I hadn't but even noticed that. That is pretty neat. -

I don't know if I would agree with that. For me the Lance vs. Lightening is one of the weaker sets. My favorites are the Three Brothers and Ruina's Lock and Roller. Also, does it seem like the size of the sets are pretty small as well? From a cost standpoint with the exception of the Jestro's Headquarters they all look like they are going to be readily accessible from a price standpoint. -

Can't say I am overly excited with the action sets. Still are not appealing all that much to me. Still look unfinished and not as well thought out. I will say the rest of the line looks really good. Looks like plent of action features for the sets and I do like the over exaggeration of the monster vehicles. Ruina's still looks like something out of the Munsters and in a good way. Villains all look really cool as well and am intrigued by the Three Brothers sets and characters. The retailer exclusive a bit disappointed in. The monster appears to be a recolored version of Sparx and Lance's vehicle isn't all that great but overall am really liking these sets. -

Lots of discussion on the new sets and finally some official box art. Lots to digest. The new armor pieces look interesting and I am wondering if they will allow more arm movement than the first wave armor. The new Jestro alternate face (?) looks really creepy and spooky. Love Clay's new vehicle. Really cool. Nexo Knights utilizing forbidden powers? Interesting. -

As far as the health of the line only Lego can give accurate information as to if Nexo Knights is performing to their standards or not. From a personal perspective I certainly think it is fun and my son really likes it and the characters. It is fun to hear say 'the Book of Monsters' in his best Jestro voice. The only other perspective I can give is from what i see around town and to give a little background at least I live in a pretty heavily populated area. I have three Target stores that are all about 15 minutes from my home, two TRU's equal distance, three Lego stores, and Legoland is about an hour away so plenty of buying opportunities. From what I see the kids are really excited about Nexo's. I hear them talking to their parents about it and picking up stuff in the stores. I see plenty of kids at Legoland dressing up in some of the knight gear they sell there and lots of interest for the toys which is pretty substantial because Ninjago has a ride and is marketed pretty heavily at the park while Nexo Knights has no ride and most employees there really don't know what it is. The 4dmovie there is also well received but again it is not really advertised that much particularly in relations to the 4d Lego Movie. All to say day I think the theme is probably doing pretty well. Is it performing to Lego's expectations? Only Lego knows. In the meantime I will just enjoy it and enjoy it with my son for as long as I can. -
Lego Nexo Knights TV Series Discussion

Unfortunately not. i may have to go back and rewatch to see the Royal Guards as I totally missed them. -
No, I know I can get it cheaper at other stores I was just hoping to get it at the Lego Store so I could get the points even if on sale. Debated about getting it for the double VIP promotion but walked in and they had the Disney Castle so picked it up for my wife then saw a great deal in the Temple of Airjitzu so picked that up as well. At the end of the day Jestros Lair just had to wait. I just wish they put out the big sets on sale.
-
I waited and waited for the Fortrex to go on sale at my local Lego Store (got everything else there on sale) and it never did so ended up getting it at Target. Because of that I wasn't holding out much hope that Jestro's Lair would go on sale but have built up quite a bit of rewards points and plan on picking that up. On another note, it looks like here in the US Toys 'r Us will be having the Nexo Knights free build on the 12th of November. This is the same one as from Canada. Not sure what to make of the Nexo Mixel figure but I am sure I will be there.

Lego Nexo Knights TV Series Discussion

Saw the season/series finale over the weekend. Overall the second season was much better than the first which is kind of ironic because when I saw the first episode of season 2 I was not impressed at all and had fears the show was just going to go downhill from there. Built up really nice to a cool ending and leaving the door open for more episodes. Somebody had mentioned seeing the Royal Guards in the second season but I didn't see them or perhaps I just missed them. -
I agree that it is unfortunate that there is really no big difference between the Ultimate Beast Master and regular version but I still like the Ultimate version and actually like his little swinging action. I don't know what it is about it but it just seems to be fun. That and is it really that much difference from Axl's Nexo power?

Yea, my Fortrex set had a damaged sticker sheet so had to get another one from Lego. Didn't think they sent them out but got a brand new one in the mail. -

Thanks for the heads up and posting the image. Just updated Merlok 2.0 and already see some new monster types. Yes, the lightening monsters sound a bit more fun than just rock monsters and the image looks really cool - can't wait to see these in all their glory with better pics. I think somebody else may have said it but perhaps the lightening creatures awake the rock monsters making them 'dumb' servants to the lightening creatures. Perhaps also we will continue to see some of the original monsters like Moltor since he is lava (liquefied rock) but in a more 'ultimate' version of him with power upgrades from the lightening monsters. Getting more excited for this new wave. -
Put together the Chaos Chariot last night and I really like it. Fun little model and with Macy in the set the two go together really well and I have to say I really like the Beast Master minifigure much more than I thought I would. I know between this and the Ultimate version a lot of people were not too excited about it but I actually like the Ultimate version along with the his vehicle.

Lego Ninjago 2016
OC_Architect replied to LegendsOfNinjago's topic in LEGO Action and Adventure Themes
Yea, been pretty lucky about picking up some pretty good sets on some decent discounts lately. Of course I did my fair share of paying through the nose as I also picked up the Disney Castle on the same day. The only saving grace is that we have a lot of VIP points and am hoping to pick up Jestro's Volcanic Lair for free sometime early next year. Just barely starting to get in to Ninjago due to the ride at LEGOLAND and the kid getting a little bit more interested as well. Not sure what will happen with the Temple though as it is such a big set. May just display it or let the kid run rampant with it and destroy it. Really like the pirates theme as there are some really fun looking builds out of that. May try and pick up a few of those once they start to go on sale around town. Have a few of the polybags and I really like those little builds - kooky pirate fliers to say the least. Really fun and fun minifigures that come with it. -
Next issue will feature a mini mech thing. In my opinion, that thing looks horribly incomplete, even for a polybag. This month's free build looks pretty cool and something that might live in the Nexo world but next months looks pretty bad I think as well. Same goes for the free build at Canada TRU but hey, free parts!!!

WooHooo! For those in SoCal and specifically near the Downtown Disney Lego store location they currently have the Temple of Airjitzu set on sale for 50% off. Picked one up for myself. -
LEGO Ideas: 21310 Old Fishing Store (Fall 2017)

Yea, I liked the collider set as well but all in all there were a couple of good models I really liked and this was one of them. All to say that it may not have been my first choice but for me at least it was a good choice. -

I really like this set and glad it is going through to becoming an actual set we can purchase. I haven't been too enthusiastic with most of the Lego Ideas sets released so far but I do like this one a lot. The only thing I am concerned about is the potential price point for it. -
Really like that supped up shield that Burnzie is holding. Really makes it seem like he means business. On another note has anyone been seeing the Jestro's Volcano Lair out there? Seems like wherever I go it is not stocked on the shelves. Even went to the Lego Store last night for the monthly build and they didn't have any on the shelves, although they had one behind the counter.

That will be a bummer if they discontinue so quickly on this line particularly the summer wave which will have only been on the streets for roughly 4 months by that time. The theme seems to be selling well as a whole so not sure why they would try this with a their new hot ticket item. -
Is that Canada or US? When I checked the US TRU they had different weekly builds then Canada - no Nexo's. Or maybe I looked in the wrong place or was looking at the wrong thing. As far as enforcement goes I think it varies by store. I remember when we had a TRU near us they were very strict on the age limit. My son is a pretty big boy so we would tell them he was 6 (same for the Lego store minibuilds). Since they have closed down we have went to other area TRU and they pretty much let everyone in. I know just2good has mentioned that if you go in the stores after the event and just ask they will sometimes give you the packet of parts if they still have them around. I suppose depending upon crowd you could probably ask close to the end time.
-
Looks like no Nexo free build in October for the US. Don't know what that build is for Canada though. It's supposed to be Nexo but bleah!!! that is what is good about Target. They have stuff marked down from their original price and then you get to take another discount on that when they are having a sale. I figure that is why they never have Jestros Lair on the shelves as their list price is 20% off retail.

Hmmm... I guess you are correct. I looked at that thing a couple of times and could have sworn it was a physical thing as opposed to background picture. Oh, well. Stuff is growing on me more and more. :) All except the Action figures though. -

Yea, I was thinking of that too. All the bad guy sets seemed so ground based even to the point that they are primarily plays on earth mover type vehicles or drillers. Stuff to move around underground which begs the question why would you fight that with a flyer. Macy's vehicle looks like it has a drill on the front but beyond that not much from the other stuff. Also on trying to get a closer look at some of the sets it looks like Clay's vehicle is a pretty funky little hot rod and even appears that they two lances in front spin and what appears to be rock debris flying so perhaps there are more digging based sets than initially thought. Anyways, it seems really compatible with the Ruina vehicle which also looks like a funky hot rod.
