Harry Potter 2020 - Rumors & Discussion
BacktoBricks replied to Captain Nemo's topic in LEGO Licensed
I agree about Crookshanks; the cat in the CMF just doesn't cut it for me. I would also like to get a Mrs Norris (seriously how could Lego separate Filch from his beloved cat ?) although she may not need a new mould just a recolour. A new Padfoot would also be extremely welcome along with a werewolf Lupin to complete the Marauders. I have the original Fluffy which I got last year after always wanting that set when it came out as a child and I have to say I think that is one mould that has aged pretty well. If Lego was to do Fluffy now though I get the feeling it would be brick built. A dishevelled owl mould would be good, but Errol is probably the lowest on my list as we have had several owls now. Pygmy Puffs I think are also worthy of a new mould, as we have now seen them in both the films and the Lego Harry Potter game and in my head they would be perfect for an inclusion in Diagon Alley and *fingers crossed* Weasleys' Wizard's Wheezes considering they are the creation of Fred and George. As for the Grindylow, I would love one along with a Selkie who have been a great candidate for a CMF spot from the start in my opinion. The original isn't bad, but the hairpiece could be a lot more wild and flowing, but regardless their price has gone up of late beyond what I'm willing to pay for a single figure right now when they may be remade. Cornish Pixies have been a must for me since the reboot; the COS scene with them for me was always very memorable and like the Merpeople I always thought they would make a good CMF inclusion. Demiguise is a very majestic creature and would make a nice inclusion, but is a bit more obscure to the wider Wizarding World audience I think and featured most prominently in a film that not unfortunately I can't see Lego going back to. And I can't see them doing the unicorn either unfortunately considering that we only see it in the films dead and being fed off. To add to your extensive list a Salamander would be good, but it could just be a red version of the current lizard. Another Basilisk is also warranted (that thing on the Great Hall is not worthy in my opinion), but again I think that will be brick built. Kreacher would also be very welcome, but without getting all SPEW I'm not sure if people think of him as a creature (despite the name). -

Thanks @Guyon2002 and @Balrogofmorgoth and @TheRandomBlocker. My 7am brain wasn't working too well. I was going to say that of course that doesn't mean it was necessarily a new mould, they may have just used the City dog as a stand in, but TheRandomBlocker you ninja'd me . I do hope we get a new mould though soon as Fang with his little chin rolls would be adorable. -

Haha you make it sound like someone was packing up for the toy fair on a Friday night and couldn't find the right model and they saw that model on the shelf in the office and just thought 'That'll do.' Lol Didn't they show off a prototype Fang at a 2018 fair, not to the public, but in the non-public area. Or was it another year? Or have I remembered wrong? Like @Holden Brickfield says it's been so long now my memory is a little fuzzy. -

Just a heads up, if anybody is still looking to get the Knight Bus, potentially before it retires later this year, Amazon UK currently have it reduced to £20. Lowest I've seen it in a while apart from those crazy specific supermarket deals. They also have Quidditch for £22. -

LEGO Star Wars 2020 Set Discussion - READ FIRST POST!!!

They do seem rather pointless and this one was even rather patronising 'The lesson here is always buy everything on day one!' We don't need to be taught a lesson, but if most of us have learnt something it is not to buy everything on day one at full price. I think it's pretty distasteful to turn the argument around onto the consumer just when someone points out their failure to really time set releases to complement each other. Thankfully an AT-AT is iconic enough to sell regardless of whether any other Hoth sets are on the market. The remark is probably just a slip of the tongue, but when they clearly work so hard on avoiding the elephant in the room at times, you think they'd be a bit more tactful when answering. -

Quirrell could well be included, although I personally think he is going to stay exclusive to the Great Hall for now. Also he wouldn't come with an iguana in DA because that scene is in the castle. Dean isn't among the kids outside QQS ogling the Nimbus 2000; they are just random as far as I can tell. -

Of course the counter argument would be that, like the Hogwarts Castle, Diagon Alley could include the 'founders', or in this case patrons, of each shop represented as minifigures, hence the inclusion of Florean Fortescue. The counter argument to that argument though is that we are getting a Harry minifigure. So ... I say we leave it up to the algorithm to decide. -

There was. But there have been mid legs in dark grey; Ron has them in the Hagrid's Hut set. -

Okay thanks. Could you say if they meant that this is the only Harry, as in not another COS flu powder version as well as this PS one, or did they mean not another Harry at all? -

Sorry I couldn't resist Glad you caught the reference. True Potterhead. Me too. Harry in his polo neck when he goes through the flu powder in COS is very memorable to me, but they couldn't recreate the high neck exactly with printing. It would seem off to me to use the flu powder face with this torso though. -

The face is very cool. No problem, just thought you ought to know. -

Yes. Maybe we won't get the correct Harry torso for the flu powder scene or the leaker just mixed the face and outfit. This outfit is from Philosopher's Stone -

Flu powder face! And broken glasses. I said it would be cool if they did a double sided head like that and they've done it! -

Great to wake up to an actual leak, although Florean is that obscure that a sleepy me was at first like 'Who's that ghost?'. ? But the fact that Florean is getting a figure makes me hopeful that other wanted characters will also be given due attention. -

Strong hint from a designer in a Brickset interview that we are going to be getting more Mandalorian sets I think https://brickset.com/article/52445/interview-with-star-wars-designers-75292-the-razor-crest-and-jedi-fallen-order -

The printing is definitely thicker. Look at Hedwig from the sets and then the same part but from the CMF. Her printing is thicker on the CMF version. -

I don't think it means that it can't, but isn't there often a few months between a new licensed mould appearing and then it being in another license or unlicensed set? Correct me if I'm wrong because I can't go over to Brickset and trawl through to see, I'm just going on memory.
