LEGO Nexo Knights 2017 Discussion
OC_Architect replied to Peppermint_M's topic in LEGO Action and Adventure Themes
That is not unusual for me to have stuff sitting around for months prior to building. I like to build and have fun with it prior to moving on, although time is a big culprit as well. From my experience each Nexo bag comes with one color shield so you should get one of each in each bag. Speakimg of shields it appears that the new battle pack comes with an orange colored tile. The mystery of the orange tiles continues. -

I agree it has been a little slow around here. I did end up picking up a few sets during the double VIP promotion but ended taking them all back because shortly after TRU and Target put the same sets on sale so I went with the cheaper deals and returned everything back to Lego store. I picked up Ruina's Lock and Roller, Three Brothers, and Lance's Twin Jouster. Have not put together Ruina's set yet but am excited to do so. Three Brothers - the set I was most interested in and the first I put together and I really like this set. The vehicle brother is very cool in how he looks and is put together and the added bonus of his chomping feature which is lots of fun. My son and I even had a great time playing with the catapult launcher on his back. Love the minifigs as well and as probably said before - the bad guys are all really cool this year and Reex and Roog don't disappoint. Cool to get Axl in a really cheap set for once as well. After putting together the Three Brothers my son made it clear his favorite was Lance's Twin Jouster and that he wanted to put that together so we ended up doing that one as well. Overall I really like this set as well and another cool bad guy figure with the inclusion of the Rogul (for added fun try adding Batgirls hair piece from the Friends Batcopter set). Not overly thrilled with the separate components on their own as the 'flier' portion seems a little strange and awkward to be a true flier and the remainder portion doesn't look quite finished or polished as all together. I will say that the flier portion connected to the Battle Suit creates one awesome mech suit. We have Clay and Aaron and it looks cool on both. Really bulky and ready to do some damage. Anyways looking forward to some time to put together Ruina's Lock and Roller as well as picking up the two exclusive sets as both look interesting as well. -

I think I would have preferred these to be the general bad guys for this wave as opposed to the ones we did get. -
LEGO Nexo Knights 2017 Discussion

Not in the top selling theme for sure but other properties like Super Heroes were not mentioned in either category nor Elves which I would assume both would continue for the foreseeable future. Of course that really means nothing for Nexo Knights as the plan all along could be to cut it after a set amount of time. It would seem that even moderate success would enable Lego to continue on with the line and the only big question might be is if the designer's have said everything they have to say regarding the sets and or the developers of the show and app. It could be similar to Mixels where Lego decides that they don't want one entity to outlive any of the other three parts and ultimately how committed and how strongly they feel about the line. Years ago Bill Gaines said about EC Comics line of science fiction comics that they all lost money but internally they loved them and so long as their horror titles were popular enough they would continue producing the science fiction line because that's the way they felt about them. I believe they are both different. The TRU one lists as 9 pieces while the Lego one lists as only two (shield and combo shield holder). The TRU seems to be basically a binder with a plate that you can display the shields while the Lego one is more of a storage container similar to a baseball card box. -

Coincidentally enough Lego also has their own version of this which is different. Lego Nexo Knight Shield Storage Theirs comes with a scannable shield and a space to put combo powers to scan in to the game. The description says it only holds 9 powers but that doesn't seem correct to me. Last night to take advantage of the double VIP points picked up the Three Brothers, Lance's Twin Jouster, and Ruina's Lock and Roller. Looking forward to building these guys as I think they are all fine sets. Regarding the new Summer sets I am at a bit of loss for words on them. I am not impressed with them at all which is a shame considering how good I felt these first sets are. I am typically not a fan of bigger sets as they don't usually seem to offer much over more moderate size sets. My favorite based on the photos is Axl's Rumble Maker - that seems like a fun set and am interested to see what transforming features it has or pieces that will combine with the Battle Suits. That is really the only set that I think I am the most interested in as far as seeing and picking up. The Knighton Castle seems a little week compared to the Fortrex and Jestro's Volcanic Lair which are both executed really well. Great minifigure selection and the design certainly has the same characteristics from the show. The Merlok mech I am also interested in. It looks kooky and am excited to see it up close. The Heligoyle has some pretty cool design work on it but it seems like it loses some of those features when looked at from the side - perhaps this is meant to be like Aaron's Aero Striker in that you hold it to fly it around. If it is I don't think it was executed as well as it could have been. I do like Aaron's Rock Climber vehicle but it does look like a recent Ninjago vehicle and has similar shapings to Axl's Tower Carrier. Again - interested in the transforming and combination features to the Battle Suits on this one. Stone Colossus - great name but this looks so big and chunky and blocky that it loses a lot of appeal for me. I like that they include the 'crown' for collecting all the forbidden powers to waken him but again the execution seems a little blocky and not much mobility for something so big. It is disappointing that there are no small sets with this wave as well. I always look forward to the $10 sets and the closest we get is Macy's Drop Bot Dragon. Aahh, poor Macy relegated to the smallest set again. This to me suffers the same as the Heligoyle in that from certain angles it looks really nice but from others not so great. i like the idea of a mechanized dragon and so am interested to seeing this firsthand as all the other sets. Also, this seems like an awfully big box for a $15 set. -

From the leaked photos at least they had a date of June as a release date. That seems kind of early but i suppose being sandwiched between the LBM sets, another wave on the wave, and Ninjago dominating the second half of the year maybe it makes sense. Oh, and I think I know what the new purple/blue knight is. Just a guess at this point but after seeing all the things pisodes it makes sense. -

A few more days I guess until the hysteria begins again. :) Looking forward to finally getting some clearer pics of the new sets and anything else that might be on the horizon. I thought I had posted this already but I guess I didn't but looks like another Nexo book will be coming this year which will be a checklist for the Nexo powers. The Lego website has them all listed but it is a little difficult to sift through them all in a meaningful way. Pocket Book of Powers -
Lego Nexo Knights TV Series Discussion

Does anyone have an episode listing for season 3? The episodes have shown up on demand from my cable provider but they only give info on title and not episode number so I am having difficulty watching them in order. Wiki has the first three episodes listed but that is all. From what I have seen so far it has been a fun season and much more developed and engaging. -

CN hasn't shown anything but I did notice today that episodes are on demand but the first episode is not available. Debating on picking up the Volcanic Lair or a bunch of the new stuff. Been waiting along time but the new stuff is so cool I feel. Decisions decisions. PS - when is Toy Fair again? -

Been a little slow around here lately. LEGO store has the battle packs on sale currently for 50% off if anyone is still looking for them. Also had a chance to see some clips of the new season of which Macy's drop bot was shown. At least from the show perspective it had a bit of a helicopter dragon feel to it. Interested to see the LEGO version. Oh and the new season looks like it will be pretty good. -

Not sure but it looks like with the Summer wave there is another Rogul included in one of the sets. Not sure if it is the same one or a new Rogul character. Ooh - more wizards??!? That would be cool to see. We haven't gotten the new shows as of yet so haven't seen any of them yet. -

Thanks for the info. Plan on picking up that along with the Book of Monsters at some point. All to say as well that at least in the sets she really hasn't changed. Robin at least go an ultimate set, along with armor, and is already represented with his crest. This on top of everything else an alternate print for the Black Knight set while Ava (who to me has a more prominent role in the show) has stayed the same. Need more attention to the female characters I think. ?? Is this different than the other staffs he has had previously? The Evil Mobile has one and I believe the Volcanic Lair has one as well. I think from the Headquarters set there are some 'new' staff builds for the Forbidden Powers. -

I was surprised as well considering many of the in house items were displayed. I did see pics of large brick built figures so it would appear NK was represented at the show in some form. -

I don't know if I ever took that rumor very seriously. This came from the SDCC panel in 2016 that there could be a purple knight and that he could be a prince but I think they more making an illusion towards purple being the color of choice for Prince the singer. Yes, I think both Robin and Ava need an upgrade since both were given knighthood or honorary knighthood. Robin has a crest but Ava has never gotten one. -
Hey thanks for the review @ZORK64 much appreciated. I really like this small little set and it has yet to make its rounds to the US so am eagerly awaiting its arrival. From your pic I counted 51 pieces and with 3 spare that would make the piece count 48 - anyone else with enough time on their hands to verify? (I am keeping a tabulation of parts within the Nexo Knights realms - it's what I do)

The sets all look pretty cool and interesting but I am reserving my comments until we get better photos and or more official release. Beyond that in all the excitement I think we may have glossed over some important information. The date on these say June 2017. Is that the release date? Also, looking at the Crafting Kit a bit more it would appear it is some sort of game or Nexo power matching game. It looks like the main component is a spinner with a big arrow that you land on a forbidden power and you have to develop a shield combo to battle that power. That would at least be consistent with the updated game as it will tell you how your combo powers stack up against a forbidden power and even try it out before using it in the game. My guess is that there are no actual shields included as the cover shows the shields with their power stats. Just a guess though. -

I always forget about that mech as it only appeared in the first episode and nothing since then. I agree that would make a fun build to have particularly now with the Battle Suits. I have not seen a parts list for it but the instructions are readily available online and it only contains 42 pieces. I don't know if they are rare or difficult to get but the set does utilize 4 of the new angled sloped pieces along with two of the new trans orange wheel pieces. Everything else seems to be pretty common though and if you are in to Nexo Knights you probably already have most of those pieces. Interesting - seems like it is very similar to the introductory polybag from last year where you got a minifigure, a keychain, and some stickers. On the packaging not much in the way of actual Lego's shown but it is interesting that the theme of it is all first year villains and monsters as opposed to stone/lightening monsters but still utilizing forbidden powers. Also see by the set number it falls in to the category of promotional items so I am guessing it will be primarily a bag of stickers and just the keychain and will be a giveaway at some point at the Lego Store. -

Want to get that one as well (although I like all the polybags) but have not had a chance to make it to a local TRU. Picked up the A Wing pilot actually a week or so ago now that I think about it. I miss not having LEGOLAND passes anymore as they always had everything in big quantities and with all the new stuff coming out it makes getting them all the more easy. -

We haven't gotten the new episodes as of yet here in the States so I can't say. I know they are in the game though so it might be possible they might not show up in the show. The ultimate sets only made a brief appearance within the show. Thanks for that info. Still haven't picked up an of the Battle Suits but was curious about that. Also - London Toy Fare is almost upon us. :) -
The LEGO Batman Movie Set/CMF Rumors & Discussion

My local stores have been slow to putting out the new Batman polybags - still carrying lots of Kylo Ren shuttles. Was lucky at one Target store they had one Batman poly at the checkout and picked it up. Same goes with the new hot rod poly as still have not been seeing those either. -
King's Mech is a nice set I think but I know what you mean. Axl's Tower Carrier they have a decent price as well but I am not really in to the set and am hoping it comes on sale even better than it is now.

I never seem to find anything good at my local Walmart's and am always jealous of those finding such great deals on sets through them. I was hoping to pick up Jestro's Volcanic Lair through Target but they seem to be spotty on availability for this item. I have never seen it in stores and it never seems to be available online even though they have a great price on it.

I didn't get a chance to go through all my instructions to check that out but good catch. Unusual and wonder why it appears they have dropped it so quickly here in Year 2. I kind of like the printing for the new battle suits as they are a bit more subdued and simpler, however, seeing your video with them all together I am not a fan of them as a group shot. Also, it appears as though the crest for the battle suits printed on the figures is a bit bigger than the standard crest - is that true or am I seeing things? If bigger do the crests still work with the armor piece? Those could be fun as well. I know they have appeared in the game on the new levels or what appear to be scurriers but made to look like stone scurriers. It would seem we would have gotten some this go around but since the wave was so small in nature (an individual set size) I am wondering if it was a cost measure to forego them this wave and bring them back for summer. It would be a shame if this was an exclusive figure through the magazine only. -

My alternate LEGO store had only one set of the Lava Monster blister pack so I picked that up. Yea,15 is too much I think. Even for the sale price of12 is pushing it a little for me. While there also picked up the Action Lance set. Will probably take it back for a later purchase but I have to seeing these Action sets in person they are growing on me. Picked up the Knighton poly bag as well. Haven't put it together yet but the store had it on display and that thing is small. I was really surprised by how small it is.
