  1. Well i’m finally getting back to posting and decided to share my most recent endeavor. This is my 3rd Cavegod model (AT-AT, Sandcrawler) and now the Zeta. Peter you have created another outstanding model... Here are some picos the process so far.
  2. So if you are looking through bricklink you can type in the lot# you are looking for and add “pb” for printed brick, it should bring up something that you are looking for. Ex. 85984pb will bring up this which is actually 85984pb100. The great thing about MOCs are that you don’t have to follow the instructions 100%... the cockpit is a great place to start making the model your own. Hopefully this helps get you started at least, it just takes a little bit of searching on the site and you’ll find the parts that appeal to you for your cockpit design.
  3. Congrats! Nice to see the comparison as well.
  4. It could definitely create that weathered/used look if done appropriately, it just depends what the builder wants out of the finished product.
  5. Just know that because the Sandcrawler is so large, used RB pieces with scratches will be very noticeable... so be very selective with those pieces. The build is fantastic...enjoy!
  6. Since all of the technic bricks are covered up it is fine to use black over the LBG, Cavegod has always said to make adjustments as you see fit, this is a very expensive MOC so decrease your spending where you can. B&M is a great resource to acquire a lot of what you need, it will just take a lot of dedicated sifting. I would make friends with the owner if you haven’t done so already, they might be willing to let you sort through some of the bulk that they have in storage, in exchange for your assistance in pulling out what they need when they have their employees sort...this is what I do at the stores located by me. where are you located?
  7. Was there an additional bonus package with the early purchase? if so i need to contact Lego.
  8. I used a mix of the full panels and the 1x2x2’s, I made sure to utilize the full panels strategically on my build to be as close to the original build as possible. The dark brown pieces are the ones that are going to be hard to find, you’ll have to be a bit creative because there are a few pieces that are either expensive or non-existent. You can see some of the areas where I used the larger and smaller panels
  9. Yes, I can send the instructions, just understand they are not like some of the polished ones we find on this site (LDD instructions). Unfortunately the current landing gear setup doesn’t allow for them to be retracted, eventually i’d like to make another attempt. For these revisions I just wanted to focus on how it could be displayed on the stand , the external landing gear always bothered me as if it was just an afterthought. If you still want the instructions just send me a PM with your email.
  10. it looks like the top of a car battery lot# 3069bpb018
  11. rough dimensions are 37” or 94 cm “length" 18.3” or 46.5 cm “height" 10” or 25.4 cm “width"
  12. If you’re wanting a minifig scale Tie Fighter, purchase the instructions for Jerac’s version. I made 2 plus the Tie Advanced for eventual display.
  13. Martin, Thanks for the feedback on my modifications. Yes i used the 3x3 dish it would be much better if Lego had a 2.5x2.5 dish... I think the proportion would be better, I will probably remove them as I was just testing it to see how they looked. I was able to figure out why the head wouldn’t turn, I had to disassemble the bottom of the base to find the issue... of course it was builder error. So I made another mod that I don’t have pics of, I wanted to be able to move the head w/o opening the door and pulling out the battery pack so I inserted a 1x2 (w/hole) into the door and created a basic switch so now all I have to do is reach behind the model and activate the movement. Thanks for creating this awesome MOC!
  14. So I saw this on brick vault and immediately decided to purchase the instructions. This build type of build is not my norm but the Terminator is one of my favorite movies and the MOC looks fantastic I had to build it. I would like to give props to Martin for creating such an awesome MOC and Brickvault to providing it to the masses. All MOCs that I build I make my own personalization, here are some of the adjustments I made... Martin I hope you approve. Ok, so I was typing and embedding images at the same time and didn’t prevue the post... sorry for the horrible paragraph. Martin I have one question, is there a simple way to get to the gearing? I have an issue where the motor spins but the head won’t move (should have tested before I built the bust). any info would be greatly appreciated.
  15. PM’s sent
  16. Monopodman, Thanks for the comments, the shuttle project was one of the first sets I started making my own adjustments so i spent a lot of time on it. As you have read in the post I do have instructions that I’m willing to send you, are you familiar with LDD? Unfortunately I don’t have any detailed pics and the shuttle is packed away in the closet because I don’t have any room to display my sets. if you want to give me your email I’d be more than happy to send the instructions to you.
  17. so I finally had some time to put the shuttle back together...here’s the finished product.
  18. I found that it was unstable from twisting in the lower frame, made some small stiffening modifications and it's rock solid and will stand "as CAVEGOD said"... forever.
  19. So I haven’t seen anyone post lighting for the cockpit so I took a shot at it and this is what I came up with.
  20. Well I’m at about 99% complete just waiting on my last brick link order to come in. This has truly been an awesome build, thank you Cavegod and Christian for making this a reality for all of us AFOLs.
  21. started installing the electronics
