  1. Welcome back I hope you enjoyed the read.
  2. From what I understand Warwick Davis was not meant to appear as Flitwick in POA. Cuaron simply gave Davis a part as a hitherto unknown 'wizard' who conducts the school choir. He was not meant to be Flitwick. But Newell liked the look of Davis' Choirmaster and decided to keep him in the films as Flitwick.
  3. That was another one that got me more in the books than the film. I was gutted when I read that first time around. In the film it's kind of chaotic at that point so it's not as 'zoned in' on her death. Still a poignant moment though.
  4. I read the books on release and then got the audios. The first four books I had the audios on cassette tapes. They were trans coloured plastic back then which I thought was just magical in itself, they would take me months to save up my pocket money for, but I played them so much they were so worth it. Kids today would probably look at them and ask what they even are though. OOTP I then got on CD and after that it was digital. I don't know how many times I listened to them as a kid/teenager. I applaud your dedication to reading them though, that's an art in itself! I too have the film images superimposed on my brain now though, even with all the times I've listened to them - it's hard not to. The HP Lego revival definitely got me watching the movies again too. Predicting sets, checking set accuracy, getting excited about the sets that could come next etc. I so hope the theme returns to form in 2022, or if it could later this year then that would be great (Lego I need that Durmstrang Ship and a Merperson. Thank you.) Even now it's like, 'I know what's going to happen, no need to get emotional.' Next minute ...
  5. Ah sorry. You're not a fool lol. Dobby's always stood out to me and then you're comment got me thinking. I listen to the books on audio when I want a refresh, not that I have in a while though. Don't think I could read through them again, my attention span couldn't take that when I know the material so well.
  6. For me all the deaths were more powerful in the books than on screen, but Dobby's in film death was a real tear jerker for me. Thinking about it though, Snape's was pretty affecting.
  7. I agree totally with your assessment of the sets. I'm not even that mad about the Ford Anglia in Privet Drive because I've used 2 columns of 2 1x2 trans clear bricks with rocker plates attached atop to attach the car to the roof of Privet Drive at a slight angle so that it looks like the car is flying over the house. Looks great on display to me and really brings the set alive. I even got Hedwig because I like the movable wings and it was on discount, although large buildable creatures is not my thing. I have then dismantled my current castle sections as I simply don't have the space to keep them displayed. I thought I would need a lot of shelf space this year for more 'displayable' builds such as a Gringotts at the end of my DA, maybe a Shrieking Shack, the Durmstrang Ship or second task scene. Now I'm thinking it might only be Hogsmeade that makes it onto display this year. As for a Bludger D2C, I will just let Ron say it all, in fact I think he's sums things up so far quite nicely.
  8. I get an email the night before to say it's coming normally and then an hour slot, but normally only at about 10-11am on the morning of delivery. Don't think DPD has ever given the map option for me. When Lego used Yodel that had the map and a 'X deliveries before you' system, but they often would turn up on my doorstep even though they supposedly still had say 7 deliveries before mine. So overall I prefer DPD over Yodel because they're tracking seems a little more accurate and they will deliver at weekends.
  9. Haha yes. No it's not the waiting that bothers me, that's fine. It's when things get 'stuck' somewhere with a vague tracking message, no ability to contact CS anytime soon and a lot of money out of the bank.
  10. Oh the good old days!
  11. I didn't with the Blacksmiths, but I know others have orders delayed supposedly after dispatch for well over ten days, seemingly in a courier warehouse somewhere, no way of getting hold of Lego etc. Just could do without that.
  12. Not necessarily when sets are getting more expensive. I know it probably is, but just thought I'd ask. Ordering from Lego right now can be a pain. Me neither. Was this actually a thing?
  13. Is it actually a D2C, as in only available from Lego to start with?
  14. I know it was said otherwise before, but I think these new sets will be able to connect physically with what we have got already because they have connection points that look to match the existing sets, and I still feel like the introduction of sand green into the Astronomy Tower roof was a way of making it match with either these or the old line. But as for 'connect' in terms of quality, you're right they just don't match up from what we've seen and I agree that taking a step backwards in the name of nostalgia is not a good way to celebrate the anniversary of this theme.
  15. True, although I was thinking more of actual sets with buildings. And when the books were revealed we all thought they were a kind of side wave, an appetiser so to speak. Would we have all been so enthusiastic if we knew what was to come?
  16. I know. My point is that the last set we got was DA which was fantastic. So for the theme to go from that to sets in the June wave feels like a massive step down.
  17. I mean, they hit us with DA and then do this to us ... it's not surprising that we feel like we've been whacked by a Bludger.
  18. I did not know I needed this. I want that sound brick.
  19. Now let's not jump to conclusions - we know where that's got us.
  20. It's been said by those in the know that we will be getting another polybag, but not what it will contain.
  21. ^ Those are the comments, paraphrased from Guyon and FalconFan. I will add to that Guyon's comment that he thinks the June wave has excellent figures and decent builds, but when asked if he likes the August wave: 'God no!'
  22. You'd think not but the way Guyon has been hinting it's like he thinks these are okay, but August is terrible. If August is just more anniversary sets in this modular form then how bad can they get? Which is why I feel like it must be a wave of something else, maybe some anniversary, but with other gimmicks thrown in.
