This set was a must-have for me, but since I built it it's just sat on the windowsill with the rest of my TIEs. Nice model, if a little too wide - but if we look at the actual design of the vessel (this is not a criticism of the LEGO kit as it is what it is, a representation of the "real" thing) - as a Tank it's kind of rubbish, I know it has flip-out cannon in the sides but Tanks should have turrets - in order to really assault everything the TIE Crawler has to charge head-on and even then it can only hit things at a low level - who the heck designed that? paradisa 6404 alternate model: WWI era artillery gun
Doctor Sinister replied to Tanotrooper's topic in LEGO Town
Brilliant! He must have gotten bored with the beautiful life and decided to take over - I'd say that makes him King of Paradisa...unless it simply starts an arms race. The horror...the horror... Dr. S. -
Is this Real LEGO Brand or not?
Doctor Sinister replied to Shadows's topic in General LEGO Discussion
Burn it! Burn it! Some misguided soul bought my son some Megablocks for his birthday...I refuse to let it near Tabletown for fear of contamination... Dr. S. -
Firefox primarily. I have no instability issues with it at all. I once did a load time test on some forums where I am an Administrator and IE was taking up to 16 times longer to load single pages. However, I also work on websites for a living so I'm often forced to use IE to do some online editing as FF is not so good for that - it hates WordPress for example and dumps odd code in there. :-( Shame, as it's SO fast. I also use Opera on my Nintendo Wii and Safari just to view some pages I've worked on to make sure all major platforms are displaying them properly. Dr. S.

2007 Castle Line: The conclusion
Doctor Sinister replied to Batbrick's topic in LEGO Historic Themes
Ideally you need a large grey baseplate - I think that would fit nicely, but I'm fresh out of those right now so I put a smaller green plate in the middle - it's wide enough for the back and front of the Castle to click on, and then I filled in the gaps to both sides with green plates and reinforced those underneath. Small piccy: To account for the small gap that then appeared around the entire edge of the castle, it's been filled with 2x1 grey plates, essentially raising the height of the whole castle by 1/3 brick height - I'll probably replace it with a large grey plate when I get some in which will hopefully save on having to mess around quite so much. And, my children are a little too small to build sets like this right now - plus, I'm very protective of my LEGO! They have their own, and occasionally I'll allow them to play with Tabletown, but the building is my privilege. :-D Dr. S. -
2007 Castle Line: The conclusion
Doctor Sinister replied to Batbrick's topic in LEGO Historic Themes
I bought the Castle today - and magnificent it is too. Just the Skellie ship to go! I've added a baseplate to the middle and installed the jousting equipment in there - I think it makes it more playable. Can't wait for my kids to wake up and see it, they'll have a blast. I've manned the Castle ready for an attack - there's some ominous lightning in the distance... *skull* Dr. S. -
Imperial Dropship MOC - Brickshelf Find!
Doctor Sinister replied to john cleese's topic in LEGO Star Wars
I knew that front hinged open...I could just tell. Damn shame it's not a real set tho. :-( Dr. S. -
My eyes are popping out of my head! Awesome! Are you going to get different heads for all the Infantrymen? Dr. S.

2007 Castle Line: The conclusion
Doctor Sinister replied to Batbrick's topic in LEGO Historic Themes
I think this year's Castle line is simply fantastic - as a devotee of Town, Star Wars and wild West, I never would have predicted that by the end of the year I'd have nearly a complete Castle range - and that I'd be planning on scooping up the final two sets within a matter of weeks. I think the Skellie horses are inspired and although I also think the Skellie arms aren't quite right, I still love the figures themselves. As for the Dragon - it's gorgeous, and it's taken up near permanent residence on my desk. My children love it too. Dr. S. -
Imperial Dropship MOC - Brickshelf Find!
Doctor Sinister replied to john cleese's topic in LEGO Star Wars
You make a good point there, but there is the possibility that the whole top/front of the cockpit might hinge forward? Dr. S. -

Wow! A Stormtrooper transport! Just like the one in the X-Wing PC games. Looks very good, I'd snap loads of those up if that were an official set. Dr. S. -
Yeah, "invisible thread" rules. Dr. S.

Weekly happenings in Tabletown are documented on the News page. Recent events include a Superhero protest, a new Wizard Tax and the arrival of clouds... Dr. S.

Here's the latest picture of Tabletown (click for a larger version): More pix at the Tabletown website - there's a link in my sig, but it's here: http://www.tabletown.co.uk Dr. S.

That can't be right - I'd get a replacement. Unless it's likely to be worth loads of money of course. :-) Can we see some pictures please? Dr. S.

Exclusive EB Review: 7093 - Skeleton Tower
Doctor Sinister replied to Starwars4J's topic in LEGO Historic Themes
I know I'm late to this discussion but I'm in the middle of building this set right now and I've just absolutely fallen in love with the dragon - it is SO cool, super-poseable, I just think it's great. At the moment it's roaring in defiance on my desk and I think I've found a new monster with which to threaten Tabletown. Dr. S. -
I do like that VW van - and the dark American car is very nice too. I may have to place an order! Dr. S.

I want one! With the matching tailfins from the recent plane releases, it fits perfectly. Dr. S.

I have all my instructions in plastic wallets kept in lever-arch files by theme. I also keep anything LEGO related - catalogues, flyers etc. Dr. S.

For me, sets are generally used permanently as part of Tabletown (town sets, of course) or on display in my office (Star Wars for the most part). Any sets not on display (of which there are a lot, mostly Star Wars or WW but lots of other misc sets too) are semi-taken apart, bagged individually and stored in stackable crates. For my miscellaneous parts - small and/or commonly used pieces go into small ziplock bags by type - eg: 1x1 studs, Minifig weapons/tools, printed tiles, gold coins, hinge pieces etc. These small bags get stored in a LEGO biscuit tin. :-) Larger pieces also go into larger ziplock bags - firstly by type and then by colour if there is enough to justify it. So, for example, I have all my Technic pieces in one bag as I don't have a great deal of it and I'm not really into Technic - so that's a couple of thousand pieces in one bag, but bricks and plates etc. have bags for each colour - so I have bags of red bricks, red plates etc etc, each one probably has up to a couple of hundred pieces in it. All those bags are stored in stackable crates alongside the sets I mentioned above, and all this is stored beneath Tabletown itself out of harm's way. Dr. S.

I have most of the WW sets - all bagged up in crates here - this thread is the final straw, I'm going to break them out and rebuild them over the weekend - I forgot how much fun they were. Dr. S.

The lizard looks the best to me - put him in a town and you've got a monster terrorising the residents. Dr. S.
