monster Fighter Ghost Train. These pictures; however, demonstrate why pictures aren't always a good way to show the comparison between shades of blue, esp. when the colors are close (as mentioned in the topic related to Maersk blue). The TTT pictured is most likely standard blue (or whatever LEGO is calling this color these days). Brickie: please correct me if I'm mistaken, but let's keep this topic on the Ghost Train. Much appreciated.

The price seems a little high, esp. compared to Woody's Western Train, but I still think it looks like a fun set. The airplane is an interesting addition. We've never had an airplane in a train set before, so a transport wagon for the aircraft would make a nice custom mod.
