  1. I finally finished the prototype for my custom canopy. It's of course not the same one cehnot proposed but I guess it proves that the concept works (even though my prototype looks very rough, will have to build a better one).
  2. Have you worked on the custom canopy yet? If so could you tell me what tools you are working with? I'm working on a canopy myself and cutting the diferent parts with an exacto knife proved to be very time consuming. For now I cut a rough shape with a wire cutter prior to using the exacto knife and and filing but I hope there's a better technique...
  3. How's the final model coming? I would be very much interested in buying the instructions.
  4. I'm not sure if that would be possible on my model since the 2x2 round tiles are only connected with two studs. Had to use those 1x2 plates with only one stud to center the round tiles.
  5. Hey thanks, I fear those lines on the round tiles are just light reflections that happened in blender. They are really just plain white round tiles.
  6. wow that's a really nice cockpit design, good job!
  7. From the image I would guess that maybe the angles are achieved with technic beams and that the panels are held on to the craft with axles and pins.
  8. After playing the demo for Mass Effect: Andromeda, I did a quick build of the new shuttle. It has no interiors, maybe I'll get around to work on it sometime.
  9. I took DarthTwoShedsJacksons advise in my (hopefully) final version of my MOC. Check the original post for the new render.
  10. Nice moc! I didn't like the nose of the stealth figther and I think your version is a definite improvement :) Those bricks in front of the canopy will prevent you from opening it. Maybe you could place the canopy a little bit higher to solve this problem and I think it would give your craft a sleeker look.
  11. Hey, nice craft! Although I really like the overall shape of the shuttle, I think there's room for you to improve the craft by making it a bit more detailed. Personally I think I would choose grey or white as the primary color. Keep up the good work!
  12. Hey, thanks! Tips for improvements are always welcome ;) Is something like this what you had in mind?
  13. Really great MOCs! At first I thought the engines were a little bit too big compared to the rest of the craft but after looking at some pictures of the Y-Wing, I think your version has better proportions then the official sets. Especially the axles look too big on the official sets smaller engines. I also think your A-Wing is my favorite yet. It's very impressive how you combined the even width of the rear section with the uneven front section. Is it connected with pins?
  14. Now the right E-Wing has functional support struts. A different version on each side. For my brick built model I will keep the nonfunctional... it just looks better
  15. Yeah making the support strut functional would solve the problem. I just have to figure out how to make it functional and good looking at the same time
  16. Thank you for the feedback. When I first built the model I started with bars and clips as a provisionally solution since click-hinges only lock in 22,5 degree increments. My brick built model uses 5 connections instead of the 6 from the LDD file on each side because the 2x2 wedge plates I had ordered haven't been delivered yet and I needed to substitute the pieces. The connection is surprisingly sturdy. It's really hard to pull the wings off without pushing them forwards at the same time so for now I'm satisfied with the design. The only problem this connection has, is that if you want to swoosh it around on it's head the wings fold upwards. If somebody has an idea how to connect them in a more elegant way I would appreciate any help :)
  17. Thanks for the kind words! It sure would be great seeing it back in the canon. I'd love to see how they would design it for a movie.
  18. That's the image I based it on ;)
  19. Thanks! Yes, right behind the cockpit theres a compartment with an astromech. When the cannon is moved up the compartment can be opened.
  20. Update 2: I finally solved the problem with the wings (only being held in place by gravity) in a way that doesn't look too clunky. Now the model is a bit more swooshable ;) Update: It's difficult to stop trying to improve your creation but this should be the final version. I cleaned up the colorsceme a bit, added a bit more detail to the wingtips and modified the wing cannons and thrusters. Hi and thanks for looking at my first post, After seeing the render of the E-Wing from Fate of the Galaxy I wanted to build a Lego version of it. After a two weeks of improving my design this is the endproduct: While I tried to recreate the original model as exact as possible I made some small changes and I had some problems recreating the nose section. I'm no expert with snot techniques and I couldn't find a better cockpit piece. In the end I combined the nose of the 4502 X-Wing and 7259 ARC-170. The rear hatch was inspired by the 75051 Jedi Scout fighter. I build a lot of slightly different versions of the E-Wing and I included an older version with another cockpit piece in the LDD file. In the file there is a small gap in the nose section. In a brick built version the gap can be filled with a 2x2 plate.
