  1. Thanks everyone *sweet* I've resized my photoshopped image, might resize the rest when I don't have exams
  2. Thanks Bonaparte, I've fixed all of the images. Thanks again *sweet* And yes, the hat is made from an old microphone head. I then stuck a bandana into the hollow part so that it can be properly worn. I think it's a little too big, but I'm still happy with it. Oh, that's a snowtrooper torso :-$ I didn't want to use a plain white torso, as I wanted to still show a kind of uniform beneath the snow. That's the closest torso I had to what I was looking for..
  3. Okay, here's my next vig of a painting. This time it's 'Napoleon's Retreat From Moscow', by Adolph Northern. Napoleon's Grande Armee has marched into Russia, intending to conquer it. The Russians however, have used the scorched earth policy, meaning they will destroy all of the food sources and shelters around Napoleon's army, stopping them from gaining any supplies. Napoleon finally arrives in Moscow, only to find the Russians have destroyed that too. With no food or shelter and the Russian Winter starting to kick in, Napoleon has no choice but to turn back. Many of his soldiers die on the way, either by the cold, starvation, exhaustion or by the Russian army picking off exposed groups. The Russian campaign was a disaster. Here's the lego version: Napoleon himself: La Grande Armee: .. And the fallen soldiers: Who's painting in this cold? :-D The painter shan't worry about the problems the French face: He has some food..: .. And a fire to keep himself warm :-$ : But who's that behind him? Look out, brave painter, a Cossack!: With lightning-fast reflexes, the painter grabs his canvas and smashes it over the Cossack's head!: .. Then quickly runs off before the Cossack can get his revenge.. X-D Enjoy!
  4. A very nice bunch you've got there. I especially like your minifig (I love that head :-$ ). Although it is good, I can't help but feel something's missing... Great job, anyway *sweet* *y* BTW, nice photoshopping and photography *wub*
  5. To start with I must say that both of these are brilliant *wub* ... which means another tough choice |-/ MOC #1: I love all the techniques you've used, aspecially the wizard hat as water and the plumes as blood *wub* The dog and the BBQ are very nice too. In fact, everything's great! MOC#2: Now this one has a great spooky-tattered look, I love the atmosphere *wub* I can never get enough of that brick technique either, it's great. In the end, I voted for MOC 2, as I feel it is more halloween-related and I love the spooky old building, as well as the lantern.
  6. I've made some more vignettes for a skellie-mafia. Is it ok if I post them now, or should I wait until the contest is over? :-$
  7. Thanks, everyone *sweet* Yeah, but I was making it more literal X-D Thanks, although I did have a link in the original post. Thanks. As you might have been able to see, two of the redcoats don't have the right torso :-$, but I'm planning on buying some more *y* Once again, thanks everyone *wub*
  8. Thanks, everyone! You could leave a few skellies in with your castle sets. I'd imagine Orcs would be useful aswell for your post-apoc world, as some sort of aliens or mutants *sweet*
  9. Thanks, iamded *wub* Thanks, IS! And yes, I'll add some enemies. Right now I'm working on a guerilla army to face them *sweet*
  10. I don't really know what to call this army, but it's a kind of 'Medieval/Feudal Asian Futuristic Post-Apoc Army' :-$ :-D Sorry about all the pics :-$ After the apocalypse, a surviving group in Asia have turned back to their old ways, and are using traditional armour and weapons, but improving them with their new-fangled technology. Using animals as transports and katanas, axes and guns as weapons, the united people march under their great leader's banner with pride. Let's get to the not-so-grand army: Here's the Emperor, a warlike man. He has commanded his army with great skill, and has conquered a large portion of Asia. He has a large sashimono on his back bearing the symbol of his army. He rides atop one of the few remaining horses, which is covered in armour. At it's front is a deadly plough, which can easily cut through large armies. Here's Kublai, the Emperor's top general. A skilled mechanic and deadly in battle, Kublai can bring down even the toughest of foes. He rides a mechanical horse he built himself, with two large cannons attached to it. Here's a dangerous mercenary the Emperor has recruited. After having been hit head-on by an explosive, his body has mostly bionic now. He is one of the Emperor's most deadly fighters, and has served the Emperor well, for a price that is. Here's a band of assassins recruited by the Emperor. Highly skilled warriors, these men have caused the deaths of many a man. The Centaurs. These are elite samurai who have had their legs replaced with mechanical ones, allowing them to travel at much faster rates, and provide more strength. The emperor's Royal Guard. Hand-picked from the rest of the army as the best of the best by the Emperor himself, these soldiers show unflinching loyalty. The Artillerymen. These men carry large cannons on their shoulders, and can devastate an enemy army with a barrage of missiles. The Elite troops. These men are veterans of war, and have always proved capable of causing havoc among enemy ranks. The Emperor's regular troops. These men make up the backbone of the army, and are very expendable. The Elephants. These lumbering beasts of India tower over the battlefield, and the sight alone of these monoliths can cause terror. These improved types are capable of carrying great weights. They are controlled by beast-masters, who are said to be able to talk to them. This elephant has a large cannon attached to it, able to cause carnage to closely packed groups of men. It also has spiked tusks, allowing it to trample and plough through an enemy army. Finally, the entire army: Enjoy! *sweet*
  11. Here's some more pics from my entry for the Pirate Halloween Contest. A group of corsairs have been terrorising the seas for too long, and France (or 'the Blue Empire' :-D ) has sent a large galleon to put an end to their days of piracy. The corsairs see this ship approaching them and starts firing at it. The corsairs are outgunned, however, and soon their ship is badly damaged. The remaining pirates evacuate the ship and hop onto small boats. One such boat contains some of the finest fighters the Barbary Coast has to offer, and it escapes into a small cave on the coast. One of the Imperial's own boats pursues them, and both crews soon realise they have made a mistake entering this dark place. From out of the gloomy fog come the skeleton pirates, who have long haunted this place, and begin to attack the unlucky crews. The corsairs (most of them at least) bravely defend themselves against these pirates of death. (There's me in the turban X-D ) The Imperial captain hasn't noticed this threat yet, but his soldiers certainly have ("Skeleton behind me? What skeleton behind me?" :-D ) The corsairs continue to fight with the vicious skeletons.. ..But the undead continue to overrun them, and their deaths are almost certain.. Now the Minifigs: The Corsairs: The Imperial Soldiers: The Undead #1: The Undead #2: ...And the whole cast! Take a bow, everyone! Finally, a photoshopped version, for added spookiness 8-| *skull* : Enjoy!
  12. Indeed, that last shot is beautiful with the sunset and the silhouette (?) *wub* Once again, excellent work! *y* *y* *y*
  13. Here's an MOC I made of Robert Gibb's Hougoumont. Hougoumont farm was garrisoned by the British at the Battle of Waterloo. Napoleon's army attacked it, intending to draw Wellington's troops there. More and more French soliders were sent to capture it, and fierce fighting ensued. At one stage, one of the gates were broken down, and the French attempted to breach the walls. The French engaged the British in hand-to-hand combat, but the British, in desperation, managed to shut the gates, leaving some poor Frenchmen inside, who were massacred. Here's the painting by Robert Gibb: ...And here's mine: Some more views: The full view: Who's painting in the middle of battle? :-D I couldn't find any pics of Robert Gibb, so I just made an artistic looking minifig: Enjoy! X-D
  14. Once again Apache, great pics! I love the angles you take, and the way you make it look as if we're right in the action! I especially like your second and fifth pics *wub*
  15. This is basically a continuation of the thread, How Much New Castle Have You Bought?, but here you can show us photos of your collection! I tried to get some photos taken of mine today, but my camera ran out of batteries, so I'll have some up in a few days.
  16. Nice entry, iamded! I love how you've got Batbrick dangling upside down in a web :-D
  17. Yeah, but it would be great. They could make a horse without a head so that a minifig could be attached, or make a bull head mould *wub* PS- how does my avatar look? :-$
  18. Ok, I'll start up a topic tomorrow..
  19. It was a toss-up between the Emperor's Ship and the Viking Ship. The Emperor's Ship is a very nice small ship, and it was sold at a very good price. Plus it's a good way to build up a nice Chinese army, as well as tophats, rubies, barrels and telescopes, not to mention the nice sail and flag included. The Viking Ship is very nice, comes with a decent number of gold-hungry Vikings, and comes at a reasonably cheap price. The Serpent is good too, and I love the dragon head at the front (I forgot the name of that part of the ship :-$ ). I've always loved the look of longboats, with the shields and oars, and the big sail, and this comes with all of it. The little bar in the middle is the icing on the cake *wub* In the end, I voted for the Viking ship, mostly since it is a larger boat :-$
  20. At least, thats the excuse Dwaves use... X-D
  21. Well, trolls basically are orcs :-/ I'd say the evil army in an elves theme would be either dark elves or evil humans. Mabye if we're lucky, we could get minotaurs, centaurs or cyclopses *wub*
  22. Wow, that's a magnificent ship you've got there, Tony *wub* I'd better watch out when I go off sailing X-D The detail on your ship is amazing, and it's good to see your figurehead again *wub* So which faction will be manning this beauty? I assume it's an imperial one... Once again, a wonderful job!
  23. Wow! Nice find, Piranha *wub* The Batman sets were hugely overpriced here, and I missed out on them, so I'll probably be getting the ones with Mr Freeze and Penguin, as they sound cheap and I love those figs *wub* I think they should release some buildings for Batman rather than vehicles, though. As for Star Wars, I'll be getting a few of those (that is, depending on how much money I have left from buying Indiana Jones and Castle in January and April :-( ). Hopefully the Death Star and AT-TE will be good.
  24. No problem :-) I think of them more as just a smaller version of a normal pie, really :-$
  25. Perhaps we could start up a thread with photos of everyone's 2007 Castle collection. I'd love to see everyone's armies *wub*
