  1. The second Ideas set this year that will make me break my 'just focus on Harry Potter sets and Star Wars minifigures' theory. As someone who was a huge Winnie fan as a child and had them all in cuddly toy form this set really brings back memories. I love the figures, especially Rabbit, and moulded Eeyore is just perfect. Piglet also looks better with the red scarf piece than the leaked figure we saw. The child in me would have also have loved Kanga and Roo (with a purple scarf piece) and Owl, but I know that would be unreasonable to expect. Fantastic set!
  2. Thank you I would have missed it if you had not of said.
  3. No that's correct, he is in POA as you say.
  4. @Guyon2002 I'm just trying to get use to your new profile pic - I'm so use to that yellow bird giving us all the evil eye I didn't recognise your comments at first. How To Send A Lego Fan Crazy 101
  5. Can I ask, do you think the sets are 'bad'? I know it would be your opinion and it's subjective, but even so. Aye
  6. Not necessarily - it just means that he thought the sets were anniversary based, maybe because of the golden figs or something, so he would assume they would switch back, but as he doesn't know for certain that they are he can't say. As he says in his own words:
  7. I think at first he said he assumed they would, but he has no more info beyond August so he can't say either way.
  8. No not you. That was Guyon. You just basically said we weren't getting what we would assume we were getting and would be in for a shock.
  9. And for Zeb if they every did more Rebels. But Geonosians would be a good fit too.
  10. No one is assuming anything. We are going on hints by two trusted people which have led us a certain way. And in the absence of any other leaks there is not much else to discuss so we are speculating. There is a difference between light speculation and being toxic. And I don't think any of us forget that Lego wants to make money, but a lot of the time their decisions do not seem to make sense money wise. If their decisions were so predictable then half of our discussions would never need to happen as we'd know exactly what they are going to do. I'm just genuinely intrigued as to what sets based on this magical universe could be considered to be quite that bad.
  11. I don't know. I thought the only thing certain this year was going to be some solid HP sets, probably with DH sets and a Gringotts, and yet look where we are. It's driving me nuts!
  12. I know. I'm not saying they're all figures. The higher price sets could be other things, but FalconFan said something like nobody would guess all of the sets, like someone may get lucky and guess a couple, but who would really think figures would be in there? I've only gone there after all this time and because of the dire hints. I don't think I've ever been more intrigued by an upcoming wave. And the thing is, it sounds like I'm not even going to like the wave!
  13. A horrible thought just crossed my mind. What if the August wave has buildable figures like the Star Wars figures from a few years ago. None of us would guess all of what's coming, says FalconFan. Would any of us really think Lego would go there? Lego would have learnt their lesson from how bad the SW figures sold I hear you say? But since when do Lego's decisions make sense. 'You be surprised [how bad it can get]', says Guyon, 'the quality of these sets is pretty much irrelevant'. So basically the set concepts are fundamentally bad in his opinion. As in, if we were told Lego was doing a Buildable Sorting Hat it could either look like a brick built poop emoji or a really detailed quality build that actually resembles a talking hat, but it's still a 'bad' set because not that many people would have that set at the top of their wishlist or want to spend that much money on the concept. And if you take into account the fact that he doesn't think the June Anniversary sets are that bad, I'd say the August sets can't be anniversary sets, otherwise they'd probably at least hold some value because of potential minifigures. But I believe his description of his opinion on these sets was 'God no!' That I think is a appropriate retort for someone who knows we are getting Brick Built HP figures. 76395 ($29.99) could be a single figure like Dumbledore or Voldermort, 76394 ($39.99) could be a 'bigger' figure like Hagrid and 76392 ($69.99) could be a triple pack of Harry, Ron and Hermione. Am I going crazy? Could it possibly get this bad? In all honesty, I'm joking ... and yet a small part of me screams that this could be true.
  14. Thank you. Started to think I was going mad.
  15. Apart from the minifigures the preliminary pictures are pretty much how the builds end up. But I don't know if he has seen the pictures for the August wave - from what I can gather I think he's working off someone's descriptions which suggests it's just what the sets are that he finds bad, not how they have been executed
  16. Guyon did say 'You'd be surprised [how bad it can get]' which seemed to suggest something pretty bad. Might be the first time Lego ends up ripping off Lepin.
  17. Just wanted to say that if anyone in the UK is looking to get the Great Hall before it retires, Amazon currently have it reduced to £70.05.
  18. Not on Youtube apparently. According to him, Lego is threatening any content creator who even speaks about possible upcoming sets in a video with a copyright strike. He said that under their new policies, if he was to make it now, even though he is out of LAN, the video that he made last year speculating that a UCS Imperial Shuttle was coming would have been hit with a copyright strike by Lego, even though that it a) never used any 'unreleased' copyrighted images b) was just a rumour video and c) turned out to be false (at least for 2021). Theoretically he could leak it via some other social media, but why would he risk it?
  19. It looks darker than olive green on the top to me, more of a dark bluey grey, and more tan on the bottom, but the whole scene definitely has a greenish hue to it and it's hard to establish the basilisk's true colour in the dark lighting. That being said, I don't think olive green looks particularly good for the whole thing, but then this isn't the theme for grey so if they can't distinguish the underside from the top for the whole length of the basilisk then olive green all over seems like an okay compromise. If it was a bigger more detailed model then I would question the colour more.
  20. I would say in your dreams, but ... I think your brain already knew that. Thing is, we have two reliable 'leakers' now so it will be evident straight away if they're credible. Time will literally tell so yes let's just be patient.
  21. I voted for the Gunship and sure, I'd probably like a system scale gunship with a great figure selection better because it would give us the opportunity to get a great model and some much needed figures. However, when I voted for the gunship I was under no illusion that it would come with loads of figures. I voted for a UCS gunship and precedent shows that for UCS ships you're lucky to get two figures, normally pilots, and that is what I expect to get for the Gunship. But as someone who has no other UCS ships, the Gunship is the one ship that, as long as it's done well, will make me get a UCS set - no other OT UCS set has done that. So that is why I voted for the gunship; because I love the source material. No idea where I'll put the thing, but I can't see me be able to resist getting it. I do agree though, that a lot of voters, probably not those on this forum, with less knowledge of the UCS/system scale distinction will be expecting something more figure focused. I will say though that Lego did inadvertently connect the model with figures by actually asking what figures people would like to see with the set
  22. I know you probably want to hit a GWP threshold so you may not be looking at other retailers, but Amazon has the Clock Tower reduced to £61.85 at the moment which is a decent saving.
  23. I struggle to believe that Lego won't release a small Harry Potter forest related set this year when they've had such fun discovering different ways to make trees for the last three years. Am I barking up the wrong tree? 🤔
  24. They are just his predictions - he says so in the comments ('They're predictions so nothing here is confirmed just rumours and my best guesses'). By 'evidence' he means just means ask me how I came up with these theories. It's a non starter.
