Modular Building Sets - Rumours and Discussion
Hippocampe replied to The Jersey Brick Guy's topic in LEGO Town
Many people in the forum are taking as a certainty that the next modular IS a jazz club / pizzeria, but is it ? Since we are probably 1 week away or less of the reveal, is there someone very close to the Lego group could give us some real hints without actually disclosing it ( ex colors, number of stories, # minifigures, architecture, etc ) ? You may say I’m a dreamer, but I’m not the only one 🎶 as a certain ex-Beatles has sung… -
LEGO Collectable Minifigures Series 24. Rumors and discussion
Hippocampe replied to Robert8's topic in Special LEGO Themes
OMG, what a great collection ! IMO the best one since the series are limited to 12 items. I think I will buy 8 CMF of this serie. Ouch, January 1st will be a tough one on my budget, along with the 2023 Modular (for which the leaks are rather scarce…) -

After a hospital or a school, a « media center » would be on top of my list: a ground floor as a TV studio for news broadcasting, live shows like in the 50-60’, a makeup station, a dressing room with costumes, etc; a second floor for a newspaper with all the typewriters, a newspaper press, many desks, a room for the editor in chief , and a third floor for a radio station Hope to see some leaks soon, whatever it will be ! -

Very happy for the Hotel fans, the product result is rather appealing ! Now how about a school or hospital for 2023 ? Just trying my luck 🍀 ! -

Thank you very much for the perspective: if you’re as skillful with your computer as with your Legos, you surely must create great MOCs ! I also think that placing the BH adjacent to PR is the logical and aesthetical thing to do: the styles and eras are similar; also, we could say that the BH is almost a « double corner » modular since it has windows on the top level on three sides; since the terraces of each set kinda face each other, it allows some space for a better view (nice chimney of PR, beautiful cosy terrace with palm tree of BH) -

I reminds me of a trip to Cannes, a little too long ago before the pandemic… I’m so with you on this point ! There are so many possibilities to mod it, Rebrickable will surely lead the way with some ideas… Also, the Flatiron building is surely not one of the most practical and ergonomic construction inside, but what a landmark ! Style for style in itself, so many pictures would not have been taken if it would not have been built 🥲 Like others have mentionned, I think this is one of the most striking and elegant building since PR and AS. Definitely a day one buy, unfortunately online since I don’t have a Lego store in my city and it would be closed anyway on January 1st in Canada. If it’s like last year, it will be on back order on January 2nd in store… -

How funny it is… Modulars are supposed to be adult oriented toys and there were are (I include myself) more impatient than the most spoiled child who cannot wait to open his Christmas gifts… Has anyone got an idea / insight about the GWP ? -

I also have all the modulars; I love each of them, for different reasons (even MS on which I builded a tennis court on top of the little market). My favorite for the appeal in general is the Parisian restaurant. When I first saw the DD, I was a disappointed a little bit for mismatch of colors and the era that it represents that is quite different from the rest of bunch; I was nicely surprised while building it: the construction techniques were amazing, one of the best of the collection. Now I wouldn’t mind if some of the future Modulars were of other periods of time and style (Art Deco, Beaux Arts, 18-19th century) and reunite the buildings with the same affinities to create city quarters. Can’t wait for the next one… -

Could someone at Second to last week of December ? Not too much time for the budget… The pandemic will have taught us all a word: patiennnnnnnce…I wonder which will come first: the reveal of the 2022 Lego Modular or the arrival of my car, delayed in production because of the chip shortage ! -

If this sketch is representative of the next modular to be, do you think that the upper left squared portion of the sketch (the hotel section) could be the location of an elevator ? Since the hotel theme was already used in the Café Corner without this feature, this could be a nice way to offer another building (and living) experience -

Still hoping for a school, a hospital or media center (newspaper room / radio station / old TV studio); the latter would be more suited for a corner lot, I think. I would not be too disappointed with a hotel although I already have one with the Cafe Corner. Anyway, I’m always happy to have my little Lego building moment during the Holidays ! I also wish for some larger building for the 15th anniversary. -
Just bought it online; at midnight, the site encountered some bugs so I had to delay my purchase till this morning I also had problems with the VIP points: even though my VIP account is in Canada, I sometimes buy some sets in USA, when the exchange rate is favorable ?. Maybe my VIP card was emitted a few years ago in USA, I don’t recall. When I tried to apply the VIP code for the points accumulated, the site mentioned that the code wasn’t valid for this country (Canada). The last time I used my card, it was in a Lego store and I remember that the clerk had some issues to apply the VIP points, but was finally able to do so. Since our stores are closed because of the pandemic until January 11, I didn’t want to miss the GWP (you know, the « while supplies last » thing) waiting for the consumer service to help me for that issue... Happy New Year every one !??

It will be the violinist and the beekeeper for me. I think there is an interesting variety to reach many people (sci-fi, urban, costumes); for that regular CMF collection, since it happens only once a year, 16 MF would have been nice, but I’m OK with only 2 to buy, probably on EB (local Walmart don’t keep CMF anymore and not very inclined to feel the bags at local toy store for a while) -
I found the changes of color in the facade really interesting in the way it can ease the juxtaposition of certain buildings that wouldn’t have fitted so well otherwise. Also, I think it could be usefusul in the future to « break the line » of a bulky, one function building (school, museum, hospital): it could be done just for the style of it or to simulate a building annex.

Again and again ! Even though a police station wasn’t on my top priority subject for a modular, I think this one will have a spot in my city display ! It will make a complementary addition to TH and FB as another public service. I love the classic architecture and enjoy the choice of colors. Also, the publicity board is a nice reminder of a former modular. I wish that this idea - of a publicity board- will be repeated: it could be then integrated in a future modular wall, like a painted mural at the beginning of the previous century, before all the neons signs or even a beautiful graffiti

The dark silhouette of the building seems rather bulky, very squarish, almost gothic in appearance. I wish a classical architecture, almost no matter what’s in it ! -

Absolutely: we had the time to wonder « Am I going to buy this one ? » because the theme or the building itself wasn’t entirely at our taste, and the product had the time to grow on us and we were the first in line to get it on January 1st (not in Canada though...) -

It could be a very piccolo Isetta car, with three wheels and only one door in front ! -

So : a disabled person... A hospital ? A medical clinic ? Or maybe a building with an antique elevator with artsy wrought iron that we are awaiting since TH ? Anyway, we should have all the answers by December 6 or so, like last year ... I’m sooo groopy, I’ll buy it anyway -

I totally agree with you all ! A media center (radio station, television set and newspaper room) or a school (gymnasium, classroom with desks and maps on the walls, chemistry lab) or minihospital (emergency ward, ICU, X-ray room, OR, etc), I’m sure all those models would fit in a 3story building, let’s say the size of TH. Enough restaurants for the moment, more other essential services for our city to reflect reality ! -

I think a school or a little hospital could stand on their own; why not after all: it’s been a while since TH, PC and FB. A school in particular, since the theme hasn’t been approached yet in the Modular universe. A museum also could be a good choice, but I think an hospital or school are more basic or ABC (no pun intended...) in a little city -

This serie will be launch on April 1st as I read; isn’t it unusual ? Is there a possibility that we’ll have 4 series this year ? -

I’m 100 % with you - just looking at all your ideas for CMF, I can’t believe that the Lego designers are lacking inspiration for new themes ... -
Yes, give us some more trees ! We had the latest sets with a car, a truck that are adding a notable amount of pieces that could be used elsewhere. Even though I love my car in the real life, I wish to create here the perfect little cozy town with parks, nice places to contemplate interesting architecture with several retail stores / commerces with plenty of things to do Some people are complaining about the 8 studs of greenery left behind each modular, well this patch can be used to create an interior court with the many balconies overlooking it, a parking for the cars, etc...
