[APP] BrickController2
Oldlegonerd replied to imurvai's topic in LEGO Technic, Mindstorms, Model Team and Scale Modeling
The problem with each product having it's own controller, is you cannot combine products, like a mouldking bt battery and a Buwizz in the same model, controlled using a single app. That's where brick controller 2 is so great, one app to control them all. I've used buwizz & sbrick together and it works great!- 1,308 replies

I don't believe the pfx brick is supported by bc2, but I know why you'd want it, the controller app for the pfx brick was very dissapointing with regards to controlling the motor outputs.- 1,308 replies

Okay, is there a way we can set up a crowd funding page or something so that we can support Imurvai with this, he gives the app away for free, so he should not have to purchase controllers so that he can test them, I'd love for support of circuit cubes as well as buwizz 3, and would definitely be willing to put something towards the costs of development, and I'm sure there would be others as well. This is the best app there is to control your MOCs as it's the only one that supports multiple controllers.- 1,308 replies

Nice additions pdw. I've been connecting to the buwizz with the buwizz app then switching to bc2 to get the connections, this seams a lot easier. And great to be able to get 100% from both axis of the joystick at once, even the buwizz & sbrick apps have the same issue, although I have not used the sbrick app for ages so it might have changed by now.- 1,308 replies

If you are wanting to power the sbrick from the buwizz to find the sbrick, you need to connect to the buwizz using the buwizz app so that the buwizz is supplying power, then you can switch to the brick controller 2 app and search for the sbrick and buwizz, once found you wount need to use the buwizz app again. You can provide power to the sbrick and still use the same output to drive a motor, so with 4 sbricks and 1 buwizz you could control 20 separate outputs.- 1,308 replies

Hi Grandpa_Lothar, This was a gamepad that was noted ages ago on this forum, it's really cheap and works really well. https://www.dx.com/p/n1-3017-fashion-multifunction-bluetooth-wireless-game-controller-black-2059252#.XN8l2RMZG9e I also have a Samsung phone but mines a J5 I think.- 1,308 replies

I've done a quick test with my buwizz 1 and 2. It looks like it is only the buwizz 2 which the ports 3 & 4 are swapped, the buwizz 1 looks to be correct. It does not really bother me though as I have wires everywhere in my models and just plug them all in and then use trial and error until I get the right controls doing the right things. But since I have both buwizz 1 & 2 I thought I'd do a test for you.- 1,308 replies

Yes it is the buwizz 2, I think I've got my buwizz 1 in my other model, when you switch that buwizz on you get the solid green light straight away, the buwizz 2 has a flashing green light until you connect to it and is only solid green whilst you are connected.- 1,308 replies

Thanks Imurvai, love your work. For those of you wanting to power your sbrick from your buwizz, I discovered that the buwizz now only provides power when something is connected to it, so when you are searching for devices the buwizz is not giving power to the sbrick so the sbrick cannot be found. This seams to be a new feature of the buwizz, probably to conserve battery. The work around I used was to start up the buwizz app and connect that to the buwizz, then when I search for devices with the brick controller app the sbrick can be found, the buwizz app stays connected when in the background, so the buwizz is still providing power.- 1,308 replies

Hi Imurvai, thanks so much for this great app, I have set it up to control my excavator and it works perfectly. Do you have a set of instructions for the app, I just noticed the alternating and pingpong options and was wondering what they were for.- 1,308 replies

OK now I have got my controller linked to my phone. But now when I run the app I get a message saying 'Error during loading creations', so I press OK and then try to add a creation, and I get another message saying 'Error during adding creation' I have tried uninstalling the app and then reinstalling it but it has not fixed the issue. I think this might have been from me trying to update the app, by installing it again, as my first issue was that it could not find both of my Buwizz, only one of them. Oh I'm using a Samsung J3 Pro- 1,308 replies

Cool, thanks, that did the trick. Wow I would have never figured that one out, thanks. (It was Home & Y, just in case someone else is having the same problem)- 1,308 replies

I try to search for bluetooth devices from the phone but it can't find any devices, even though i have gotbthe controller switched on and on channel 1. Thought i must need to do something else with the controller so my phone can find it.- 1,308 replies

Hi There, I have one of these controllers (see image), when I first got it my phone was too old to use so I linked it to my samsung tablet instead. I now have upgraded my phone so want to link my controller with my phone instead, but silly me I through out the instructions and can't work out how to make it search for a connection anymore. Does anyone else use the same controller and know how to make it link to a new device.- 1,308 replies

Okay, looks like I need to get a new phone, mine's actually only a Samsung galaxy s3 (not s4) and when I try to update it, it says it is already up to date at Android 4.3. Need to get one with an infra red transmitter so that I can test out all the features anyway. For the ideas board the only thing I'm able to do with the sbrick app that I can't do with this is sequences, the most complex I have done so far is only a flashing light sequence, but with multiple controller profiles you could possibly have one profile which is a standard remote control, and another with preset sequences. So say for an excavator it could have a sequence to automatically dig turn and dump, then dig again etc. Would be great for shows where it can be digging by itself without you having to control it all manually.- 1,308 replies
