LEGO Star Wars 2024 Set Discussion - READ FIRST POST!!!

These midi ships aren't for me, but I'm sure there are plenty of collectors and even non Lego fans who will buy these simply for the ability to have compact displays of renowned ships. Throwing a figure into each would have undoubtedly increased their sales numbers, but I think it's testament to Lego's confidence in the display market and their core product (i.e. Lego as a building product not a minifigure market) that there are no minifigures included. It's also refreshing for a minifigure collector like myself to not have to consider buying a small display model I don't want just to get a figure. A great little lineup for sure and so good to see some prequel representation in the line from the off. -

Dopey was my favourite dwarf as a kid followed only closely by good old Grumpy. That being said, I can't say this figure is really giving me Dopey vibes, but I appreciate it is hard to capture characters in Lego form whose facial features heavily emphasise their noses. I also appreciate that it is an OG Dopey and not some new iteration. I'm interested to see more pictures and the rest of the clan, but I'm not as excited as I was for the dwarves having seen this minifigure. A bit more Creepy than Dopey to me, but a valiant effort nonetheless. -

I'm getting nostalgia vibes for the original castle with a main castle set and then a Potions add on. -

Yes at last we get the ship! And I'm not suprised 76435 is the Great Hall after seeing that booklet silhouette. -

I don't know if we will necessarily get a new Ollivander seeing as DA Fred and George were reuses weren't they? (I think they swapped their names around ). I really hope we do though. I'd say maybe Madam Malkin herself seeing as we got the Owl Post Worker in WWW. I don't know if they have a representation of her in the theme park or not. And then it's whether they go for Harry's first DA visit in which case I'd say we'd get litte Harry, Hagrid, Draco, Madam Malkin, maybe a couple of students for her shop and a couple of random DA patrons maybe. But if they decide to go a bit darker and do HBP then maybe Harry, Hermione (we got Ron in WWW), Narcissa, Draco, Fenrir and then Malkin and a student customer? -

Falconbricks has now confirmed 76439 Ollivander's Wand Shop and Madam Malkin's Robes. Yaxley also posts rarely, but so far appears reliable which is a refreshing change. I hope we get a new Ollivander. I loved the horrified expression in the mini DA and the newer one from big DA just felt ruined when every DA person got the same torso. -

I'd have thought we'd start getting set names soon. We've got Star Wars summer names and granted they are May release, but we've also just got names for the Speed Champions June set numbers that leaked at the same time as the HP summer set numbers so fingers crossed. After this many years, I'd much rather speculate on set contents than what sets will be. -

I'd say so. We've been discussing March and Summer 2024 sets for a good 10 pages now, but it's up to the Mods. -

It was on the 2023 retiring list, but has since been moved to end of 2024. All information isn't set in stone of course, but it does suggest there will be a replacement coming. The fact that two Great Hall sets might be on the shelves for around 6 months wouldn't preclude it happening as the theme has had many crossovers in that respect already. -

Hhm okay then it's so long ago now I can only remember pictures. Either they trimmed it a bit or there's another large set. Maybe that rumoured Knight Bus? -

The arm printing is nice and great to add to the Second Taak set, but he really should have dual moulded legs. I would have taken that over the printed arm to be honest. He was wearing shorts in this scene and whilst Harry could be forgiven as he used mid legs there is no excuse here but cheapness. The same went for Krum in the Second Task set. They are excellent minifigures torso up, but they could be better. Especially as these books as they are not exactly cheap. That being said I don't where else we'd get this minifigure now so I don't think he's really wasted a spot. The line up will never feel complete without Fleur though. -

I agree a reboot of the castle could be quite promising based on these two castld builds; I think they are a great mix of playsets and display sets. They are simple, yet charming and not blocky with elements such as the snow capped spires really adding character. It seems we will be starting outwards and working inwards this time, but it makes me really curious to see the Great Hall they would come up with in this iteration. I only just realised McGonagall had arm printing; I just saw reflections so I'm glad others have eagle eyes. Nice little added touch making her basically the best version of this minifigure we could get. -

This exactly. The incosistency makes little sense. If these are becoming more of a regular thing then having a minidoll in each would surely only enhance their collectability for children. I could see them stacking up on a child's bedroom shelf. And by including a mindoll they are obviously aiming for the younger market so I don't get it at all. -

Thank you :) Probably an exclusive to certain retailers in each country I'd say. Not much to interest me, but the new baby reindeer looks adorable. I just picked up the last one, but going to have to get this one for my Disney minifigure display case. And is that a different Bruni? He looks to be sitting up? -

Ford Anglia: Lovely little set for display if you don't own one already. A great little set for kids also with a cheaper pricepoint and playability. Magical Creatures: Really dissappointed with this one. I wasn't expecting much from the build, just the usual tree or two as filler fluff, but from the leaks that Buckbeak was going to be in it I thought the Hermione and Ron minifigures were certain to be from Prisoner of Azkaban and Hagrid's lesson in the forest. So that being said I thought we would get student versions for the minifigures and Hermione might be the usual combo of reusued Gryffindor robes and plain legs, but I was also hoping we might get a new torso print for Ron with his scruffy white open shirt look. The CMF Ron comes close but he has his black robes on still. For the set to instead include little Hermione and Ron is extremely dissappointing because that just doesn't make sense canoically as they hadn't met Buckbeak yet in either the films or the books. Of course for kids I'm sure this will still be fun and if you don't have a Buckbeak, baby thestral, pixie yet etc then this is a good set for that, but I see no reason for the minifigure choices. I would rather of had a new torso print than a winking pixie. Owlery: Pleasantly suprised by this one and love the new owl colours. The snowy rocks really capture the movie vibe, but dissappointing to see plain legs on Flich. He has printed legs in the first iteration of this figure with this torso print, so Lego can do better and it feels nothing but money corner cutting not to include printed legs. Boathouse: Again pleasantly suprised. Minifigures are as expected and the build was never going to be wonderful, but it's cute and compact. Hedwig: Not my cup of tea at all and the bird looks far too big for the sign, but I'm sure it will make a nice desk warmer for some. Can't fault whoever had to design the set for the pricepoint they did an admirable job. Overall I'm getting low budget vibes from this wave, with sets chosen because minifigures can mostly be reuses and instead the odd printed part and another gimmick being used to try to sell the sets. All the sets are cute and some sets clearly have had the budget spent on them, such as Hagrid's Hut getting all the new figs, the printed mitten, Fang etc, but if that means that Filch can't even get printed legs in another set it seems pretty tight. Will be interesting to see how the Summer wave turns out. Maybe sometimes less would be more? -

43237 ($44.99, 641 pieces) has a lot of pieces for the price compared to 43236 which is the same price but has only 329 pieces. To me this would suggest the former has more smaller pieces. Another diaorma maybe? -

To be honest I think the pint sized ones are cuter, so if it isn't minifigures then I say go for it.
