I like this little coin bank. It does look cardboard, but still pretty neat. I may have to pick one of these up. I'm sure children would like something like this.

Excellent KK! I've always loved Forestmen, but don't have a single one or set. These were admist my Dark Ages. The faces that you've chosen look very good. Do you plan to build a large Forestmen MOC?

Nice KD. My only suggestion to improve on this and some of your other digital designs is to add some design to the flat roofs. For this MOC, I like how you created the small roof section over the 1st floor, but your second floor roof design needs a little "flare". Perhaps you could slant the black roof plate down a bit (like the official lego WW sets), or add some slanted roof pieces - my thoughts to make it look better. Oh, nice cactuses/cacti. I also like the sign. A Legoredo decal would look great on the 1x4 or 1x6 plate. And I agree with Asuka. A water tower would be a nice addition .

Yes, a good point indeed Jim! I for one always seem to be bound to tabletops and bookshelf space. Your fishtank idea is a neat one. I have thought about an underwater scene with an open fishtank (Divers/Aquaraiders + Pirates). I probably will never make this happen, but it's neat to think about the idea. What do you plan for your well-earned Warship?

Fantasy Worlds, Places, and Themes
WesternOutlaw replied to WesternOutlaw's topic in LEGO Historic Themes
I've got the complete collection from the 1st series, but am very disappointed with the 2nd collection. In fact, I don't plan to buy any of the sets with other great items from Lego currently. Buildings strunctures like the Asylum and the Batcave make a city possible - but too many vehicles now. One would need their own collection of black and grey to make something to house them all in (or at least something to provide a city/backdrop for them). I see you have the Asylum, which is by far my favorite from the Batman sets. Definately. Grave Stone is Wild West. The Dark City I had in mind would be more along a Gotham style. 40s Noir - interesting (Call of Cthulhu comes to mind, but more along the 1920s). I like the thought of detectives finding mystery, mayhem, and even the supernatural. Scenery out of Lego as opposed to table top? I'm not sure what you mean. Do you mean scenery on the floor? A large Post-Apoc world would be very interesting. Excellent! I haven't seen much with Vikings lately. The new Castle sets seem to have quieted the Viking MOCs. A Viking Village tabletop would make for a great diorama. Norro: I'd love to see a collection of each of the castle factions. That would make an awesome tabletop display - and a large one to. Excellent idea! I don't think it sounds childish at all; on the contrary, very creative and original. Not to take away from any of the other great tabletop displays like Castle, City, Jungle, etc, but your idea is very original and I don't recall seeing anything like this before. These are the worlds that are most interesting. I hope you build it and please share images if you do. Great ideas everyone! -
You mean the Emperor's Ship (#7416)? If so, that's a great little ship. I would never have thought of having it go against the Troll Warship. Interesting thought.

A new Ninja series I created...
WesternOutlaw replied to brickbrother's topic in LEGO Historic Themes
Welcome BrickBrother. Interesting creation you have here (the first one). I had not seen the combination of a skull and roof pieces before. It works and makes for a neat jungle temple Ninja hideout. Also interesting is the use of one of the green Rainbow Knight from Knights Kingdom (I forgot who is who). The box art looks good, esp the jungle in the picture. Just as a photo-tip, you might want to take the image at a more level angle rather than looking down on it. It helps when you go to place the image in the background. I like the Samurai cart a lot. I notice the Chinese hat in the back (nice touch). Overall, a great addition to the Ninja collection. And welcome to EB again. Hope to see you posting regularly now that your a member. -
I think it would make for a great battle. Did you loose the pieces?

There's a special place in the church for those who donate gernerously. Certainly, you can take a sip... for medicinal purposes only, you know. Or the Devil uses Doctor tools! Either way, Satan is among us. (drinks a swag of ale). -

The Church thanks you for your gracious and generous donations. May your loyalty be rewarded 1,000 times over. (immediately places filled basket back in robe) What is this? Such tools are the making of the Devil. I shall be watching you very closely as well. -

I bless thee, and pray that your death is quick. May the Church and the Kingdom grant mercy on your soul. All those who wish to have a drink on me, please step forward (pulls a large bottle of ale from robe). Spirits anyone? Not so fast Lord Martin . You'll have to sit this round out. GLORIA PATRI, et Filio, et Spiritui Sancto. Sicut erat in principio, et nunc, et semper, et in saecula saeculorum, etc... etc... Amen. (Burp ) -
Neat figs KD. You should have a town full of these folks by now. What I really like and sometheing that I have not tried, is the bottles. This is a great idea for Snake Oil or Wild West Tonic containers. Clever!

Mystery Castle - Day 1
WesternOutlaw replied to Dragonator's topic in LEGO Mafia and Role-Play Games
The Lord works in mysterious ways . We shall know the truth as the evil spirits are cast out of his body. If he was telling the truth, his death shall serve as an example of how deceipt and lies (not to forget meager tidings) shall invite the Devil to feast upon the soul. I bless him in the name of King Dracus and the Church. (Pulls a small basket from his robe) Tidings anyone? Tidings? For the Church... Blessed art thou who gives generously. -
Thanks. I had not seen this as I don't usually visit the Pirate Forum, but thanks for sharing. I was curious as to how the Troll Warship would look next to a Classic Pirate ship. I'd love to see one with some bright blue Crownie colors. Good thought. Interesting. I'd love to see the finished product. Don't feel bad. I only have a small table that I usually display a single theme at any given time on. I don't like a lot of Lego on the bookshelves collecting dust. Yes. Definately! Lots of room for legions of Trolls. I would not mind seeing a good battle between the Skeleton Ship and the Troll Warship. I like the Skellie ship a lot and it looks cool on a water/dark blue platform. Neat! I'd like to see that when you get them set up. Great thoughts. I'd really like to see the Troll Warship battling the Viking Longboat. I could be wrong, but I think the ships are similar in size. Everyone: post pictures of your sea battles when you get them set up.

Sea Battle - Black Seas Barracuda vs Troll Warship
WesternOutlaw replied to Captain Cavinano's topic in LEGO Pirates
It's great to see that someone has created a battle between the Troll Warship and a Pirate vessel. I had started this post yesterday, Epic Lego Sea Battles not realizing that this thread was out here (I don't usually visit the Pirate Forum). I knew someone would create a great battle, and it looks rather slick. Even the Troll Warship is dwarfed by the beauty of the Black Sea Barracuda. This post deals with other Sea Battles and what Castle/Adventure fans plan for the new Troll Warship: Epic Lego Sea Battles in History & Adventure Forum. PS. I'm not sure about the puppy dog bedding though. -
Mystery Castle - Day 1
WesternOutlaw replied to Dragonator's topic in LEGO Mafia and Role-Play Games
Words spoken through the forked tonge of the Devil; he continues his defiance of truth until the end. Tell us of Mike? Has he conspired with you to bring down the King? The truth shall set you free! Lies will take you to a place called Grave Stone Hell, where your soul shall rot for an eternity among the demons, devils, and creatures of evil. -
Mystery Castle - Day 1
WesternOutlaw replied to Dragonator's topic in LEGO Mafia and Role-Play Games
Thou shall not cheat the church out of weekly tidings, my son. While you are angry, you should make your amends with our Lord and Savior, for only he will judge in the end. Now bow before Him so he shall grant forgiveness to the soul. You may also tell us what you know of King Dracus's murder and those that have conspired against him. Say the truth now, my son, and I shall pray for your everlasting soul. Let he who repents be lifted by the Angels and granted access through the gates of Heaven. -
Batbrick: This is truly a beautiful MOC, and I have to agree with those who've said this is your best creation. It's absolutely fabulous! First, the colors work wondefully. The combination of dark grey, black roof pieces, and the new dark tan baseplate (from the Crystal Skull Temple) blend in very nicely. The colors are then complimented by the green foliage that you've placed in very good locations to balance the MOC. I esp. like the palm leaves at the door/entrance to the temple. Some features that are very creative and add to the great detail include the numerous arches with skulls (I have a thing for skulls! :pir-skull: ), the Islander shields (excellent!), and the temple deity statue to the right (very nice how you incorporated it into the MOC). I almost did not spot the face until I looked closer. The exterior is complimented by the detailed interior. Love the throne room! - esp the tiled floor. The trap looks great as well! Overall, this is an outstanding MOC, the best Temple that I've seen, and a great Indiana Jones add-on. I hope to see it placed in a jungle setting where I think it would look great! This definately deserves two thumbs up . Excellent!

Mystery Castle - Day 1

Lady Suzanne. Where art thou? I think you should tell us what you know of the King's death? -
I picked up the Troll Ship a few days ago, although I have not put it together yet. I was wondering if any of you have, or are planning to create an epic sea battle with the Troll Ship? Perhaps the Troll Ship vs. the Viking Longboat, or even a war between the Troll Ship and Skeleton Ship? I think the Troll Ship offers some great opportunities for an epic Lego sea battle. One of the larger pirate ships might also make for an interesting battle. What are your plans for the Troll Ship?

Thank you my son. The Church shall bless you with positive spirits. And a small spirit is always good for the soul (pulls out a small flask from his brown robe) - don't mind if I do. To the King, may his soul find Heaven, quicker than liquor. BURP! -

You dare question the piety of the pious? I will be watching you closely, my son . So be it, the Church I vote Lord Martin the Frugal. And what evil spirits keep following me below my written words? Oh, I must have forgotten to mention my last thought. Where is the Lazy Lady Suzanne? She is no "Lady" if I shall sayeth. The Church has asked that I question her.
