  1. That part count sounds a little too high, think the 4.86 times comment is probably just referring to the box size.
  2. As an update, the "Ice Tank" on the Argos website is actually The Temple of the Ultimate Ultimate Weapon, just picked up my order.
  3. Looking on Argos at the moment, they have Zane's Ice Tank listed, but the picture, description and product code are all for The Temple of the Ultimate Ultimate Weapon which is not listed separately, so I'm guessing it's actually the temple rather than the Ice Tank but can anyone confirm? Oh, and just as a warning if you're using the 3 for 2 offer on Argos, then you need to order sets in batches of 3 or else you always get the cheapest sets in your order free which isn't necessarily the best deal if you're ordering a mix of cheap and expensive sets.
  4. Apologies is this has been answered before but couldn't find anything when searching back through the last few pages. Is the Ice Tank getting a UK release on the 1st of August? It doesn't seem to be on the Lego website but all the other movie releases are up, is this just an oversight or is there some issue with the release, I know Lego sometimes release sets earlier or later in different regions.
  5. Yep, I keep getting a Lego advert pop up on Facebook with a caption something like "A classic ship re-imagined" and a picture of the Falcon, but it's just advertising the regular TFA version, definitely made me stop and look the first time it appeared though! (I wonder if that's intentional on the part of Lego!)
  6. Assembled this over the weekend, really great build, loved all the weird techniques used in the structure and the finished model is certainly impressive. Seems great value as well, last set I assembled was the Quad-jumper and looking at the two together and considering the Saturn 5 only costs twice as much it is just so much bigger and more impressive looking.
  7. Does anyone know if this is likely to be available in store today in the UK in either Toys'R'Us, Smyths or John Lewis? Don't really want to make the drive over to the retail park if it's going to be a wasted trip.
  8. Started collecting last May and my own spreadsheet suggest I have 58 sets with a total of 70,932 pieces (I tend to go for larger sets so I think the number of pieces is high compared to the number of sets). Two of those sets are buildable figures (I don't really like them but one was free and the other was reduced to £2.00!), the number doesn't include mini-figures. I also have a bunch of assorted bricks purchased as job lots from ebay, but don't have a count for those at the moment, and the number of pieces does not include the "spare" pieces from sets which fill a pretty sizeable bag despite being mostly tiny, so that would probably bump the number as well. Have slowed down my purchasing somewhat now and have only bought 7 smaller sets this month, couldn't resist the 3 for 2 deal on toys at Tesco!
  9. Yep, even if there were plans they wouldn't reveal them on FB just because someone asked.
  10. I've just got into the modular buildings myself after mostly collecting Star Wars prior to that and have to say they are the most fun builds I've done, though horribly addictive, I bought my first one at the end of November (Palace Cinema) and after getting the Detective's Office earlier this week I now have all the currently available ones apart from Assembly Square which I'll probably pick up next month, and was also pleased as I managed to find a Pet Shop still in stock at a local store. They definitely look nice lined up as well and although I certainly miss not having the older ones I think I should be able to cope, also I figure if I do want some of those missing buildings I could always Bricklink them (with modifications\colour swaps to avoid the most expensive pieces). As a build though, I think they are definitely worth it, a lot of sets based on SW or things like Tower Bridge seem to end up with lots of unavoidable repetition, whereas the Modular buildings feel like they've been designed to be a fun build with not too much repetition. I don't know what country you're in, but in the UK I found one in stock for "Click and Collect" at a local Smyth's Toys just before Christmas, that sort of thing is probably your best bet though, I've found a few sets that are no longer available still in stores even when the company's website no longer lists them. i.e. Sydney Opera House is showing as completely unavailable for either collection or delivery from Toys R Us, but local branch still had a couple in stock last time I visited (one less after my visit though!).
  11. I managed to pick up a Pet Shop at RRP in Smyths Toys using click and collect in the UK just before Christmas, so there might still be a few out there if you shop around.
  12. Just ordered the new Y-Wing, A-Wing and Skiff Escape, had three £20 off Lego vouchers from Toys'R'Us from an offer before Christmas when I was stocking up on modular buildings, so they cost £44.99, £24.99 and £9.99 respectively. Did pretty well out of the TRU pre-Christmas offers, they had a 20% cashback deal, free Lego sets for any purchase over £45 and free £20 voucher when you spent £75, all of which stacked. So bought Tower Bridge, Brick Bank and Palace Cinema and got £90 cashback, £60 in vouchers, Rey buildable figure and Geoffrey Giraffe in Lego (I should have got a third free set, but they were all out of stock when I made the third purchase)!
  13. The Spiderman Polybag was an extra free gift in addition to the expected First Order Storm Trooper Polybag and Triple VIP points, so a nice surprise.
  14. Grew up with the classic space sets, plus Technic and the odd other set, plus general Star Wars toys before selling it on as I got older. Then saw the first UCS sets Tie-Interceptor and X-Wing, as I'd just got a bonus from work I bought the Tie-Interceptor and the X-Wing followed a while later. Didn't significantly get into Lego, just had them as display pieces to which I added the UCS Star Destroyer and UCS AT-ST. Then my girlfriend moved in and I decided to sell the Lego :( Move on a few years and the girlfriend became the wife, then the ex-wife. Then earlier this year I was bored and hungover on a grey Sunday and ended up picking up the First Order Tie-Fighter, which was fun, then had £50 of Tesco Clubcard vouchers and they were doing an offer that doubled the value of the vouchers, so picked up the Millennium Falcon, by this point I was starting to get hooked and Kylo Ren's shuttle and Poe Dameron's X-Wing joined the collection. At this point I was also doing a fair amount of overtime at work and things went a bit nuts... So now have all the current available Star Wars UCS sets bar the Tie-Fighter (but as I have £70 of VIP points I think I will be picking that one up shortly) and I'm working on Brick Linking the UCS B-Wing.
  15. Yep, I got the Spiderman polybag as well. Kind of surprised, ordered the Death Star and they shipped two parcels, one of which was just contained two free polybags, Death Star did seem to be in it's own special shipping box though, so maybe it's just cheaper and easier for them to send it out like that rather than taking it out of that box and sticking it in a different one to ship along with other stuff.
  16. Well, went for the Death Star at triple points as I figured if I was ever going to buy it then this was the best time to do it. Considered the RO stuff but figure that will be available at a discount from other retailers in a few months and also looked at the UCS Tie Fighter but decided I can wait on that and use the £60 of VIP points from the Death Star towards it.
