[MOC] Mos Espa Podrace - Layout from Fanwelt Cologne 2012
ISDAvenger replied to Sir von Lego's topic in LEGO Star Wars
Great googly moogly!!! Superb work my friend, a lot of detail. What did you use to design it? Did you use LDD, some other digital designer, or just free hand it? -
"Yawn" What, did a 3rd grader come up with this set?
-
Yea, I think I might get in on this.
-
MOG, that is just awesome. I love it when builders put effort into detailing the base. Well done!
-
Lol, that last was awesome Oky!
-
Superb work as always! I love the skeleton design, very intricate.
-
Hopefully I can find someone to trade a Boba Tin for a NYCC Tin.

Amazing MOC man! You really put a lot of work into and the small details are quite exquisite. Wish I could see it in person, as pictures never seem to do MOC's justice. -

To caveat, I bought the new Jabba's Palace and came to find out that it was missing the small parts bag in bag number 7. Talk about a disappointment. Looks like they need to recheck they're packing process. -
Jabbas Palace, Desert Skiff, Sith Fury Class Interceptor x2, TIE Fighters x3 (TRU Sale), and C6 Boba Fett Tins x2. Almost....almost picked up a NIB Sandcrawler for steal, but passed. Had a chance to buy a used Cloud City for $450.00, but let it go. Yea, totally kicking myself for the last two, blarg.

So is this a series or just a one time deal?
-
That's pretty nifty, if the gate coincides with the tower section.
-
Any reason why you built it? Since it was #1, I would think it would be quite collectible.

Class II Imperial Star Destroyer "Avenger"
ISDAvenger replied to ISDAvenger's topic in LEGO Star Wars
Unfortunetly I do not have a spare 10030, as I used one to build this model. -
Very impressive model. Very well executed and detailed. Awesome job, my compliments!
-
Outstanding job!!!!! As a aviation fan, you did a marvelous job. I like the swoosh picture.

From living in the US, I'm used to waiting 2 to 3 extra months to get the newly released Lego sets that my European counterparts already have. I can wait til the new sets actually get released, I like the suspense.

Great rendition of the Venator during a very pivital point when the Republic turns into the Galatic Empire. I think this is the first one I have seen for this time period. As a Empire fan, I loved this part of the movie and really showed how the Empire started its rise to fame and power.

Da shooda!!! Nice work man.

Same here, brilliant. I love the design and the playability aspect.

Class II Imperial Star Destroyer "Avenger"
ISDAvenger replied to ISDAvenger's topic in LEGO Star Wars
Yes, I would like to light the interior and exterior, espcially the way the support beams are run. I think it would really set it off. I originally wanted to SNOT the whole model, but figured the cost would astronomical. Although tiling the inside might be possible. Thanks for all the comments! -
Class II Imperial Star Destroyer "Avenger"
ISDAvenger replied to ISDAvenger's topic in LEGO Star Wars
For the right price, sure. Yes, its just under 5 feet long. I do not have a weight, parts, or cost esitmate right now. If I could get a good weight estimate, I could estimate the rest. This has about 2 feet on the UCS ISD and is a lot more detailed. You are right I had to make it a little thick for the mini-figures, but that is only on the sides of the main body, the rest of it is pretty close to being proportional. Sometimes you just have to give and take. Thanks for the comments and constructive criticism guys and gals, I really appreciate it. It was a time consuming, but well worth it build. -
Class II Imperial Star Destroyer "Avenger" After over a year of planning and building, the Kuat Drive Yards is unveiling the Class II Imperial Star Destroyer “Avenger”. I spent a lot of time researching books and pictures with the intent to accurately build one of the most iconic starships in the Star Wars Universe. My main goal was to build a movie cannon Star Destroyer, with the addition of a detailed mini-figure interior. All of the work is from my own creation/design, but there were some small areas that I used from other Lego models. My main inspiration came from seeing a builder take the 10030 UCS Star Destroyer and put an interior in it, I wanted to take that and do it on a much bigger and better scale. I also have to give credit to Erik Varszegi, Anio, Brickplumber, Cavegod, Rook and other builders whose large builds also inspired me to build the Avenger. Also a lot of credit goes to my wife for supporting me through the build. Thanks goes out to the members of the Greater Florida Lego Users Group (GFLUG) who let me show the Avenger for all four days of Star Wars Celebration VI. The Avenger was well received and was given a lot of awesome feedback from the attending fans. It was even given two thumbs up by Erik Varszegi, who was quite impressed with the Avenger. So without further adieu, I present the Class II Imperial Star Destroyer “Avenger” and please leave me any constructive criticism.
