I'm loving all of these new headpieces. Great to finally be getting army helmets, hopefully we'll be seeing more of them in other colours in the Indy sets. The curved pointed helmet looks very nice too, it looks like a plume can be stuck on the point. This piece should be useful for Mesopotamian or Ancient Egyptian MOCs, and could perhaps even be used as a picklehaub. . And that new headrap looks stunning, very detailed. As has been said, it would be perfect for an Indy Staff of Ra scene. It's a shame we didn't get one of those with the Ambush in Cairo set though, it would have been great on the Cairo swordsman too.

The sun began to set over Guilder City, where the people of the town had decided to condemn Vincent Forman/YG-49 to death. The town advanced towards the fearful cop, yearning for his blood. The poor policeman staggered backwards. "I'm innocent, you fools!", he yelled. Vincent continued to back away from the crowd. Unfortunately, he didn't notice the large manhole located behind him. "Aaaarrrgh!" He let out a yell as he plummeted to his death down the dark yet well-sanitised chasm. One of the townspeople returned from Vincent's house with bad news: "Darn, it looks like Vincent wasn't a corrupt cop after all. And he had a fairly important night action too. Hopefully we won't be needing it for the coming night..." With that, the people of Guilder City retired to their homes, hoping for better luck tomorrow. Night has begun. PM me your night actions within about 48 hours or it will not be counted. This thread may be closed.

I'll let all of the edits so far slide since some people didn't know about the rule, but from now on I'll be counting everyone's edits. If you want to add something to your post, posting again shortly after you've posted will merge the second post with the first. -
Noir Mafia Confirmation/General Discussion Thread

Day 1 has begun. Samthelegoman1, you've been added to the reserves list. -
The mayor of Guilder City - dead. But how could it have happened? Well, it all started a few weeks ago - the rather aptly named "Day 1" to be precise. It started out just like any other day. The sun rose from behind the towering bland buildings, and loomed above the cold streets of Guilder City. But it was to be far from an ordinary day. "AAAAHHHH!!!" The morning was heralded by a shrill cry, echoing though the labyrinth of buildings. The people hurried to where the sound came from, and quickly crowded around the dead body. Another innocent citizen, Gloria Concini, had been gunned down. Across the street lay another body. There was another cry of despair. The beloved mayor was dead. The town was filled with sadness. Guilder City's Mayor - who had promised to change the town for the better, to rid the town of the scum - was dead. It wouldn't be long before he was replaced by another corrupt politician. "No more of this!" someone yelled, we have to fight against the mob, and the corruption in our city." "Yeah! We need to clean up this city and restore it to it's former glory!" "I know! Let's start a mafia game... of life to solve this!" The crowd cheered in agreement. With their newfound passion to rid the town of the scum, they set out. It would be a tough job.... Rules: Noir Mafia will follow the basic rules of mafia. Every day the town will be able to kill someone off. To do so, they will need to get the majority of the players to vote for one player. Once someone is voted off, it will be night time, and those with night actions will be able to PM me to tell me what they are going to do. If the day lasts for more than 5 real days, it will be night. Night will typically last about 2 real days, and if you don't PM me your night action in time, it won't be counted. In addition... - There are two basic sides - the Town and the Scum. The basic objective for the Town to win is to kill all of the Scum, while the basic objective for the Scum to win is to outnumber the Town (some characters may have to complete additional objectives in order to win the game). - Voting will be done publicly. They must be typed in bold. (eg. Vote: Player). You may unvote too (eg. Unvote: Player) - Editing your posts 3 times will get yourself killed. 3 Out of character posts in the game thread isn't a good idea either - 3 mentions of Witch Hunt Mafia and I'll give you a very dirty look. - Don't post in the game threads when you are dead. Sorry that the avatars didn't work. The problem seemed to be that the image addresses were too long to fit into the avatar settings box. I've shortened the addresses and added the new avatars to the OP for you to use. Still to confirm are Sandy and Stash2Sixx. -

Noir Mafia Sign-Up Thread

Right, I have 2 more characters available, so Lego12 and Zapper Brick can now play if they want. I'm working on the roles now, everyone should be getting them by tomorrow. -
The Mayor of the city left the hall, pleased with his speech. Yes, finally, he would lead his beloved town into a new age, free of extortion, free of corruption, free of the scum. A golden age. It had been hard work for the mayor, but it was worth it. But he was worn out now, tired. He was driven home. But, always a sociable man, he decided to walk the last couple of blocks... *BANG!* Rules: Noir Mafia will follow the basic rules of mafia. Every day the town will be able to kill someone off. OLD Mafia and Mystery Games Index
MagPiesRUs replied to MagPiesRUs's topic in LEGO Mafia and Role-Play Games
Just to warn you guys, I'll be posting the Noir Mafia sign-up thread some time tomorrow. -
I saw this a while back and I thought it was fantastic. The cinematography is superb, as is the music and animation. The storyline was well told too, the twist at the end was neat. My only complaint is that while I do like the idea of using real water for rain, the droplets didn't run smoothly, though I see you've addressed that in your "Making Of" article. Overall this is a very fine brickfilm, definitely among my favourites. Great job Smeagol.

I'm good to go. Is it ok if I post the sign-up thread some time this week? -
Happy Birthday you three, I hope you all have a great one.

Wow, what a wonderful building you've made Hinckley. I absolutely love all of the the detail on the facades on the top floors, the tan and brown colour scheme fits in perfectly here. It really gives it a nice 20's feel to it. The addition of the fire escape is great too, it gives the building a nice run-down and old feeling to it. Then contrasted with the simple retro diner - fantastic. Again, great colour scheme here, I'm a big fan of dark blue. I always love the use of that trans-clear curved panel as a window, and this is no exception. I like the interior too - is there any chance we could see a better picture of it? My only complaint with the bottom would be that it is a little bare. I would suggest adding some sort of decal onto the green piece or perhaps on the white roof. Great job Hinckley, this is definitely one of my favourite town buildings of yours.

Yes, that's me. I assume this photo must have been taken moments before I was voted off as usual and burned at the stake? Thanks for doing this Stash2Sixx, great idea.

New Zealand: "Where to find Lego"
MagPiesRUs replied to Legoman's topic in Buy, Sell, Trade and Finds
Yes, I found them all except for the Chauchilla Cemetery Battle at Farmers in Lower Hutt two weeks ago. I picked up Ambush in Cairo, Venice Canal Chase and Temple of Doom, all fantastic sets. I like it. The minifigs are stunning and the set is very fun. My biggest gripe with it is the mine carts can't go along the track without being pushed, and the minfigs will often hit their heads when passing underneath the watertower. Aside from that, I feel it's a great set to have, especially at 30% off. Now has anyone seen any Pirate impulses in NZ yet? -
New Zealand: "Where to find Lego"
MagPiesRUs replied to Legoman's topic in Buy, Sell, Trade and Finds
I checked at a few of the Farmers stores in Wellington, and the only one to have the Indy sets was Lower Hutt, though there were only a few left. I picked up Ambush in Cairo and Venice Canal Chase, both lovely sets. -
I didn't shift the blame. I wasn't even being seriously suspected by anyone beforehand. I made an observation about Pepper's behavior, but now it turns out that the problem has been resolved. This whole game... of life is based around confronting people and seeing what reaction they make, and it is necessary to do this. And how would a member of the Black Sun be able to get into the position of sergeant? This is my squad of rebels. Why would I allow my squad to negotiate with the Imperials with only 1 other Black Sun member? Being the sergeant, I would've recruited more Black Sun members if I wanted to ruin the negotiations. I see the Imperials have already made the mistake of killing their own leader. At this point it doesn't matter though. I'm dead regardless. I can only suggest you pay close attention to those that have voted for me, because 4 of them will most likely be Black Sun members.
-
I haven't thrown the blame on anyone else. I've retracted my blame and admitted my mistake. I'll be happy to defend myself as soon as you come up with any actual arguments to back yourselves up.
-
Ah sorry Pepper. It just struck me as odd that you would immediately start talking with someone else who has now been revealed to be a traitor. Now I've realised you were actually talking to Al Iztard. My mistake. See what happens when I am forced to talk before I have thought things through?
-
Why do you not trust me? I have been your sergeant for many years, and have never let you down before. The reason I haven't talked much is because I prefer to think things through before accusing anyone. Now, I haven't thought this through too clearly, but notice how Pepper Fletchman immediately began talking and bonding with Adley. She was also seen in the paintings talking with a rebel pilot - although none of them have the blue icon on their helmets (a mistake possibly?). Besides, there always has to be one evil femme fatale in a mafia game... of life, and all of the other women appear to haver been loyal.
