  1. Yes! And to contribute forces if there is a global war, peace-keeping mission, alien invasion, etc. :-D Dr. S.
  2. Hmmm...how are you fixed a week on Thursday? :-D Dr. S.
  3. In response to an era of heightened aggression from clone brands, and global uncertainty, it has become clear to Mr Stauder and myself that we need to form a defensive LEGO force to repel invaders and keep the peace. Given that Tabletown has a large military force, steadily growing by the day, and that Mr Stauder has a highly capable fleet of Tanks and Troops, we are forming the core of this multinational taskforce which will be known as the EN - the Eurobricks Nations! Be not alarmed by the title for those members not part of the EU - membership is open to all military forces from around the world. Our charter will be to defeat clone brands, defend our borders, keep the LEGO faith and above all, prevent conflict between our great LEGO nations. (Any suggestion that this is an effort by me to take over the world and install a military dictatorship with absolute power and me at its head will be met with immediate and stringent litigation. :-D :-D ) Mr Stauder is drawing up our logo, but I invite all military LEGO nations to join our organisation! To VICTORY! Dr. S.
  4. Wasn't sure on the plate to be honest, but the others were new to me - nice pieces though. The hinge plate is chunkier than others I have - it has raised sections and isn't as smooth. You can see it best at the back here: Dr. S.
  5. Thanks for the feedback on the review, hope I did the set proud - it's become one of my top three because it is so...perfect. Some pix as requested. 1) New pieces? I've not seen them before...? 2) The underside of the car - just because I wanted to show you the pieces under there. 3) The wheel sections. Not sure if the middle piece is new or not. 4) As requested, a picture of the truck with the canvas hood off. Dr. S. I agree entirely. There are three. Sorry, I keep forgetting it's here. Thanks. Thanks Badger! :-$ I suppose it could be another top underneath - but given that these guys are in the desert - would you want to be wearing two shirts? :-D The colour isn't quite the same as the head and hands and it would be easy enough to dismiss on that basis if you wanted to use yellow minifig parts. Found in Toys R Us here in Basingstoke, UK - it seems a lot of TRUs in the UK have them now. I think the ark is in another set. Dr. S.
  6. A quick experiment just now suggests not - but I wouldn't like to vouch for the long-term stability if you used it like the "real" Indy. :-D Dr. S.
  7. It does uncurl and the end is sort of flared into a small block shape so you can hook it onto things, but if it's left to its own devices it curls up again immediately - so it's not posable or anything. Dr. S.
  8. Ah, OK, thanks, I was holding off as I thought you might have bought 7622 and would want to do a thingy. Right then chaps, my review is here! Dr. S.
  9. Well, this is my first ever set review, and I'm not entirely sure what to do, but here goes... I had to upgrade my hosting package for the Tabletown website last night as it's become so popular I'd exhausted my monthly bandwidth allowance - and so I've put duplicate pix on Flickr which was just as well as the full set of pix has had over 90 viewings in the last few hours! This is of course a scene from the first movie - Raiders of the Lost Ark, but I'll confess it's been some years since I saw it. Here's the box, front and back: The back of the box shows a neat sequence of Indy grabbing the front of the truck and sliding under it and down its length - note the number of grab handles he has to do this! (sorry about the glare, never taken box art pix before) Here's the supply truck: Note the GOLD chest in the back! More of this later... The mudguards and wheelarches are masterfully crafted with little "wing" pieces. The entire chassis is built up from plates - aside from the cabin base, there are NO <insert that tiresome argument> parts here. Note also the silver 1x1 studs - there are a LOT of these, at the side they look like suspension springs. A view from dead-on front, it looks a little narrow to me here. The canvas hood to the rear is attached with technic pins and held in place by a new piece I personally haven't seen before: And here's the car: Again, it's all plates, no large pieces Mudguards/wheelarches are formed in the same way - no specialised pieces for those here, it's really nicely done IMO. And here's Indy himself on his horse: The complete set: The minifigs! The Afrika Korps torso is excellent and will be mega-useful I'm sure for military builders like myself, but one word of warning - that little patch of skin showing beneath the shirt is peachy-fleshie skin, NOT yellow! Here's that gold crate: In summary, I absolutely adore this set - you get four really cool minifigs, some weapons, a GOLD crate, lots of nice pieces and TWO - count them - TWO military vehicles! And the price isn't too bad either - 24.99. I will definitely be buying at least one more of these for the troops and vehicles. Like I say, this is my first review, I held off as I thought Vader was doing one and as you can see it's not a building review as I've already built it - but if there's anything I've missed or you want to see more pix of certain items let me know, although I'm off to bed right now. :-) Dr. S.
  10. As in...to eradicate. Dr. S.
  11. Spinning Jenny. :-) Or if you want more macho' - The Eradicator. Dr. S.
  12. :-D :-D :-D :-D :-D :-D :-D :-D So much blood! Poor guy! Dr. S.
  13. Thanks for the heads-up! Rogue Shadow, 7621, 7622 and 7623 all in Basingstoke TRU - I only bought 7622 for now. I would have got 7620 if they'd had one. Curses! Weird thing is, box for 7622 shows fleshie hands for the Germans, which is what they have, instructions show brown gloved hands... Dr. S.
  14. That's a great idea! A sort of UN! Or EN in this case. :-D Dr. S.
  15. I've added a new page to the Tabletown Website reflecting the newly twinned status of Tabletown with Mulberry: http://www.shush-its-secret.demon.co.uk/Ta...wn/twinned.html A town can twin with more than one other - so if anyone else is up for a "grand alliance" - let me know! Dr. S.
  16. Check this out! http://shop.lego.com/SalesAndDeals/Default.aspx?va=1 I've ordered about
  17. Nice job - lots of snow around the studio? You gotta give them some "dangerous" sounding names. :-) There's a LEGO military group on Flickr - you should post them there. Dr. S.
  18. For the record, as we still have votes coming in (can that be stopped?) - at the time I declared the winner it was 13 votes to Sinner and 12 votes to gylman. Dr. S.
  19. And the winner is... ... ... ... ... ... ... ... ... ... ... ... (drum roll) ... ... ... (etc.) SINNER!!!! Congratulations - if you can PM me your address, I'll drop your Doctor Sinister badge in the post next week sometime - I believe it's the first one to go south of the Equator so I sincerely hope you'll wear it with pride! To ALL contestants - thanks for entering my humble competition - all the entries were very worthy and I'm honoured and grateful that you should want to contribute and compete for a coveted badge! *y* *y* *y* *y* *y* *y* *y* *y* *y* *y* Dr. S.
  20. Right then...give me a few hours to get home, attend my daughter's school play and I'll announce a winner... Dr. S.
  21. No, I am pleased to day I don't own any MB stuff. The Best-Lock stuff I have is minimal, I ONLY bought it so I could destroy it in a war with Tabletown. There's a rumour that MB military forces have allied themselves with BestLockLand - I'll be relying on you to cover the flank. :-D Dr. S.
