  1. Well, no one can tell you this by now. However, there are many different approaches how to start a build. Some sort out the parts by colour, some by type. You can also download the building instructions of released sets from TLG's website. Then you can examine the recommended distribution of parts among bags.
  2. Well, someone mentioned earlier that due to the change of the license holder and cancelation of 3D EP I TLG would face difficulties on how to develop the product line further. I guess that there is some truth in this. But i also think that TLG has released quite a few niche sets in the last waves. The decline of the TCW animated series and the exploitation of ever rising prices while world economy is struggling might have led to shrinking sale numbers. Rarely i have seen such tremendeous sales within such a short timeframe. As a consequence - and to revive the general hype about the brand - rehashing older sets sounds absolutely reasonable. While the marketing campaigns for 'Rebels' are about to be set in motion TLG needs some safe bets to rely upon. If someone were new to the SW theme, a star destroyer, cantina, AT-AT, snowspeeder, Anakin with his starfighter, and a bunch of (non animated) clone war sets are pretty good starters to get into the hobby. I suppose that every serious collector needs them. Many (longtime) collectors also desire new iterations with new parts, building techniques and minifigures. The mentioned sets are absolutely iconic. While most of them have already been there, these are still pretty promising hotsellers - as they were when being released first time. TLG also seems to leave the policy of completely mixing sides which might have led to some dissatisfaction for customers. The sets still appeared incomplete. Something is always missing. This might be the explanation for such a quick rehash of the snowspeeder as an example. As a newbie, one does need it. As an army builder, one can get many of it without having to pay for too much excessive stuff. The new sets concentrate on what matters most i think. Personally, i will buy a lot of the next wave and will also go for multiples. The last waves saved me a lot of money because i could focus on very few interesting sets. Since EP V is so popular among fans, there is a good hope that we might see Cloud City - and be it as an exclusive - in the near future, i hope. May the force be with us!
  3. Ah, thank you. I'll check TLG's website for more info on it.
  4. Until tomorrow, there is a tremendeous sale for some LEGO sets on 'buch.de'. There i got the army for 22,10 € each! (Use 'WINTER15') as coupon code.
  5. Just bought two more of 79012 Mirkwood Elf Army on a tremendeous sale. Now i can recreate a complete Elven castle. It's impressive how fast and far the Hobbits sets decline in prices. Still, apart from the mentioned set, i only bought Bag's End - the rest simply does not fit into my range of interest. Even at 30+% off, i don't know what for i should get them.
  6. Probably it's a strange question but what is this Yoda chronicles stuff all about? Is it part of TCW? Here in Germany we don't get any ads or movies/short films or whatever about it.
  7. I share the same impression with many of you: While the Phantom looks odd, the B-Wing seems to be a complete overhaul of the old one. I will definitely get it if the price is right.
  8. With all this rant, i'd like to state something positive. I am actually pretty happy that we do get a Mos Eisley Cantina, a set as anticipated as overdue. While i would have loved to see as many alien minifigs as anyway possible - and admittedly something as exotic as an Aqualish would have been great - i simply welcome a new iteration of the Cantina. It contains so much we would have missed otherwise.Several Biths, a DEWBACK (!!!), finally a new Greedo, a redesigned xp-34 landspeeder and a build that's kind of worth it's name. And all this at a reasonable price, it seems. I really look forward to get this set and plan to get at least two of it...
  9. Good to know, thanks. When do the toy fairs open their gates?
  10. Reading the brief reports available, i feel quite appetized - especially by the OT sets. Will we get to see legal pictures anytime soon? Are visitors allowed to take pics of the exhibited sets at the upcoming toy fairs?
  11. Maybe. All i could see as of yet seems to be a great leap forward from the previous (mini-)set. Sounds good. Hopefully you are right. Would be great if there was a bridge as wee had it in 6211. Yep! Expectations are high and the choice of sets to be released is pretty promising! TLG 'has to' do their best and there is still a chance for improvements at this time. This might change tomorrow. Since i have no idea of the London fair - will the new sets be shown there in all their beauty?
  12. Finally bought 75020 Jabba's Sail Barge and got another 75015 Corporate Alliance Tank Droid.
  13. Signed on ROTJ Luke! However, he has hair and not the commando helmet. And i also think that this minifigure could be easily assembled with his face and the Endor BP too easily. Thus my guess is Luke 'last and first of the Jedi'. Did i already mention that i would love that?
  14. My bet for the 15th anniversary 'jubilee' set is Cloud City - another great aspirant of becoming a hotseller! For the remainder of the yet undisclosed sets i lean toward the expectation of a TIE Interceptor to complement with the re-emerging OT fleets...
  15. Please try 'Wuher' or just peek in here: http://starwars.wikia.com/wiki/Wuher Yes, i agree. It would be great to have the SW universe furtherly expanded by this colourful era. I think so, too. More minifig molds (aliens! ) would indeed be highly welcome. At this price tag however, i don't think that we get more than 8 minifigs. Maybe the set is modular or we get some smaller addon to make Tatooine a more lively place! How about a moisture evaporator, some Tusken and Jawas. Anyone?! I am afraid you're right. Too bad this era does not seem to be explored any further by TLG. I was sceptic in the beginning but the excellent reviews on this forum had changed my mind. While the Republic Fighter remains ugly as hell, the general subtheme is really appealing (no, i don't play the online game and still own all sets - some even mutiple times) and the minifigs are plain awesome! IMHO 75025 Jedi Defender Cruiser is a pinnacle of TLG design and set composition in it's own right...
  16. I gladly explain it to you: As with every wave, prelim pics get leaked (be it on purpose or not - TLG knows well that this cannot be avoided entirely... ). It may be a surprise to you but interested customers tend to discuss about what they see and expect from a set. Since the prelims are only prelims - the reception of the anticipated sets might still have impact whether there will be changes on design/set composition etc. pp. We know that TLG employees visit these pages sometimes - at least some staff member will report some summary to the community managers. Long story short: Yes, i feel free to express my thoughts and Yes, i wish to comment on what i like or not.
  17. Impressive, most impressive! I bow before this masterpiece!
  18. Huh - that's not what i was looking forward to... But thank you for this first impression!
  19. I revisited the prelim pics available. To my eyes the bridge is roughly 4 studs high (and only in the center). I am afraid that this is too small for a minifig to even sit there... I also miss the front window. I seriously hope that the bridge will be subject to some changes for the final retail version. Scale right or not - the ISD needs a bridge where 2 minifigs can stand. And be it pretty close to each other. I am also very curious on the interior of the destroyer. The piece count sounds promising... Having seen the landspeeder a little closer, i guess that the colour scheme is at least better than the previous one (which i luckily own). The AT-AT prelim pic can only be a placeholder. It looks like a copy of 8129 which only has 815 parts. At 1,100+ the new model is supposed to offer some more size and new design...
  20. Is this animated series ('Rebels') in the style of the goulish CW stuff with clothed skeletons and their oversized heads and eyes? Do we have any (prelim) pics of the cast yet?
  21. While the left part of the cantina pic is bretty much blurry, it still seems to be a fairly complete set. I like those and look forward to this upcoming classic. The landspeeder in red would be even better however - as others have already pointed out.
  22. Well, there certainly is some kind of a masterplan buried behind the schedule we have gotten to know of. However this may look like - i for my part won't change preference towards the Hobbit sets. I only got two different of them (Bag End and the Mirkwood Elves) and only because those sets do fit into the LOTR setting. The rest of the Hobbit line doesn't - no reason to buy them for me... Sometimes it is that easy. I won't leave hope yet but if we don't get any serious news/leaked pics by mid 2014 at the latest - then i would guess that the line has been left ultimately.
  23. Yes. that's what came to my mind, too. I already wondered wheter minifigs are meant to sit on the bridge. I seriously hope that the bridge size won't be less than on the ISD from 2006! In this regard - can there be hope that TLG might change anything about it by now or is finalisation of such elements (not a placeholder in this case i suppose) is already done? While Wuher would be nice to have, i would still prefer an alien species minifig instead of him. Many minifigs and parts from different sets could be used to make the barkeeper, alien heads are much more difficult to get...
  24. I read it here some time ago and now it is seriously being discussed - the LOTR line is about to end half way??? Sry, but i can't get it - really! While i have a knack for (civil) castle line sets, this remains a mystery for me. I can hardly believe that TLG leaves such a theme before exploring the license thoroughly. Reminding me of the LEGO LOTR packshot posted some time ago, there is just a lot left to be done. Some Gondorian set and the witchking on his mount would as logical as desirable choices for finishing the theme. Unlike marvel and superheroes stuff, LOTR is famous all around the world and actually can easily be merged/combined with another product line (castle/kingdoms). So i hope that the decision of TLG to leave LOTR is neither final, nor official.
