  1. That's a fine caption of the audience room in the palace. You did a very good job!
  2. While i am not so into the really big and expensive sets, the Sandcrawler looks good to me. To justify the rumored price tag, there have to be some more detail and play features, however. Maybe we get one of the Lars' huts or two?
  3. Well, on the "May the 4th", will only be LEGO SW sets being reduced or is there any chance that other sets will be on sale, too? Is there any other upcoming sale (Happy Easter or so) to be expected until then?
  4. While this is imagineable, i think that there is a more obvious option: Finally, after 11 years we may get a new Cloud City set! Time is overly due and it certainly would be a cash cow for TLG. To nourish this, some forum member on a gerrman lego forum said that he heard a rumor from someone he knows that some 'big and round shaped' set would be in the works. This would also - almost - be true for a new UCS Falcon but the last iteration of it is much younger - and i also like the idea of a new Cloud City way more. Such a set would be a worthy 15th anniversary special release!
  5. Ah, thank you! I am looking forward to it. Hopefully release in Germany won't be that much later...
  6. Some time ago, news were spread that a new and updated book featuring all LEGO SW sets would be released in the near future. Do we actually have any news when it will be available - and maybe which minifig we can expect?
  7. Well, from a market perspective, this seems to be an understandable move. EU items sell well for highly immersed fans. But TLG has to face market contenders on a mass market. To keep the selling numbers right, you need cash cows. OT has proven to be such one, EU not. Cartoon series work for a time and may make kids get into LEGO seriously. Does anyone remember Cad Bane?! AFAIK he was some blue TCW goon. He's gone and certainly won't come back. The same will happen to the rebels series. They come and go. EU stuff simply can't keep up with the epic timelessness of the OT. Drama and big themes in an almost perfect mix. We'll likely see some PT set here and there but the focus is clear. Don't get me wrong. There were quite a few good EU sets and i desire to get the Rogue Shadow (i loved the TFU video games) but left the dark age too late. Luckily i have all SWTOR sets (although i didn't ever play the MMORPG). I will miss that subtheme. Just have a look at the discussion in the rumor''s thread. The majority is up for the straight OT sets, it's all too obvious. Admittedly, i belong to that group.
  8. I beg to differ. I see it the other way round. With the purchase of 75014 (which has a fair price in Germany - that's rare!) one does not need the new snowspeeder. Same is for the snowtroopers. Unless one is a hardcore completist, there is no need to switch over to the new ones. The white kama is nice but not too strong a reason for going after the whole sets when owning the corresponding items of the recent past.
  9. After examining pics from various sources (thanks to all who have posted a link! ), i must say that my enthusiasm remains pretty high! Overall, this is a very interesting wave which offers quite some variety. This is good in it's own right. I will most certainly leave the Rebels TV series as what it is - a random cartoon that i have too little time and ambition to ever watch. This put aside, TLG's iteration of the minifigs and ships might make for a worthy addition to the SW universe. They are a mix of being odd and generic at the same time. Just like the SWTOR sets this is what makes this universe a little more diversified and interesting. A freighter and a shuttle, some (new) aliens and other people seeking their fortune. I might go for the sets at a serious discount. For people (like me) who already own the predecessor sets, the AT-AT and snowspeeder really aren't necessary to get. Some minor change here and there but apart from the better roof of the AT-AT cockpit, i cannot see anything that i feel an urge to own. The change of the snowtroopers remains a mystery to me. The helmets don't fit with the eyes and i honestly must say that i like the previous snowies much more. Except for the leg printing, there was little to improve. I will gladly pass those. The Cantina is less than being hoped for but way better than what it could have been. From a general perspective, it is a huge improvement over the old one and offers new minifigs as well as new parts and display/play value. Aliens and animals, which we yet have fairly few of, are always good! Quite a lot seems to be executed well. Hopefully, a cape with matching color for ObiWan will be part of the set. The dewback is a little static but a valuable addition to everyone's collection, i think. I will get it for sure! The Star Destroyer can be judged in a similar manner. I consider the lack of a playable bridge as a missed opportunity. The main interior room has to make up for that. We have some different areas where minis can pose and kids can play. There could have been more elements but the general concept is well thought. The design of the exterior (dagger) shape and the interior places, elements and decoration is well done, i think. The minifigs are all excellent. The new hats for the crew look very close to the filmed material. I will get it for sure! The Jedi Scout Fighter is an interesting design, too. But to me, i cannot see any place for it in the SW universe. I would have expected it to appear among some of it's brethren in some sci-fi video game. The minifigs are ok except for the Ithorian, which is outstanding. Sadly, i won't spend that much money for just one fig that is supposed to appear in some OT set - and hopefully will. Time for a new B-Wing was due, i guess. It's the only OT rebel starfighter we haven't gotten in the last few years. The build and shape seem pretty accurate and show improvements over the 2006 version. The minifigs are very good, too. Getting more and different helmets is very nice. EU character General Airen also is a reasonable addition to the rebels's staff. Did i already mention that i love alien minifigs? Ten Numb with his ship and comrades will certainly find a path to my collection's hangar! One last note - it might be the lighting but the minifigs seem to be a little bleached. I am used to stronger color. Maybe it's the material and some new plastic was used?!?
  10. I guess they are supposed to come with the new wave's sets. TLG already did that with larger LOTR sets in the past. Had a closer look at the sets again and quite some of my hopes have come true. ISD, cantina and B-Wing will definitely be added to my collection. However, i am still puzzling about the prices in Germany. USA pricing seems reasonable but i do remember Jabba's Palace (139.99 EUR) all too well. Had to wait ages until a general price drop inevitably happened... Hopefully we will get some more close shots of the destroyer soon!
  11. Thanks for the links! Maybe it's me but i get the impression that at least some minifigs are not yet finished in either color or accessories. Greedo looks so 1999'ish. Despite the printing, Ben also looks a little incomplete without a cape. Many other minifigs seem to be bleached or simply lack solid differentiation of similar colors.
  12. Sry, maybe i just don't get your point. My one is that we already get a new Chewie mold in 75042 these days.
  13. Bought 66449 3 in 1 Superpack. The included sets are must-haves so getting them again at this price does not hurt, anyway.
  14. Thanks Archer and Zzz. This does indeed clarify quite a bit! My anticipation has ignited again.
  15. I have seen the named prelim pic of the cataloque. But having done this does not let me actually 'know' anything but which sets are about to be released. That's what i am referring to - he has seen the upcoming sets in person... Maybe this can be clarified.
  16. Subscribed! Well done!
  17. A big thanks to Zzz for sharing this valuable info with us! Generally spoken i feel comfortable with the announced wave of sets. It's going to be an expensive summer, i guess. Cantina and ISD - and some yet secret sets (a new Cloud City and TIE Interceptor, anyone?! ) - are the most important sets to me. While the cantina looks good and can be complemented with some existing sets, i have some issues with the anticipated Star Destroyer. This is probably the set, which i expected the most and 6211 was a main reason to leave my dark years. I am a bit saddened that the bridge won't be playable. It seems to be better scaled in comparison to the rest of the ship but 6211 was better in this regard. Hopefully the standing base for the destroyer won't be entirely flat as Zzz posted. The prelim pic (box) shows hte ISD dagger shaped with some angular build in all directions going from the nose. Being entirely flat on the bottom would also steal away valuable room from the interior. Thus i pray for a closed interior without notable gaps and a representative overall shape of the whole of the ship. The hole in the bottom must be there for a reason. I assume that either some capsule will be included or that the microfighter TIE Interceptor fits through the 'hangar bay'. The set composition of the snowspeeder at this astonishing price (39,99 EUR!!!) remains a mystery to me. Easy pass when owning a flying circus of 5 already.
  18. This is an extremely well depicted MOC in the style of the latest TIE Fighter. It would make very well among the official system sets! Hopefully TLG catches this up and will soon (!) release an Interceptor like this!
  19. You got me - for a second i beame afraid that this calamity could actually happen. But since Vader is being included in the ISD and not this skull thingy Inquisitor is part of the set and since the ship wasn't part of the 'Rebels' presentation at Nuremberg, i guess that the ISD will fit with the other OT (classics) sets of the wave.
  20. Me, too! To me, it seems as if the cartoon guy is about to start weeping in an instant! Ah, an insider! Well, one must think on a grander scale! While Merkel wishes to save Europe from bancruptcy, the Stormies strive to save a whole galaxy - from Rebel insurgents, however. Long story short: Don't get me wrong. I definitely WANT Stormtroopers. But to each his own. I for my part start to slip away from interest for the Rebels cartoon crap series already...
  21. I sorted the pics of the upcoming sets we got yet and had a closer look at the minifigs. It seems that some of them don't have a leg printing. While some of them may not be supposed to ever get any leg printing, some of the minifigs already got it in the (recent) past. It would be annoying if TLG were to continue giving us mixed minifigs which should be identical. It's a mess for collectors like me. Stormtroopers and Rebel Pilots are prominent examples. The prelim pics show them without a leg print although it would mean no effort to add existing prints. Yes, those are prelim pics. I just hope that adding the leg print for the minifigs won't be forgotten in the final retail versions - just to get it in the next wave again.
  22. Yeah! Thanks for the heads up! This finally makes clear that standing minifigs won't fit into the bridge. That's actually sad. If TLG reads this - please let us put minifigs onto the bridge! Apart from this, the model looks pretty accurate when being compared to the original: http://static4.wikia.nocookie.net/__cb20070424053724/starwars/images/a/a7/ISD_arrow.jpg Apparently the piece count was seriously reduced - for whatever reason! Dunno what elements have been cut from it. Hopefully nothing of major importance (the bridge???). Maybe they have used more bigger parts for the hull and thus reduced the amount of greebling etc. I hope that the hull will be closed and there are no ugly gaps.
  23. Yes, there isn't much between us. As mentioned, TLG is going back to the roots. A snowspeeder is a must have - as is the AT-AT. The 'dual-complementary-set' concept is a good idea and it's fair, too. Now you can army build on your favourites without getting too much excess stuff to pay for. Regarding the speeder itself, there certainly are changes about it. The piece count is evidently higher and i expect the vehicle to be actually bigger. Same goes for the AT-AT. While toy fair visitors said that the size would be the same, i expect the walker to be broader in width. 8129 was a little slim. I don't mind TLG adding playability features to the sets. Lego is a toy, actually. After all, no one is required to make use of the flickfires, shooters or whatever. One can even leave them out entirely.
  24. That's great! Thank you. I already like this set very much! If adequate colours are being used on the speeder, Luke has a lightsaber, too and Obi Wan has a cape and cloak this set will fulfill one of my Lego dreams! Thanks for letting us know. Still, i cannot see the sandcrawler there. Maybe it was taken away. Any news on the star destroyer?
  25. Really impressing MOC! You spent a lot of love into details! BTW, where did you get the red, decorated Twi'Lek head part from?
