Fantastic! My favorite is the heaters in every room - something that could be easily forgotten.

No, I agree, I dont think any of my dream-licenses would ever materialise. They stay just that - a dream...

Lacking new LoTR sets, I would have liked a mediaval-like substitute, like the Elder Scrolls series. Skyrim in itself would be OK, but when (if?) the next game in the series surfaces, that could be the starter point. As could a new film or series over The Three Musketeers - we already have the Musketeer from the CMF series 4, we just lack all the buildings and carriages. Likewise, as Star Wars is pretty much exhausted in making new interesting space vehicles, another space license could be nice, like Battlestar Galactica. The problem with that is of course, that the show stopped in 2009. The same could be said about the inspiration for Star Wars, the french comic book Valerian et Laureline. A fantastic universe, but unfortunately not present in any media now. If the Jules Verne books/films got a revival, there would be lots of interesting builds there.

LEGO City 2020 - Rumors, Speculation, and Discussion
ArneNielsen replied to Digger of Bricks's topic in LEGO Town
Look at the back of the box: the tram is definately not connected to any tracks, it stands alone, as does the kiosk -
Just got that postcard-folder from one of my collegaues (who knows I like LEGO). Unfortunately there are only 15 postcards left; the rest have been used as intended - as postcards...! One of those not posted on 1000steine is more resembling a blue castle than a villa - very creative use of what was available of bricks in 1985. http://www.brickshelf.com/cgi-bin/gallery.cgi?i=6658163

LEGO Ideas Discussion
ArneNielsen replied to The Real Indiana Jones's topic in General LEGO Discussion
Friends, Bing Bang Theory, Seinfeld - all of them American sitcoms. Where are all the rest-of-the-World sitcoms - like Parsom said, English ones like Monty Python or 'Allo, or Fawlty Towers, or The Office (original), or... I get it, that they dont make sets from non-English sitcoms (German, Spanish/South American, Korean, Norwegian (Fleksnes!), French, etc.) - but do everything have to be American? -
[MOC] Luxury Fishing Yacht with realistic stern
ArneNielsen replied to Nachapon Bricks's topic in LEGO Town
Very realistic! And I love the Titanic reference at the bow - her face is just perfect for this scenario! -
A couple of Corona-months late with seeing this, but as always its a fantastic flock of minifigs you have made! I must admit though, that I am disappointed that the Zulu Warrior is not brown - it just dont look right in yellow. If the nymph can be blue, so a Zulu should be able to be brown. My favorite is definately the violinist!!!!

In that picture, the Athlete looks more like a spear-and-shield gladiator than an olympic gold medal winner...! -

I know this is probably far out, but we have never had a CMF for the most coveted licensed product: Star Wars....! -
The designer of the LEGO Minifigure has passed away.
ArneNielsen replied to Nabii's topic in General LEGO Discussion
I remeber when the floatings boats came out, with the stiffies minifigs - that meant the World to me, as I now had people to play with as well as buildings and vehicles. I had LEGO before that, but the figs started my LEGO obsession for real - and of course it only multiplied with the introduction of the actual minifig. Jens died of ALS, just like another genius, Stephen Hawkins - it could also be called the Genius Killer Disease. -
Very clever use of cross-wrenchs for the fence!

LEGO Collectable Minifigures Series 20. Rumors and discussion
ArneNielsen replied to Robert8's topic in Special LEGO Themes
Actually its not a spring, but a feather/plume... And this is "female minifigure" - maybe this is supposed to be a heptathlon athlete (javelin and shot put is two of the 7 disciplines in Women Hepthalon)? -

LEGO City 2020 - Rumors, Speculation, and Discussion
ArneNielsen replied to Digger of Bricks's topic in LEGO Town
In the German link it clearly said, that 60621 was a 4+ set, with a small building, and a small plane. Good thing is, that there are no stickers in 4+, but I certainly have my doubts about the airport building being little more than a front (like the Arkham 4+ set). -

And the famed "The Guarded Inn" was all about alcohol - it was not water, that medieval inns sold in goblets... -
Amazing! And now I want to play Fallout 4 again, where this hut is pictured very similar to your great build

There is no real equivalent to a Nisse in English or American folklore. The nearest is the Irish Leprechaun. A nisse likes to mock and tease, and at Christmas you set out rice pudding to the farms local Nisse, to prevent him from turning the milk from the cows sour. But unlike the Leprechaun, a Nisse dont have anything particulary with gold to do.

Has LEGO ever listened to AFOLs? If so, when?
ArneNielsen replied to Lego David's topic in General LEGO Discussion
Not the same, I know, but at least back in the 70ties, TLC used adult test-builders. After a set was designed, but before it was put on the market, a number of boxes were distributed to test-builders, who commented on the box, the building instructions, and the bricks supplied. Thats the reason, that some old sets had additional error sheets in the building instructions. So in that respect, yes, they did listen to AFOLS. And speaking of sources, this comes from a primary source: Me. I was one of the test-builders back then. -
Specialized pieces are no big deal! Or are they?
ArneNielsen replied to Lego David's topic in General LEGO Discussion
Which is indeed true for most AFOL's. I am partial to that, as for me its also about presentation - and a brick-printed curve in my eyes looks better and more realistic than a brick-build curve (the slots in the macaroni-bricks irritates the hell out of me). But I cant call myself a true purist AFOL, as I also tend to combine with non-LEGO if I find something that suits me better. Not only custom bricks and clones like MB, but even Playmobil have been put to good use. Like these Playmobil mugs with foaming beer: https://www.playmobil.dk/røvergilde/6464.html If only LEGO would make those...
