End of support for LDD
grum64 replied to Lasse D's topic in Digital LEGO: Tools, Techniques, and Projects
Would I be right in assuming that someone, somewhere had hold of the wrong end of the information stick and then someone else, somewhere else took hold of the correct end and as a result all's as it was before their game of tug of war? -

Don't tell him that! He's likely to send a Kangaroo to jump all over your 'modern' Lego -

Part Degradation over Time
grum64 replied to nerdsforprez's topic in LEGO Technic, Mindstorms, Model Team and Scale Modeling
Until recently I had 23 Buggy Motors and all worked perfectly. Talking about part degradation. I know this isn't about motors but I few weeks ago I got my 8674 taken out of it's storage box where it's been sitting for around 6 months and found this. Wasn't happy but relatively easy to fix. -

[quote name=Grosse Kind' timestamp='1452635959' post='2437220] Some pomgolian dust from your 8868 Grum, and some from over there via one of the 8865's from that other gentleman Norman Hartford. One thing i love about this model is its lack of stickers and electrics so if the dust bothers me i can just drown and scrub it. Gladly theres not much to pull off the 8880 that would be ruined but can't call that ones isle-trapped seller a gentleman, and the dust can stay anyway. Not like i've finished tinkering with any of them anyway. -
I'm not a MOC builder or an expert builder in any way. Far from it, but to me 'quite good' doesn't do this amazing build justice. I'm genuinely in awe of the abilities of the builders who post their MOCs on these pages and maybe that's why I get a tad irked when it comes to comments like 'quite good' for something I can only dream of building. As I said previously, I wouldn't know where to start.

I know we all have our own opinion on things & that's as it should be but honestly, quite good?! Are we looking at the same model? Also, if you read the text accompanying the pictures and the buiilders subsequent comments you'll find he's very well aware of the models proportions in relation to the real thing and explains the reasons for them.

Upon zooming in on your pics I now see that the dust is UK spec. It must have found its way to Oz on the 8868  -

I have this set somewhere, time I think to hunt it out. Is that dust I see on them there parts Glen? -
I HAVE THIS NOW. THANK YOU. I'm looking for the following LEGO RACERS set: * Lamborghini Polizia (8214) * Ideally I'd like the sets to be complete but a FEW odd parts missing is OK. Please PM.

Opinion on Status of SBrick
grum64 replied to knotian's topic in LEGO Technic, Mindstorms, Model Team and Scale Modeling
I had trouble using the Sbricks with my iPad but that was my fault as I didn't know the iPad 2 wasn't Bluetooth 4.0 enabled. I've since been using my Galaxy S3 and Note 3 and on both it's worked flawlesly. -

I've been had Sbricks for almost 12 months and haven't had any problems with them or the Android app. Jake & George play with my Ultimate 42009 every chance the get and the Sbricks/App have always performed perfectly. I can't fault them. -
