  1. Cool to finally see this together. Love it!
  2. I like how the cross section gives a view of the two layers of the building: the stone and the wooden supports
  3. I think the wall technique and snow landscaping is great! The olive green grass fits right in. As said before, the wall looks very uniform, maybe some tiles in dark bluish gray would help?
  4. The balance of the types of vegetation is really good, I'm definitely going to take some notes on this!
  5. Very cool creation, and a fantastic addition to Avalonia! Love the landscaping, animals, and dark blue roof. The windmill fans themselves look small compared to the windmill tower, though, but I guess that's because the other building is in the way.
  6. Thanks, I think I've learned a lot since last year just by looking at everyone's MOCs. As for the tower, I actually envisioned it to be a small room, maybe an attic. I really wanted to fit the lion heads somewhere (I got them from a bunch of old Knight's Kingdom sets at a thrift store and have never used them before), and I just thought it would look more balanced to put them where they are instead of on the tower. Being featured on the Brothers Brick has been a dream of mine, so thanks for that! Glad to hear you like it!
  7. That is indeed a dragons den! Or maybe some other creature's nest, who knows? It kinda does resemble some classic castles! Maybe its because of the raised baseplates in some of those sets? All credit for the cross design goes to Simon NH on flickr, he used it on a church he did a while ago. I just stole it directly!
  8. Thanks HQ! I have to agree with everything you had to say about the church, especially the height. I wanted it to be the tallest structure in the castle, but that just made it disproportionately tall . Thank you! Yep, 9 rooms in total! They all have a 2x4 hole so that a ladder can pass all the way through the tower to allow minifigures to go through, so it waas hard to fit any amount of detail in them. I was quite proud of how the path turned out, thanks. Now that you mention it, the steeple does look weird from an angle where you can see two adjacent windows with different arch heights... Thanks, I wanted the tan and dark red to break up the continuous light bluish gray (with the help of olive green).
  9. Yeah, that color works really well for roof. I have a total of twelve pieces of that color.
  10. The walls around the Church of St. Jocosa have protected it for hundreds of years against enemies. Located in the mountains of Avalonia, the church is currently being guarded by the soldiers of Eryos. This was built for the 48x48 castle category in the 2018 Summer Joust. It was really fun to try to fit an entire castle on a confined space. I got the idea of creating a fortified church from Tim Goddard's creation, Abbey of St. Rumaire.
  11. Prince Kevin the Navigator, Lord of Eryos, loyal to Avalonia.
  12. Working on a 48x48 castle for Avalonia, just waiting on a bricklink order! That micro castle should be first prize
  13. Wow, this is great! I love the flower technique and will probably steal that in the future. As always, an interior is refreshing, and the roof and foliage are nicely done. The overall atmosphere just feels very warm and mellow. One minor thing is that the path looks a little strange, being two plates higher than the grass around it.
  14. I am going to Brickworld as well, and will be bringing my GoH creations! I figured that I wouldn't have enough time to dismantle my current creations, wait for Bricklink orders, and create another large project before Brickworld, which is why I haven't posted anything. However, right after Brickworld, the building will restart.
  15. Again, the titled wall is excellent! Can't wait to see it all together!
  16. I cannot build anything at the moment (and probably not for another 2 months) because of school, but I am looking forward to book III! When I joined GoH it seemed like the Avalonia book II challenges were already completed, so I didn't get a chance to do any of those.
  17. Thanks, this really means a lot! I started building the ship as a stand-alone thing, but decided to add the base just to have some story with the monkeys. But I still want it to remain mostly a stand-alone piece, as I will probably destroy the base and reuse it for another creation very soon, but I want to keep the ship itself for a little longer. But yeah, I agree that in the water a lower base would look wayyy better. I'm glad you like my other builds as well! The main reason that I don't do battles is because I don't have enough minifigs! My spring break just started today, so hopefully I might have a new GoH creation done this week?
  18. The overall build is one of the most aesthetically pleasing ones I've ever seen! I really like the tree design, and the techniques on the white house (the roof, SNOT walls, offset door, sideways window) are great! I also like the winding staircase that is nicely incorporated into the rockwork.
  19. The ice looks so realistic, really good MOC
  20. Congrats to evryone thay won! And thanks again for hosting, Ecclesiastes!
  21. Can we still expect results today? Or maybe on the weekend? Thanks!
  22. I agree with you, i thought the eagle sorta looked like a rat. And I was pleasantly suprised when I got positive comments about the Ent as well! And yes, you are correct about the bottom.
  23. Thanks Andy Thanks, I thought the Treebeard wasn't great, so I'm glad you like it! Yeah I was quite happy when made those steps! Thanks Gunman
  24. I built this for Brickset's 60 Years of the LEGO Brick competition. It is a miniature version of my favorite LEGO set, the 10237 Tower of Orthanc. Replicating it on a small scale was really hard, since the original set was so many small details. I included Treebeard as well.
