  1. Jess was gone, and Hoke with her. Terrible thoughts filled Haldor's head, Hoke, run through and bleeding. Jess, her beautiful eyes cold with death. Haldor didn't know what he'd do if she was dead, if he could even go on living... Haldor cleared his head of the torment and took a Military Grade Fire Bomb. Haldor stood with the others. "So, is there any way we can break these machines? By malfunction or just brute force. Once we're done here we need to get going, Jess could be in trouble. Gods, I hope she's alright..."
  2. "I'll heal myself, again. But next turn I shall help fight."
  3. "I will heal myself, we can beat this guy!" Haldor clears his mind of Jess and turns to his friends.
  4. Thank you for clearing that up Chromeknight.
  5. I would like to join in in wishing everyone a Merry Christmas from here. Nice poem K-nut!
  6. "Nothing to do buy heal Skrall from the back row. I'll heal Dyric next round, then me after. Hit him hard Tesni!" Haldor shouts more encouragement despit him feeling like he's been torn in half. Does healing from the back row only heal half as much?
  7. No problem, it's Christmas after all. "Skrall, I think it would be better if either Tesni or Dyric made up the difference. As the four ether of mine will be valuable in the future."
  8. "Then enlighten me Wren, in what way have I only cared about myself? I never said chaos was evil, but chaos is the enemy of civilisation and progress. Skrall, Dyric and I have put forward our health, we only need 17 more then the spell will be complete."
  9. "Wren, I am not selfish, have I not done enough for others? I do not care what you think, I have helped many, not myself. Tesni, Skrall, Hoke, and Dyric are my friends, do you know what that word means Wren? I would die for these people especialy Jess, yet you call me selfish, I have not acted for my personal gain. Wren, you used to be a Hero, yet you turned into a trickster who bathes in chaos. But there is always light in the darkest of places, Wren there is hope for you. If you try I'm sure you can still return to the life you left. Maybe when this is over we can help you. Skrall I respect your descison, friend. Let us go now in peace Wren, I am certain we will meet again." Haldor thinks of Jess, then his thoughts turn to Wren. Why did she turn? Who twisted her into what she was standing before them. He walks over and stands by Tesni, fondling his glowing blue crystal.
  10. And I wub Haldor, the lil' guy is in front of me now, a few grams of ABS pure personality! When he levels up a bit he might even have earnt himself a new costume!
  11. "Dyric if she drains all your life force there will not be anything left to revive. Both of us together equals 33, we only need 17 more. Skrall, Tesni, would you like to donate? I have plenty of ether to heal us all back to full health."
  12. 1. Arrgghh! I need to read the whole topic throughaly (Spelling? ) before posting in future. 2. All are valid points. And very good ones. 3. I'll give it a go * Uhh, I liked the action scenes, for example when Joker is in the lorry. * Great acting by Heath Ledger, whether he was a 'good Joker' or not, the acting was brilliant. * Err, moving at points * I think it's still a good film, even if it doesn't fit Batman in parts. 4. I thought it was PG12, but I probably misread that as well. 1. I didn't read this topic enough obviously. 2. The comics are just as much (if not more so) aimed at children as they are us. But my rubbish point about 12 year olds is: As a Batman film it may be bad, but as a film in general it is good. I tried to illustrate this by hypothetically having a conversation about TDK with a child. And looking at their reaction compared to that of an adult Batman fan. My reason for using a 12 year old for this comparison was that I was under the impression the film was PG12. And to be honest I don't care much for talking to children about Batman either, so that is why we have this topic. Now I can chat about Batman with other adults, steering clear of the little children! 3. You win! Moral: Don't have a Batman argument with The Penguin and Siegfried, there is no hope of victory. Is all well now? After that unusually heated debate that I lost quite badly. My final point stands, as a Batman film: , as a film in general: . Cheerio!
  13. "Tesni, do we speak as friends again? I do not wish to cause offence, but it can't be healthy for your eyes to be purple and you voice crackling. I would be interested to hear more of your past Tesni, what was your village like? One day I shall return to the north, and see what has become of the village, of Throdic, and the healers."
  14. I need a BB code for Haldor's past! I'm tired of rewriting it!
  15. "But I have 19 ether, I can easily heal anyone who gives up health and still have at least 14. And I doubt this toad would pose much of a threat if it did betray us. I do not wish arguments, as we are friends and we should strive to understand each other. But you had friends in your village didn't you? You had people who cared. Well did you not hear a kind word in your life until you were through the door at Heroica? Did you go every morning only to be beaten savagly by people who should have been friends? I never enjoyed anything like you did in my childhood, I was tormented for being different, so do not call me 'a soft touch for a norseman'. I came to this place because I have no home, the village of my childhood was no home. A home is full of family and joy, security and love is it not? There was nothing for me there but fear and pain. When I first stepped off the ferry a fishmonger said 'Good Morning', this seems insignificant to you, but to my memory that was the first time I'd ever been greeted with cheer and friendship. You are one of the first friends I have ever had, let us not destroy our friendship. And you know what? That damn sword isn't helping, it twists your words, changes you. You are being manipulated by that weapon, let me help you, I can aid you in understanding it. A sword is a weapon, it should not have domiance over you, let me help you controll it.
  16. That's a very good observation. I don't see anyone complaining about Arnie in Batman and Robin, so why complain about the late Heath Ledger outstanding acting as the Joker in TDK. His performance really is the best true acting I've seen in a very long time. I love TDK, I think that everyone here is all going on about how bad it is. Please, name a few strutured points, without basing them on comparison to other Batman stuff, about why it is bad. Then I recommend that you go and ask a 12 year old outside, they'll love it for what it is, but your comic's have made you hostile toward these films. When you all laugh at TDK, you are careful to not mention the outstanding features, Heath Ledger is the best Joker in my book, end of. The action is realistic and exiting, the film is engaging and Two-Face is played very well. Though I agree Bale has as much emotion as boulder.
  17. No problem, I'm enjoying the quest as it is. It's nice to have time for roleplay.
  18. "Dyric, the difference is, if the witch uses the toad, she'll drain all his life force. With you you'd just be in a 'KO', which would provide her less energy. Tesni, we cannot sacrifice the toad, such an act would be the same as just murdering him in the factory. He joined us not to end up dead just so we could fly somewhere. You say we'd feel no pain to kill is friends if they stood in our way? Well you probably won't, because all you care about is fighting! I feel the loss of every living thing, I feel the pain as creatures die! Everytime a 'dumb animal' falls, I hear it crying out for it's mother! Just because you don't care when you slay them, just because they can't cry out in fear, it does not mean that they do not deserve to live! Haldor calms down a bit after his outburst. "All life is precious, let us not waste any. I will offer all 20 of my health. And I remind my friends that I can heal us all when the magic is over."
  19. I agree 100% with all of that, especialy about the Joker. I couldn't have put it better myself.
  20. "Aye, let's head off. Jess, stay safe, but I'm sure you're expert skill will protect you. Hoke, keep an eye out, alright?" Haldor gives a parting kiss to Jess and looks her in her sparkling eyes, then he leaves with the rest of the party.
  21. "Hmm, if possible I'd like to go wherever Jess does, we need to talk, I think she has doubts. I'll never leave her, but I'm not sure it's the same the other way around. I'll volunteer to stay behind, if Jess does." Haldor looks at yes, his eyes saying everything, he reaches into his bag and fondles the crystal. Hoping the spirit of Grishnika Darkbane will give him some guidence.
  22. Bane does look terrible, he doesn't bear a resemblence to the character in any way. He's just a random guy with a mask and a furry coat. Where's his super-strength? Where's his venom? I liked the first two films in the series, but I'm not sure about this one.
  23. Batman's face looks like it's been through a meat-grinder. Katana is meh, why not stick with more mainstream sidekicks like Robin or Nightwing? Also she is possibly the ugliest thing I've ever seen. Alfred with guns is like Winnie the Pooh with a F-18 Hornet, it just doesn't fit the character. And it's not like he'd kill anyone is it? Those three villains seem meh aswell. I can think of many better ones, for example, The Riddler, Two-Face, Bane, Scarecrow... These villains seem far too obscure. Joker is used most oftenly because he is the archenemy of Batman, he is just such a good character, him being 'overused' is nonesence. He's better than some stupid pig in a trench coat, what is this? Animal Farm?
  24. D'oh! I'm terribly gulible aren't I?
  25. "Meet the rebels again seems like a good plan." Haldor walks over to Jess. "Jess, you said we needed to talk. Have I failed you, again?"
