Is packaging made of gold in France?
Quarryman replied to Hinckley's topic in Buy, Sell, Trade and Finds
600 pieces, each 3 grams. (unless I severely misunderstood what you're buying) That should be around 1.8 kg. Guess it depends on what kind of shipping, did a quick check on usps.com, cheapest alternative would be 30.10 USD to have a similar package sent from the US to France. So I suppose there are some cheaper alternatives available. -
The Baritones Discussion Thread
Quarryman replied to Hinckley's topic in LEGO Mafia and Role-Play Games
People sure seem to be dieing like flies in this game (which is good, it keeps up the pace.) And I'm somewhat happy that spaced_out didn't post much, leaves Steve completely to my interpretation -
The Baritones Day 4-A Good Man Slain...
Quarryman replied to Hinckley's topic in LEGO Mafia and Role-Play Games
Yaaaaaawn. Sorry, I slept late today (and yesterday I was so afraid of the Baritones that I stayed at home for the whole day. ) But today I decided that enough is enough (admittedly after a few glasses of whisky), so here I am. So what is this I heard, you all decided the mayor had to die? And he really was a part of the Baritones. Damn, never really trusted that guy, always going for what benefited himself instead of the town. Good riddance I say. May he burn in Hell forever and ever. Bah, anyone with a hammer, some nails and some boards could have nailed those windows shut, you don't have to be a construction worker like me or Dillon to do that. I'm certainly with you, Vote: Betty. There, that makes 7, which is at the moment a majority. Then, tomorrow we can see about that Pete guy. -
This set was handed out by Rambøll on a trade fair in Stavanger in late August. Those who understand Norwegian can read about their cooperation with TLG here and here (and here you can see a video). I could probably do a quick&dirty translation of the articles, but not right now. At the fair they also had a large LEGO model of the oil rig: Not sure about how many sets they handed out, one member of Brikkelauget got hold of one.

The crocodile looks suspicious, I'm voting for him! (unless I end up being the crocodile, of course ) -
The biggest Prize Pool in AFOL fansite history?
Quarryman replied to Mister Phes's topic in Pirate MOCs
Oh damn. Now that's prizes. (regardless of the condition of the sets) Could someone please help me pick my jaw up from the floor? Eagerly looking forward to hearing what this contest is all about, I'm sure it's a good one! -
Very nice! But still, does it have only one seat? The car in HL2 Episode 2 seats two, Gordon and Alyx. (and a garden gnome, if you manage to keep it in the car ) It's still an impressive MOC though, very close match to the one in the game

Clearly I'm in for this too. May the luckiest bastard win

Sounds interesting, how does it work? What are your goals in the game, what kind of role does each player have? How much player interaction? Much, little, almost none? Any well-known games that are similar? (I'm quite fond of board games, currently working on making a web-version of this game, which was designed by a guy in a local gaming club here.)

Today I finally got a couple of lots I bought earlier this summer on ebay.co.uk, which I had sent to a guy I know in London (the sellers only wanted to ship inside the UK). Mainly bought them for monorail parts, but it looks like I got an almost complete 6399 Airport Shuttle too. I'm certainly not complaining

Well, I'm certainly planning to be there, unless something unforeseen turns up and ruins all my plans. At least next spring there won't be exams getting in the way though, which was the problem this year.

OLD Mafia and Mystery Games Index
Quarryman replied to MagPiesRUs's topic in LEGO Mafia and Role-Play Games
Intriguing. Looking very much forward to that, especially since I missed The Baritones. Also, I wonder if there will be noticeable improvement in the mafia games as time progresses and people get more experience. This of course assumes that several players participate in all/most of the games though, but so far that seems to be the case. Anyway, it's going to be interesting to observe, I think. -
The Baritones Discussion Thread
Quarryman replied to Hinckley's topic in LEGO Mafia and Role-Play Games
Crap, too late. Oh well, if an opening presents itself, I'd love to join. There was the original signup thread for "Mystery Town" in the Trains&Town-forum. Which was later closed, and then Hinckley took over the game. And of course this thread opened up in the middle of the night, how typical. -
Lovely Great colour combination, excellent parts usage, amazing greebling, and very inspirational too. Overall great work!

Wonderful Terraced town with castle
Quarryman replied to simonwillems's topic in LEGO Historic Themes
Argh, now I've spent ages looking for that third Fabuland fig, and I think I found him; top floor, left window, tan building on the left (the one with two persons sitting on the roof terrace). Or? -
Hello, and welcome to EB! I really love that terraced town of yours, it's amazing Actually, it's called PPS (post post scriptum, as "post" means "after")

OLD Mafia and Mystery Games Index
Quarryman replied to MagPiesRUs's topic in LEGO Mafia and Role-Play Games
Ah, I guess I might as well put me on the list too, with "Mystery Spaceship" (hey, there are precedents for that kind of name ), but that's still in the planning phase, and needs several Bricklink orders to be ready. Also, with several mafia games being planned that are not history/adventure themed shouldn't this index perhaps be moved to Community? Just a thought... -
Reccommendations for a first time Castle'er
Quarryman replied to Jameseh's topic in LEGO Historic Themes
As others have said, the Castle sets out now are very good (especially if you like fantasy), I'd suggest checking out the cheap ones at first, like 7009, 7090, 7091, 7040, etc. And of course the Impulse sets (5614,5615, 5618) are both nice and cheap. A Dane that messes up LEGO set numbers? Shouldn't that qualify for revoking of citizenship or something? -
Mystery Castle - The Conclusion
Quarryman replied to Dragonator's topic in LEGO Mafia and Role-Play Games
And so it ends, not with a bang, but not with whimper either. I'm happy that I made it to the bitter end. It's been great fun, at times simply hilarious. Also, the accompanying MOCs were of very high quality, great job. I've surely enjoyed the game, and hope to join another one, whether it's run by Draggy or someone else. I've also been considering to run a mafia game myself, if I'm allowed. Some minor criticism: a) Like others have pointed out, there were too many players. 16 would probably have been a better starting number. b) Blocking everyone from using their night actions during night 11 were a bad idea. c) There were too few traitors that could kill people, so after we took out General Marcus their only way of reducing the number of loyalists were by getting us to vote them out, which they admittedly did a good job of. Maybe two traitors should have had Kill as their night action. d) You did get too involved at times, try to remember that next time. (and Shadows did a great job playing Rotty, I never even suspected him of being a traitor before Kyle revealed that he was one, I'm officially impressed.) -
Mystery Castle - Game and Index
Quarryman replied to Dragonator's topic in LEGO Mafia and Role-Play Games
Looking forward to that. And thanks again for running the game, it's been great! (and I survived until the end, yay! ) -
But I enjoyed being bonked on the head...

As long as the thumbnails are small that's hardly a problem. But yes, that is something to consider, especially if the index is very long. And I'll admit I'm spoiled with vast amounts of bandwidth, and thus not familiar with this sort of problem
-
Easy choice, the new look is way better. The thumbnails are a great addition, and will (perhaps?) enable people to find sets they've only seen built, without knowing the set number/name. (maybe a bit far-fetched use case, but hey, it could happen ) Also, the new look makes it very easy to see which sets have been reviewed, in case someone wants to do a review. So all in all I don't see any reason for using the old look, the new look is better in every respect. (except that it's more work to add new links )
