For those in the States Target has some really great prices as well. In stores everything is regular price but online many of the sets are marked down 20% and they are listed as 'regular' prices. First wave some of the sets are marked down even more than that. If you go in the store they will price match their online prices so you don't have to wait for shipping.

LEGO Nexo Knights 2017 Discussion

From these photos I know I am not too thrilled with the Action sets. Certainly seeing what they could do with the little Ninjago polybag mech that was posted on this thread i was really hoping for something more with these $10 sets - or at least I would venture to guess these are $10 in keeping with the Ultimates line. The good side for these at least it is a quick and cheap way to pick up all the knights in their standard printing particularly for Axl. The new tri-shiled piece could be fun and even from these photos it appears to be lots of customization that can happen with these as Aaron looks to have more attached to his shield than the other Action sets. I think the mechs just look a little too flimsy and weak to really put in to battle, although I don't think my son will mind that point. Of the builds I am still intrigued by the upside down shields of absorption pieces and their inserts. They appear to be almost characters unto themselves that the Knights are intended to fight. Monstrux in two sets is a plus even though it appears he is a pretty simple build. I wonder if his full manifestation will be a progressive thing and that eventually we will see him brick built in all his glory in later sets. I do like all the Knight vehicles and Clay's new one should look right at home next to Aaron's Aero Striker V2. Lance's I was hoping for another flying vehicle but it looks like it comes with a pretty cool bad guy and appears to be a pretty cool $20 set much like Macy's in the current wave. Ruina's looks pretty fun as well. Looks like a supped up version of the Munster's car or something. Triple Rocker still don't know what to make of that and is probably the set I am most excited to see in the flesh or at least more official pics. Jestro's one looks like a convoluted excavator and not necessarily in a bad way. With so many wheels on this thing I wonder if this has some other function or transforming capabilities. 6 tires in the back and those huge double tires in the front almost looks like those wheels can be turned in to hands of some sort. The little bad guy vehicle that looks like it is included with this set is interesting with what appears to be stud shooters for wheels. Macy's little vehicle looks cute and fun similar to her miniature mace vehicle in the Jestro's Lair set. With the exception of the Action sets I think there is some fun stuff here and certainly has me jazzed to see the full versions and more views of each set. All the trans blue, grey, and purple make for some interesting color combinations but set against the Knights sets presents an overall color scheme that is too similar I think. Too much use of cool colors as opposed to the current sets which pitted the cool colors of the Knights sets against the warmer palette of the bady guys sets. -

Yes, I am curious on the upside down shields and why they are that way as well as what the shield insert will look like. Will be pretty cool to get some of those shield inserts with printing right side up compared to the shield itself being upside down. I am curious as to the theme of this upcoming wave of sets. Not having been around for Ninjago I can't say if these two lines are following the same path but being a long suffering Futurama fan I know that whenever the creators got an order for episodes they never knew if the show was going to come back after that initial run and so they would write in an ending that gave the fans what they wanted and made sure the series went off on a high note. Nexo Knights had an initial order of 20 episodes so I wonder if the creators have written the storyline through 20 episodes creating a conclusion to the storyline but still leaving the door open in the event the show comes back for another order with the current storyline presumable being the defeat of Jestro/Book of Monsters? As we have seen from the new sets this is certainly not the case as Jstro is still around causing trouble and what more than likely will be the full manifestation of the BoM into Monstrux thereby continuing the current storyline on. I guess the question is would this and possibly a second 2017 wave be 'filler' until the fate of the show is determined and a new storyline is developed and produced at which point the building sets would reflect that new direction for the show? -

Any new evil spell books with this run? Was hoping to finish off the collection of 11 spell books. -

I think The LEGO Batman Movie will get the spotlight in NYCC Oh yea - bummer, although I am excited to see some of those sets. What would be the next outlet for seeing these sets? Would it be retailer sites? -
Cape or magic stick? The figure does come with the cape but sadly no magic stick - would have liked to have had that included as well.

Only been able to see a couple of the drawings but have liked what I have been able to see and only ramps up the anticipation for the actual images of these. NYCC was the first photos last year? Will we see photos of actual sets coming out of NYCC or around then? -
I was a little disappointed in the book as well but in looking through some of the other DK books on Lego series it seemed on par for the course. This is the first book I have purchased so I can't say with certainty that others don't offer up more information beyond being a catalogue of sorts. Beyond the figure the best thing I can say for the book is I liked the minifigure lineup at the end of the book. Nice to see the lineup of all the figures to date, although it would have been nice to capture the orange globins of the Beast Master as well just to make it a bit more complete. Fun little tidbits in the book like Lance naming his lances but not much other info. I like having the figure of Merlock 1.0 as well even though he really doesn't fit in anywhere in the Nexo Universe I suppose there could be retro scenes of him fighting some of the lava monsters from when he banished them all and if it is true we are getting Monstrux in the coming wave there is always possibilities for fight scenes between the two of them there but sadly Merlock will be missing his magic staff.

Glad you liked it and glad I could offer up some help.

Same question and an additional question, the new corrupted shields are not the same 'shields of absorption' found in the Ultimate Lavaria, Beast Master, Flama, and General Magmar sets? -

It is funny because when the line was introduced I was not that big of a fan of it but I thought the Ultimate sets were kind of cool and wouldn't mind picking those up to have as a display and my son would probably like playing with them. Then as I started to see more of the line I kind of liked the bag guy vehicles and figured I would pick up some of those. As I started doing some research on the line with reviews I came to like the good guy stuff the most. Once I got the Ultimate sets they kind of went to the bottom of the list as far as what I liked best as I can't say I really like the overall monotone colors of most of the figs. They are not bad it is they just didn't hit with me as much as I thought that they would or that they were intended to. I find I like to mix and match some of the pieces between the regular and Ultimate sets which gives them an overall better look. Regular Aaron looks really good with the translucent armor piece on him and regular shield guard. Clay is a hard one because of the two different blues used for him don't really mesh well for mixing and matching. Of course all in all my son certainly knows the difference and he knows the Ultimate figures are when the Knights power up so I guess it really doesn't matter what I think. :) -

Yea, so I wonder how the Action mech's might go over with everyone if they all come out the same with only color variations to differentiate them or will Lego make modifications for each knight. Sounds like we will still get at least three shields with the new triangle shield carrier so that aspect sounds like it will be the same. I thought the prices were OK but like you I rather get a deal so I waited for sales to pick these up. As there are so many other sources to pick up shields for the game it is not really a big deal for me to get the sets for the shields which is why I am not overly excited about the combo packs. Unless there is something really cool in there I might wait to see if they get heavily discounted and try and pick them up then. I would rather have the building toys than a bunch of shields. -
Hard to say without seeing Clay's new vehicle if one is better to get over the other but for me - I am a sucker for a good deal and as others have said the Rumble Blade is one of the better sets of the first wave. It was one of the first sets I picked up and the first I put together. I figured my son would have a blast with the multiple vehicles aspect of it and being able to take it apart and put it back together again. The only drawback I can see with the set is that the two 'motorcycles' are relatively simple builds and not much going on with them. They look pretty cool and on the model they look cool but on their own they are a little plain. Clay's actual blade vehicle though makes the whole set worth it for me though. That thing is super cool. If I didn't already have it I would definitely get it for the 25 and if they get any lower might pick up another one. Lots of good deals going on right now as Target also has Nexo first wave heavily discounted. The Rumble Blade is definitely up there with the Fortrex and the King's Mech so it is hard to go wrong.

Those wouldn't be too bad I think. Since these were just a polybag build and I would assume the Action sets are minimum $10 similar to the Ultimates I am curious as to what the designers have come up with for these. I also wonder if each mech will be the same build for each knight but with minor color changes similar to the mech horses or will each mech be tailored to fit each knight. Speaking of the mech horses - if Lego had done those as the Ultimates (still with the exclusive figure) for each knight instead of the stand, shields, and accessories would that have been acceptable to everyone? We would have lost a neat little build in 5 of the sets and they probably would have replaced it with something else but I was curious what others thought. -

I guess this is where the 'space suits' concept comes in to play. I am really curious to see these now since this does sound intriguing but I know others have said they look terrible. I am on the fence about the blind pack nexo powers. Provided they are easy to collect and no rarity system is built in to it they might be fun. I just think there are easier and more fun ways to get the nexo powers out to the public. Again thanks for the info 'CM4Sci. -

Cool - the Shields of Absorption make their way formally in to the sets and possibly the show. And Lance with one of them - the plot thickens. :) -

Corrupted shields sounds interesting and wonder what those will look like and how they will play out in the show if it gets that far. Also, Ava captured by Jestro? Also sounds interesting. I am sorry to see some of the current villains may not be moving on to the next phase. I really thought General Magmar is pretty cool and we never really got to know Moltor. All these sets sounded really cool even before the more detailed information so thanks for the enthusiastic info CM4Sci - can't wait to hear more as you get it.
