Amazing photo quality on the review and the structure is okay. But for constructive criticism you should keep working on your English skills. As a set it's more of a display piece. Sure it's somewhat functional but it can't really be made RC because of steering related issues.

Axle Collection Thread
Mechbuilds replied to efferman's topic in LEGO Technic, Mindstorms, Model Team and Scale Modeling
I'm looking for two axles that have these features: -XL drive front axle (motor mounted on axle) -XL drive rear axle (motor mounted on axle) -M motor steering (motor mounted on axle) -Portal hubs + claas tyres Heavy duty rock climbing axles. XL motors on axles put all the weight of the moc near the tyres so it's not top heavy. These axles need to be joined in a central chassis so each axle has near 45 degrees of flex. I'm already trying to figure out how @PunkTacoNYC Made the axles in hes carrot crawler moc. It's somewhat what i'm looking for. -
This is what i was looking for earlier.. Stays true to the original charger while being RC.. Works with buwizz too! The issue is still with steering.. Those ball joint parts for the front wheels are just way too wobbly so the steering will always point to the left or right.. That being said, i might completely rework the front end entirely and make a drift version which has lots of cowbell for the steering. But the suspension will have to be sacrificed along with ground clearance.

I hate that one tooth off the center problem that the servo has. The mechanism i showed gets the steering in the center but the steering angle isn't that great. But i guess it's the only way to make it work. Didn't occur to me that i could mount the servo at the back and put the mechanism back there instead.. But it'll probably have even more play.. I personally actually like the bodywork lego did. I want to make it RC without doing a complete overhaul.

Damn i'm having so much issues with the servo. I could basically fit a motor where the original steering gearbox was and it would only take 2 studs of room to put a small gearbox from the drive shaft to the L motor.. But If i do this, the servos wire will be in the way of the gearbox or the drive shaft. So it just wont fit.. I could perhaps turn the servo sideways but then i'd have issues with the frame beams.. Oh btw the buwizz fits in the trunk on it's side. Hooray! EDIT: Using the servo this way: Will work but it won't give me the full maximum steering lock.. When i check the axles where the tyres connect to, they loose a little bit for steering and wont travel the maximum they could. Sadly i don't think there is anything that can work around this. If you use gearing, the gears teeth wont mesh up correctly and you will end up having steering that's a little bit to the left or right. Steering built like this will return to the center. Can't connect the servo directly to the axle because the servo will want to turn 90 degrees while the gear rack will max out at 45.

Back to square 1: Now you could in theory fit a motor right on top of the rear axle and put the gearbox after that ball joint part in the middle and still get a fake engine to the front.. So i guess i'll start working on how to fit buwizz in the trunk and fit the motor to the middle under the rear window.. For the servo, i still need to figure that thing out.. For some reason the steering isn't liking the front wheels being so wide.. They don't want to return to center or turn unless the thing is moving. Works fine when you lift the front..

V8 sticking out the hood deleted: Now i'm having a hard time figuring out how to fit a motor here.. The gear for steering is getting in the way so you can't just stick the motor directly to the gear.. I got the servo + buwizz to fit nicely inside the moc.. But it would be even better to have the buwizz back in the trunk.. I guess i'll have to disassemble the whole thing and modify the chassis..
-
Hmm.. Well the buwizz thing is easy but i don't want to take the easy route. I kinda want to keep it looking original but i might swap the fake engine to a lego XL or two L motors and have the hood with no hole.. So many options to try out.. One way is to use effermans solution on the servo but that requires 2 studs of space.. I think it should be doable. Currently i gutted the interior out and the doors and wheelie bar.. EDIT: It works but when the car is sitting on it's own weight, the wheels don't really want to return to center.. But that could also be because the servo isn't fixed in place yet and it's having too much give.. But this seems to fit nicely.

Just finished my 42111. I'm thinking if it's possible to fit a buwizz in the trunk.. It would be a really tight fit unless you turn the wiring downwards. Also would be cool if the motor could be fitted in the front instead of having a fake V8.. Because having an interior would be nice.. The servo could be used as a "fake transmission tunnel"..

Yes it's possible. With Buwizz you should be able to have in theory up to 60meters of range. With ludicrous mode you get a pretty nice kick of power out of your standard lego motors. Highly recommend. Just remember that buwizz uses bluetooth and it connects to an mobile device used as a controller. Haven't figured out how to connect it to a playstation controller yet.

42111 - Fast & Furious car
Mechbuilds replied to Kaanere's topic in LEGO Technic, Mindstorms, Model Team and Scale Modeling
Yeah. When i asked about the preorder thing earlier, nobody answered. I think i asked 2 or 3 times.. But now when i'm complaining about it because i didn't get any info how it works, now suddenly everybody is an expert. EDIT: So in future reference, preordering is not getting it before everyone else does. Preordering is just paying for the thing in advance. So basically you don't get it before others, you in fact get it later than others. Because it's already available in stores, yet i have to wait 5-7 days for postage till it arrives. Sure i didn't need to pay for the postage, but i could have just waited till it was available at a store. Won't be ordering from lego anymore. -

The money never left my bank. Looks like they cancelled it and didn't respond to my emails. -

If you were not a slowpoke, they had an preorder deal to ship the 42111 to you before 27th. Looks like i'll be buying the 42111 from the store instead.. Because my order is still stuck at "processing" -

I ordered the 42111 set @ 5th of april. The lego official site says that the order is "in progress" while it promised to reach me before 27th.. Even if they sent the set right now, it wouldn't reach me before 27th. I sent them an email and they don't respond. Poor service. Will not order ever again.
