You’ve been awarded (4) points. Judges’ comments… Great Little Build, especially for your first side build. The whole concept here is so basic but original that it just works. Everything from your landscaping and building up the rail to the train and the troop poses is spot on. If I had to give one suggestion, it'd be to work on your lighting as it is a little bit overpowering, but thats a much better problem to have than poor lighting. Very nice job. Awesome! Small lil confrontation, and it works so well. The usage of the train is great, original usage. I myself can appreciate the decal usage on the figures; those take time and you did them well. Lighting was a bit heavy, but that is an easy problem to fix. You can always adjust camera settings. Ballast on the track and the terrain looked great as well. Again, great job! A very good build all around. The minifigs are impressive, both the way you outfitted them as well as their poses. The terrain has some good detailing and texturing, and the train tracks and ballast are nicely done. The photo editing is obvious around the edges (I'm assuming this was to eliminate the background). You may consider buying some posterboard. It's pretty cheap and serves as a good background for smaller MOCs. Be Sure to Update Your AARs. Thanks for playing!

You’ve been awarded (3) points. Judges’ comments… Very nice idea playing out from the Brick of Nations. I believe this has not been done yet so nice job. I thought the idea of guys playing ball right behind the border fence was a little bit strange but other it was funny. I would have liked to have seen a little bit more detail given the size of the build like maybe some texturing of the grounds in the way of say some sidewalks, different colored walk ways, or tiles. Overall, a nice little build I like the fences, excellent choice as those are perfect. Off duty playing ball seemed...out of place. Might want to leave that out next time, but that's my opinion. Pics outside looked well lit, good job! The size was right, but maybe delve into a lil more detail in the builds. Otherwise, great job! A fine build with some decent details. The terrain could use some more texturing, and I would recommend getting a sheet or something to serve as a backdrop for your pictures. Be Sure to Update Your AARs. Thanks for playing! -

You’ve been awarded ( 3 ) points. Judges’ comments… Unsure of what this has to do with Briolui but its still a nice little build. Glad to see someone expanding on this type of side mission. Short and sweet. Still though, I would love to see your landscapes expand outwards and upwards. First one to do a supply drop, nice job! I do like how the 'package' left a messof dirt where it hit the ground...a slight crater. Good thinking on the detail portion...but still that same stinkin' flat baseplate! Presentation wise, great job with the shadow hiding the supports used to hold the plane up in the air. Took me a second but I went back to look for it and I didn't see them in my initial glance. Be Sure to Update Your AARs. Thanks for playing!

You’ve been awarded ( 3 ) points. Judges’ comments… Very nice for a first build in the game. The size feels good but it feels like you went a little big just for big sake. Definitely room for a little refinement throughout whether it be tiling the ground or adding small details to the buildings. Very original, but I am unsure how I feel about this whole Samurai / Ninja thing..? Be Sure to Update Your AARs. Thanks for playing! -

We are adding a universal piece of Intel here for the campaign after having a staff discussion. Not all of the 16 Sites have WMD. Certain sites that have been agreed upon by the staff already have been listed. For this reason, player builds should NOT show them finding or destroying the WMD UNLESS they have hard Intel proving a site has WMD prior to their build. The results for the sites that were unknown prior to building will be revealed after the campaign has ended. -

Perhaps that is a question you should discuss with your teammates and look at your intel with the RON? 16 Sites are suspect and subject to clearing. How it gets done is up to the COAC and the RON. -

Campaign 6 Race to Safety Map Name: Studica Grid: F10 Oscar Time: 2345 An agent with the Plighia Special Services makes contact with Xenor rebels who have ties to the Servants of Freedom. The agent is hustled passed the men into a pickup truck heading who knows where.... Ten minutes down the road the truck stops and picks up an agent from Toohati along the same highway and keeps driving. They drive for over an hour with neither exchanging any information or pleasantries. They arrive at a warehouse just south of the border with Swintoc. Both agents are brought inside where they meet a man named Victor who explains he is with the Servants of Freedom and extends warm regards from Caesar, their point of contact who is unable to join them. Victor informs both of the agents that they will be taking a trip to a Xenor Army Base - Location Oscar, where they will intercept intel with the SoF. Victor cracks open a crate and starts handing out Xenor Army uniforms and Gear. Once suited up, they all get back in the truck and make their way to base Oscar. While enroute to the location, both agents wind up divulging to the other which government they are with. This is accompanied by heightened tension sitting with their enemy. They have no problem getting on the base. It becomes clear to the agents that the SoF clearly has contacts in high places. After passing through the check point and driving for 10 minutes down a long road in the base, the truck stops in front of a large concrete building. They all get out and two of the SoF members start carrying a crate toward the front door of the building. Victor exchanges greetings with the guards who ask for paperwork. Victor motions his men to bring the crate over. They crack open the crate to reveal their "paperwork" to the guards who naturally let them pass without issue. The guards on duty were placed there by SoF personnel embedded in the Xenor military just for this reason. Victor takes the two agents inside while the rest of his men stay outside pulling watch. While inside, the three men pass through the tight airlocked hallways. They come up to a solid enforced door with a single guard standing watch. He has been radioed by the guards at the door to let them pass through. The three men walk into what looks like an armory and see several boxes and crates that appear to be in the process of getting ready to ship out. Victor looks at one of the manifests on a crate and asks the agents to help him open the crate. They look at each other in hesitation and proceed figuring they've already come this far already. The agent from Toohati peers inside the crate and sees with his own eyes a Nuclear Warhead half way prepared to be used as with an explosive primer. Victor starts telling them that the SoF personnel they have embedded in the military tipped them off about a massive operation to smuggle WMDs around the continent into all of the other nations for use. The Plighian agent stands in disbelief and snatches the manifest out of the other agent's hands to read it with his own eyes. This particular package was being sent to Erotema. Victor and his Personnel carried the crate out and loaded it into the truck. Both agents accompanied them back into SoF territory. Before dropping the agents, Victor told them action would be needed to prevent Nuclear Armageddon from happening and that they would need to work together to eliminate this threat or it would be their own downfall. --------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------- With the revelation surrounding the Nukes found in Xenor, RON and COAC forces have agreed to launch a full scale invasion into Xenor in an attempt to secure military installations suspected of harboring WMDs. Campaign Guidelines RON and COAC forces should be shown engaging Xenor forces at locations across the country in an effort to secure possible WMD sites. There are 16 sites in total. RON and COAC forces will need to coordinate their movements to ensure that all 16 sites are covered. In the event a site is missed, the circumstance does not need to be explained. The terrain is temperate and cool. Often very windy and wet. All builds must be posted as a new topic in the “Great Brick War” subforum, the title prefixed by, "(GBW- CP6)" followed by the Country you’re representing, and then your MOC’s Title. Example "(GBW- CP6) Filace - Ouch that stings)" Neither side should show their forces definitively destroying the opposition. Showing successes is okay, but not total domination. The winners of the campaign will be decided based on the points awarded from judging. This means if your team doesn't score well, it's possible for your forces to be beaten back. MINIMUM SIZE BUILD IS 32 X 32 All LDD Builds must be labeled- Example: (GBW- CP6) Country - Title of build (LDD) All builds must be new MOC’s and not prior builds. Photo Editing is to be kept to a minimum with only real edits of lighting and color correction. No special effects. Players may crop one picture of their MOC onto a background picture to help with their landscape if they’d like. Pictures cannot be bigger than 800x600 Players may post a link to an offsite host such as Flickr where Higher Resolution pics are located. Be cool and share your photos in the GBW Flickr Group! Please refer to the General Rules Topic for limitations based on your Point Level. Upon completion, players must also post a link to their build in the AAR Thread as well letting the judges know that it is eligible for scoring. Campaign Duration 3/13/18/18 - 5/7/18 All builds will not be finalized until the closing date for the campaign. Players can edit their posts up until that point. As long as it is 5/7/18 somewhere in the world, you can submit. Use this as a deadline https://www.timeanddate.com/worldclock/usa/baker-island The Outcome Both teams are working to prevent a nuke from going off. -In the event all of the sites are covered, Xenor will be disarmed and the RON and COAC will need to help stabilize the region and establish a new government in Xenor through the Brick of Nations. -If a site is missed, both sides will be on the hunt for missing WMD and at total risk. All players who participate will be awarded the points they earn for each build. You’ve been awarded (8) points. Judges’ comments… Not sure how you do it, but your pics always look kinda grainy? I think it's the very dark backgrounds you utilize in all of your pics. The shot with the troops with their black gear against the black background, in front of the trees, that one was rough to decipher. That being said, I think you have a great concept, hidden airbase, and a strike team airdropping in. The jump scene was great to see made into LEGO and considering the painstaking effort you have been making on the Harrier, I'm glad to see it turnout the way it did. Too bad it had to get blown up in it's first appearance!!! Nice Harrier! But thr quality of the pictures should be better (Light, background). Don't ask me ;-) That Harrier certainly takes the cake for this build, and the outfitted troops are very nice, too. The setting is good with the trees and snow, but the airbase seems to be lacking. Fuel tanks, barracks, fences, and lights are all missing. Even if it's a secret base, at least some of these details are still required for basic operations, and would be nice to include. You’ve been awarded (7) points. Judges’ comments… This build has a great structure to it. I like the detailing inside the store, but it was hard to get a good feel inside because it was very tight. The outside of the building could have used a little more detail (and some more shots to show the outside as most were close ups.) Overall this was very well done. I liked this build, but I wanted more from you! The hardware store itself was a great premise for the pilot to hide out. The store itself has quite a few details, but I felt that the rest of the build was lacking...with the exception of the back (bikes and plants). The yard felt a little smooth as well. Feel free to add footprints for the patrols. Close up photos in tihht spaces are difficult, no doubt. And if you didn't know, I'm sure you do know. The lighting is always tough to get right. I will say this though...that last shot of the pilot peering through the door from inside...FANTASTIC! That was so good I actually added an extra point for your presentation score! Don't be scared of those details!!! More details please! A good build with a very nice story, but it was missing a few things that could have taken it to the next level. Prints in the snow, for example, and the building seemed too clean and perfect. More like a showhouse than a hardware store. That said, you have some lovely action shots, and the overall design of the build is good. Be Sure to Update Your AARs. Thanks for playing!

You’ve been awarded ( 7) points. Judges’ comments… I'll start with what jumped out at me right away...your pics! Not sure how you got that exposure but it gave the sense that this was going on during a snowstorm, and that really stuck out, so nice jjob on that! Your rock wall is very detailed, along with random patchiness of snow, the ice, the compound. What I enjoyed was the tree. I saw the tutorial of these a few weeks ago on flickr and thought it would be great to incorporate a few into the game, glad to see someone else thought so as well. Nice build! I particularly liked the use of the grate plates as a fence and the way you SNOT bricked the snow along the base of the fence. The snow covered tree was a nice touch too. I would have liked to have seen some wider angle or more depth pictures. Nearly missed the overall picture. Don't forget a full scene in your presentation Be Sure to Update Your AARs. You’ve been awarded (6) points. Judges’ comments… There isn't a whole lot of structure to the build here, but there are many little points of detail. I think that the half track truck is very interesting and well done. Your presentation and photo work are on point. I just would have liked to have seen something with a little more depth as this largely just feels like a snowy base plate. Even thought you only built up one side of the baseplate ith snow, that's ok. I would have liked to see a bit more, this kinda felt a lil rushed? the gravel road is too perfect; there are no real differences in the rocks. Maybe add some plates (round and squared) and some squared tile into the mix, change up a few colors? I also feel there was too much in this shot, almost like there was too much going on, too busy. I think for the space, it just felt awkward to me. Not a problem, again, my opinion, but just wanted to state that. Watch your lighting, that super treaded halftrack casts a mighty big shadow, unless that's what you were goin for? Also, with all white, try for a slightly different color background. I like the ATV... I like what you did with the half-track. It's a nice vehicle, and it looks like it would work well for a recon/search and rescue situation. The tree and frozen pond are nice, but there aren't too many other details that stand out with this. With the destroyed building, it's basically just a simple wall. Be Sure to Update Your AARs. You’ve been awarded (9) points. Judges’ comments… There is a lot to take in with this build, but in a good way. Everything from the overhead cable supports, to the AA Gun, to the Tow launcher. It's all very detailed and not very complex. The exploding truck detail is probably the highlight of this build for me. Outstanding. And THAT is why I'm a dog person!!! But seriously...A trench where the men stay warm, all of the large weapons, and that exploding truck o fire are great! You kept it fairly level, but added enough variation right along a roadway to make it believeable. Great job with the cleared snow because I hate roadplates, seriously, I hate those things...but you made them look good! My only real critique, and this is tough as you have the background already preformed, I think the white cut in and yellowed out your pics a lil bit. But that may just be me? A lovely build all around. Great job with the trench system, the AA, the radar, and the landscapping. I'm really not sure if I like the AA or the TOW more. The snow is nice, but it does look odd for one shoulder of the road to be covered in snow while the other shoulder is clear. The convoy vehicles are okay (not great, not terrible), but the explosion shot is really impressive. Be Sure to Update Your AARs. Thanks for playing! -
You’ve been awarded (2) points. Judges’ comments… I'm glad to see you jumping in and getting your feet wet here. Some things to consider for the future, try and focus your attention on having something clear and detailed. It is very difficult to see much of anything from your pictures due to poor lighting. Try and look back at some other builds people have done to get some ideas for things you can do to help with that as well as having a background. Generally speaking, a camera flash is not your friends when it comes to LEGO. As for the build itself, it needs some work. There are plenty of areas in your build where you could focus a little extra time and some pieces to add to the overall detail of the build. It was hard to make out the fact that this was cave. Look up some ways you can do some rock work details. Overall we are glad to see you here and putting in the effort and can't wait to watch you grow as a builder. Creatively, you're good. I can follow your story, but remember to not let the story take over; keep the build as the shining star. Too many people here tend to forget that! I'm not sure what you covered your bricks and plates with but honestly, there is no need to paint the parts...unless you really want to. I would suggest just building with what you have and can at first; let your parts dictate what you can and cannot build. No need to go all custom crazy on your first MOC. Take your time with these builds as well. We make sure to give you close to a month to work on your build. If you just slap a bunch of parts together at the last minute, you will actually harm your team and not get anything out of the game. For pictures, be sure to give a little extra rroom around the item you are photographing; if you crowd the target, it will not get enough light. Also, no need to go so close when taking pics. And most importantly, natural light is the best. Avoid the flash if at all possible when snapping LEGO. Solid color background, good light, and angles are great way to improve with taking photos. Now if you've read this much...good job. We are here to help each other become better builders. If you have questions, please ask. Do not take these comments as a verbal beat down; that is not what it is intended to be! Be sure to take a look at some of the other submissions and seriously look at their builds. Keep up the good work. Rome wasn't built in a day and neither are the greatest MOCs! WELCOME TO THE GAME!!! Well. There is a long way to go, to be honest. Concentrate on something, don'T make it too complex. Add details. Be creative. And don't spill the milk over the legos. The vehicle is the best part of this build. I think it has some promise, and polishing it up a bit would go a long way. It's far too long and bulky. Adding some military-specific details would also help differentiate this from a basic civilian truck. As for the landscapping, try adding more plates and bricks to make the terrain uneven. And if you lack white bricks, instead of painting (which I know some people are fond of), I'd recommend being creative with what you have. Brown and black? Roads. Green? maybe it hasn't snowed quite so heavily there. Grey, rocks. Well, you get the idea. Be Sure to Update Your AARs. Thanks for playing!

[GBW-CP5] Plighia: Behind Enemy Lines 6/8 - Ambush
The Great Brick War replied to ODA 401's topic in The Great Brick War
You’ve been awarded (5) points. Judges’ comments… This is a nice and simple build. The features it has are nicely done. Given the somplicity of the overall concept of the build, it would have been nice to see some more defining landscape features or perhaps have one side close of with rock wall or drop off or something; something about the never ending openness bothers me and I don't know why. Solid Job, thank you! Good plan, good start. I think your premise was solid, but as it is wide open, I just feel like if these guys were going to ambush, there may have been a bit more cover. The trench is good, nice rock formations, but there are no trees, no big snow drifts, nothing for anyone to really hide behind. I feel your build was basic, and that's ok, but we want you to give it a push and stand out a bit. Feel free to take those chances and work with what you know...but then add a bit more. There were a lot of different shots, which is good, but many of them had different levels of lighting, and that can make some pics good, and some look really rough...but your improving all around! Keep up the good work, A little more scenery/surroundings would be nice. An action-packed ambush scene. I like it. The rocks and snow are nice, but I think that this build could benefit from some additional details (trees, snow covered fences, less uniformity with the rocks' heights, etc.). Be Sure to Update Your AARs. Thanks for playing! -
You’ve been awarded ( 7 ) points. Judges’ comments… Very nice build. I personally did not give a high creative score as you pretty much ripped off the movie haha. But the build is very good. I like the way you did the jeep and am particularly fond of your helicopter as it looks like a nice design. The statue was nicely shaped as well. For the future I would say to try and prepare your builds with camera positions in mind so that you can more adequately get down in position and take shots that expose the finer quality of your builds. The though the comic book sequencing is a nice touch, I find it to be taking away from your builds a bit as you progress (that's just an opinion and it didn't effect my score) I feel the comic strip idea is pulling away from your build. We are at a year into this and I'm really looking for builders who have hit with amazing details and builds almost everytime. You are so close and near, but the cartoony look and focus on story instead of build is holding you back...in my opinion. Originality wise, this is "Behind Enemy Lines" and I'm pretty sure everyone knows that. Your trees and rockwork are good, the snow is good as well...but it feels so very much like your last sidebuild. True, this has much more rockwork, but that can happen when you're pushing story more than builds! I like where you're going with that helo, just felt small. Take that chance and "Put some beef on that sandwich!" Give it some size, make it realistic. Creative as always. But still more details are needed. And I would focus more on the build, not a story. There are a lot of things to like about this build. You're presentation is amazing as always, as is the story. The trees are simple, yet nice, and the weathered look on the statue is well done. You also did a nice job capturing a narrow mountain pass. And finally, the helicopter. Wow, it looks really neat, especially the tail, and I would love to see some individual shots with just it. Be Sure to Update Your AARs. Thanks for playing!

You’ve been awarded (7) points. Judges’ comments… This is an interesting build. I like how you rounded off and sand bagged the control bunker as it looked very realistic. The SAM Launcher itself is very detailed as well. From there, I think the judges would agree with me that we would like to start seeing you do some layering and working at different heights with more of your builds instead of just covering base plates. Don't take it the wrong way, it's just that we've seen you grow as a builder and know what you're capable of. Your pictures are very clean and look great! The same type of terrain keeps showing up in your work though; a big flat gray set of plates with some smaller plates and bricks on top. Take a chance. The whole idea is to become a better builder so try something different and take that jump! It looks like you are more concerned with a story line then you are with building. The plane was a nice addition and beefed up your build quality points. Hm. The landscape could be improved. Try to make smaller, more detailed builds. "A solid build, but it would be just as good if you removed the bottom half. It really doesn't add anything, and it's very similar to your prior builds. It could just be your technique, which is fine, but there is nothing unique about the bottom half. The top half, with the curved shelter and SAM battery, look much better (and the laser pointer was a great detail). " Be Sure to Update Your AARs. Thanks for playing!
