  1. Ah, thanks for the heads up! I too have overseen it. At least this appearance is mentioned in the expanded dictionary correctly.
  2. Thank you, Robert. I checked it at S@H and the website also says so. Thus there is one more mistake about the expanded visual dictionary. However, i still like the book. I have to ask one more thing: According to some online sources, the sentinel class shuttle (imperial landing craft similar to the lambda class shuttle) had been added to a special edition of EP IV and been given some screen time. Not owning this edition - is it true or just a rumor? Is there any pic or video sequence about the "real" thing available?
  3. Does anybody know the exact piece count for the new ISD? My two ones are still boxed until i find time for building. Most online sites cite it at 1359 or so pieces. My expanded dictionary, however, says that the set has 1175 pieces.
  4. Ordered yesterday: 75054 AT-AT 75055 Imperial Star Destroyer (the second one - i will go for a whole squadron of them ) 75058 MTT
  5. 2 x Death Star Troopers Battlepack.
  6. I ordered: 75050 B-Wing Starfighter 75052 Mos Eisley Cantina 75055 Imperial Star Destroyer Really happy to finally get them!
  7. Thank you for this very good review and the additional pictures! It just is a great set! Containing a structure, a vehicle, an animal and an iconic collection of hard-to-get minifigs! Thinking of the torches/lamps, moisture evaporator, animal food try and the elements of the bar, there also are many small details i love so much about the more 'civilian' sets TLG does create.
  8. Recently bought 75031 TIE Interceptor (Microfighters). A nice little thing. I plan to mod it so the pilot actually looks through the front window. Also acquired the updated and expanded visual dictionary. Getting this rare minifig is ok but not the reason to get the book. It just is a nice summary of TLG's works since the start of the line in 1999. Kind of an astounding evolution since then.
  9. Well, by the looks of it, i like the new MTT. Not yet owning one, i would like to add it to my collection. 99,99 €? Huh, if this were true, then i would wait for a long time and a serious sale. If the price were within a reasonable range, i'd not step back from wanting one.
  10. Today i had the chance to have a look on the new waves's sets on the shelf. I could hardly suppress the urge to immediately buy the ones i seek (ISD, Mos Eisley Cantina). But due to TLG's pricing policy in Europe, i have to stay patient until the usual 20% off sales show up. Two things about the ISD: Although i stick to my statement above, the ISD at least has the same price tag as in the US and therefore is "only" 36% more expensive here. The second thing is the printing on the back of the box. It is pretty blurry. Has anyone else noticed that? Maybe a misprint of one charge shipped?
  11. The summer wave is about to hit Germany now. TRU and Galeria Kaufhof for example already have them listed as being available immediately. They come at RRP: 75048 The Phantom: 29,99 € 75049 Snowspeeder: 39,99 € 75050 B-Wing Starfighter: 59,99 € 75051 Jedi Scout Fighter: 69,99 € 75052 Mos Eisley Cantina: 79,99 € 75053 The Ghost: 99,99 € 75054 AT-AT: 119,99 € 75055 Imperial Star Destroyer: 129,99 €
  12. A big thanks for sharing the ISD pics this early. A great and iconic set! an absolute 'must have' for me!
  13. Thank you TWP for posting the pictures! Generally spoken this seems to be a very good wave to me. Since it contains a nice selection of many iconic OT sets, it's very good for people to start a collection. I consider it to be a good move on the part of the license contractors that they chose those memorable items and minifigs. Not owning any set from before 2007 my shopping list is fairly long. In my opinion, the cantina is the biggest winner of the wave. It contains a bit of everything any SW fan does like. Exotic aliens, a flashy vehicle, a big animal/beast, a memorable place/scenery where the original story took place in diorama style and more general, a few (new) minifigs that are and will remain hard to get by other means. Altough the ISD seems to be a deal smaller than the previous one, it comes a close second, i think. The characterisitc dagger shape, clear design features and minifigs make it a very attractive set to own. No collection can be considered complete without an ISD. I miss the bridge as a playable interior section. Thus the main hull has to do what usually is on the bridge. But the pics of the interior we have seen as of yet look quite appealing to me. The B-Wing is the last Rebel Alliance Fighter in system scale that we didn't get since 2006. Therefore i'd like to add it to my collection. The overall design is good altough Hrafnblod stands correct. These are the sets i will buy for sure. Cantina and the ISD probably more than once. The rest will be a question of spontaneous decision after i have seen the sets in real life. However, being a resident of Germany, i will require a big deal of patience. As usual, the price tag here will be even more increased for no reason. Not wanting to be dumbed down and ripped off, i will have to wait for serious sales of 20+% off.
  14. I strongly recommend you to read the "Darth Bane Trilogy". You will get to know where from and why there was a rule of two being invented... Palpy actually had nothing to do with it... To stay on topic, with Revan being confirmed to be the promo minifig, TLG forces me to buy something at RRP from them (again). With the last waves being a bit weak and me already owning everything of interest, i do not yet know what to get. Too bad the summer wave won't arrive in time. It is about to become the best wave in years...
  15. Yes, you are guessing right! If this would become true, i will see what sets to buy for getting him at least once. I was and am really fond of Revan. He is one of my favourite SW characters. Having him in LEGO form would be great. Still, the choice is a bit surprising. Being an EU person, he is not as famous as the protagonists of the movies. You might have heard of 'Knights of the old Republic'. It was a video RPG for PC and xbox released in 2003. Few games have received such uniform praise. It got dozens of 'game of the year' awards. Revan is the main protagonist of this pretty immersive story. Just peek here: http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Star_Wars:_Knights_of_the_Old_Republic
  16. Just as a few sales fired, i answered in a sufficient manner: Ordered another 79007 The Battle at the Black Gate 79008 Pirate Ship Ambush Owning the whole of the subtheme, i do not regret purchasing any single set. With TLG focusing on The Hobbit, i can entirely foucs on SW.
  17. Bought another 79006 Council of Elrond. One of the most beautiful sets TLG did ever create in regards of a medieval / fantasy line. I am so sad that the LOTR line got dropped...
  18. Bought a second 9516 Jabba's Palace. At 29% off (equivalent of 138,08 USD), it wasn't that far from US RRP.
  19. Can be seen in my signature. Wait, i'll update it with a new TIE Interceptor...
  20. Btw., why isn't the first page of this thread being updated with pics of the sets already released? There are plenty of official pictures around already. Usually theses pics are a good incentive for more forum members to participate in the discussion.
  21. Yes, but your statement remains correct. It seemingly cannot be stressed often enough. And yes, i entirely share your sentiment on the price tag. Regarding the design itself, it is likeable. I see great improvement in build and funcionality alike. Leaving nostalgia aside, this one is way better than the previous blocky iteration. Nevertheless, i can understand every owner of the old one to pass this as the sandcrawler isn't the most important top SW item one is supposed to have. Still, design, build and minifigure composition of the new set make the old one look a little odd. Comparing the set size to the designer's very self, this set really makes for a highly and eye-opening object to exhibit on a shelf or in a glass cabinet. Loving civilian sets, i will lure for a serious discount and maybe got for it then. At RRP (Germany), there is no way i would ever buy it.
  22. Does anyone know how long they need to translate and publish it in Germany?
  23. I guess this strongly depends on the piece count. A set composed of the same minifigs, a similar build and piece count really shouldn't be that expensive. Unless there are plenty of special molds to be made, the rough 10c per piece ratio ought to be feasible.
  24. Well, i actually cannot see any reason to bemoan the content of the upcoming Lego stuff, either. I consider this summer wave the best since i entered collecting Lego SW in early 2011. I saved a lot of money during the very last wave(s) and therefore gladly look forward to Aug/Sept. Still, living in Germany, i have to wait until the starting napper pricing wears off. Being supposed to be ripped while the sets get produced a mere 300 miles away, we pay 40-80% more than our fellows across the Atlantic. One simply cannot buy anything until the 20% off sales make their start. But then i will buy a big deal of the summer wave. Regarding the Sandcrawler i lack access to the insight of the old clutz being any better than the tuned design we get to see yet. The pricing seems astrnomic but i reserve any judgement until i see the whole of the set. While the minifig choice for the expanded dictionary doesn't fit my taste, i will buy the book anyways once it's translation will be published in Germany.
  25. I guess i ought to be a bit more precisely. Will TLG or S@H respectively have any sale or 'double VIP points' action until May the 4th? I think that this is more than only a rumor. It already disappeared from S@H in Germany (was sold out at half the price) and i guess that the 'national stock' is shrinking at a tremendeous rate. I cannot speak for the rest of the world but as far as i know, TLG abandoned production of the set and it will disappear anytime soon. Regarding the set itself - i can highly recommend it. It's super iconic and has a nice collection of minifigures. Get it unless it goes at RRP (139,99 EUR in Germany, which was outrageous)!
