  1. just finished my preliminary interior
  2. Thanks everyone for the comments. right now i’m currently working on another project but will get back to finishing the shuttle, when i do I will provide the instructions for my mods. JarJarBonks I hadn’t thought about reducing the weight on the wings but the construction of them and the utilization of the SNOT technique doesn’t really allow for appropriate modification without destroying the look of the model. The issue that I have is not that big of a deal since changing wing positions doesn’t happen that often.
  3. no the printed tiles are just how you can personalize the interior, the instructions just have plain bricks. Be aware that there are some key pieces that are sold out on Bricklink and Lego, namely Reddish Brown 4215b (x93), I purchased 2362b (x183). Finally the linear actuators to lower the front door was not included in my parts list, I was able to find them for $10 US.
  4. So I have also taken on this incredible MOC, I have attached some pics to show my progress. Bricksmarlin do you have any pics of the electrical setup?
  5. Well after some thought I went ahead and procured the instructions for this awesome MOC. I am now at about 99% on purchasing parts, luckily I already had a little over 3K parts so it lessened the price by about $500 from everyones estimate. It has been a little frustrating trying to find some of the parts as some are no longer available on Bricklink others are extremely expensive. right now I’m waiting on all my orders to come in before I start building. I’ll give updates as I progress.
  6. I have some pics of my mods if you look through the forum. (interior, ramp, landing gear, wing gap fill). might be able to give you some ideas.
  7. thanks, thats what i was going for
  8. Well just picked up this ISD yesterday
  9. If anyone is interested I have created the landing gear instructions, just send me a message with your email and i’ll send you the file.
  10. That's the goal, not trying to create something new just enhance an already great model.
  11. So the internals are tricky, finding the right gears have been problematic but the current setup works. The weight of the wings are a bit of on issue when you try to raise them so they need a little bit of assistance to get them past the halfway point.
  12. So i’m continuing modifications to the shuttle, here is my attempt at eliminating the gap between the wing gears. Let me know your thoughts.
  13. Rocky, I can provide you the instructions for both mods I just have to create new ones for the landing gear because of the latest changes I did to it. I’m also currently working the wing gears to eliminate the voids in-between while still retaining its functionality, i’ll post pics as soon as it’s complete. Thanks for the Kudos on the mods!
  14. Well it has been awhile since i posted anything and now my weird obsession with the UCS Shuttle has brought me back again. So I have never been happy with the landing gear and decided to tear into this project again. i always felt that the landing gear needed to be attached to the structure of the model and not just an add on, also I wanted it to be able to be displayed on the stand in the landing position. So after tearing the ship apart one last time I think I'm satisfied with the outcome. I also went with some SNOT techniques around the ship as well as updating the engines, ramp, and rear gun. https://www.flickr.com/photos/151718857@N06/albums/72157689196649305/with/37322744156/ Not sure if my Flickr link will work
  15. anyone know when its supposed to be available in the U.S.?
  16. Thanks for the reply, the set was one of the originals in the old light gray. I'm kicking myself because I didn't buy it, I was given first dibs but thought it would be too difficult to acquire the right color...I was wrong. It was swiped up real quick. I'm kicking myself because it was a great deal.
  17. So I had an opportunity to purchase a used UCS ISD but ended up passing on the purchase because it wasn't complete. My question actually is centered on the instruction manual, everything I've seen online states that it had a spiral bound instruction booklet but this one had a standard book bound manual. Has anyone else seen this? I'm only curious, didn't know if it was exclusive.
  18. Ended up buying it for $378 US after taxes, so the negotiated price was actually $350
  19. What would you pay for a used UCS Blockade runner? the stickers are crumbling and the UCS plate is missing, on the upside they do have the instruction booklet and all white pieces seem to be good without fading.
  20. LegoSWfan, The AT-AT is at about 1 1/2 mining scale it is Cavegods model, if you are wanting the instructions to it look through the forum there are specific threads on this topic which identifies the individual you can purchase the instructions from. As for my mods to the Imperial shuttle just PM me with your email address and I’ll send you the PDF file, as stated earlier I’m still working on the ramp LDD and will send out when finished. Thanks for the interest in my mods this is the first time I have sent these out so seeing interest makes me feel like appropriately updating already fantastic models.
  21. Adam, PM me and I’ll send you the LDD PDF for the landing gear it uses many components from the set so if you have sufficient bulk it should be relatively easy. one thing that I haven’t detailed is that you have to remove the (4) Dark Grey 1x2x4 pieces to allow for fitment of the 1x4x6 on the landing gear. I don’t have the LDD finished for the ramp yet but as soon as I do i’ll let you know.
  22. I have the LDD instructions for this mod in a PDF is anyone is interested. James
  23. Ok so I decided to re-enigneer the landing gear for the Shuttle, I like the way it came out because it gives me another way to display it without the clunky set that was originally designed for it. if anyone one is interested in the parts/design I can post it here later. 24. Thanks Lobot, I have struggled with posting pics which is why I’m using Flickr.
