  1. So you have never bought a set with belts, like For example the excavator or the buldozer? Then you have missed some really good sets.
  2. Sorry, just started thinking about it.
  3. Does anyone know if there is made any good alternate models for the 8285 tow truck, with instructions?
  4. You get pretty great "play-value" with small sets, but when your collection starts to grow the small sets get less interesting, at least for me. And here in Norway lego is never on sale, a small set that costs 25 dollar in USA costs 35 dollar in Norway. That is why I care so much about the value different sets gives you for your money. But on the other hand, the unimog costs 200 dollar in USA and about 295 dollar here, so in the end the small sets might be a better deal.
  5. So you would rather spend 390 pound on a bunch of small sets than on 2 flagship sets and one fairly big set? Do not get me wrong, the small sets are great to, but I do not think the value for your money is good, compared to buying bigger sets.
  6. How are you supposed to see those mirrors, when they are placed so low? It looks kind of stupid.
  7. Until I saw the two mogs side by side I actually thought it was the offical mog with some heavy mods. I wounder if he built it before the offical mog was released.
  8. I have 8285, 8258, 8455, 8421 and built, but returned 8275. In my opinion 8421 is the best of these, closely followd by 8285. Even though I like the powerfunctions and playability in both 8043 and 8275, I just love the massively feeling of the tow truck and the mobile crane. Ironicly, the tow truck is not really that massive. For me it was a major change of style when the bulldozer came, to much focus about PF. The backhoe is also great, but a litle bit overloaded and unbalanced, to much weight in the back. To bad they could not make it a proper flagship set with 1000+ parts. They probably spent to much on the pnumatics. So basically I would recommend 8275, 8043 etc, for a child, but the older sets for an adult collector.
  9. The truck looks a bit overloaded, or is it just the table that´s over loaded?
  10. Not everyone has airtanks just lying around, in fact I have 5 flaggship sett and 7 fairly large set, but no air tanks. That is why i wished that Lego had included some with the Unimog.
  11. My unimig is leaning to the left, probably because of the heavy battery box. And I really wish that I had some air tanks, caus it is pretty anyoing that you need to control the pump all the time, and when you are lifting something heavy it takes forever to raise the boom.
  12. Do you think it is possible to just replace the fake motor with a motor, or is not the drive train strong enought? I think that would be the best, or at least the easiest way to motorise it.
  13. Do you have one XL motor for each axel, or is it only 2 wheel drive?
  14. Can someone show me a picture or something of what that needs to be replaced to make the steering easyer to handle? And how hard is it to do it when you allready have built the model?
  15. It is not that easy when you have finished the model. And I do not really understand where I should place those parts. Anyway, this is an official set, and I expect the steering to working properly without any modification.
  16. Now the Mog itself is finished, and I must say that the steering is ridiculously hard. And the turning radius is not very impresive either.
  17. Just think about how it would be if you bild the B-model with the snow plow, then it would get even worse.
  18. I have now finished all the parts from bags number one, and as earlier mentioned it apears to me that the front suspesion is not straigt! It really annoys me, it makes the whole model a bit off line. And the steering is way to hard. But I am very pleased with the drive train. I tried to hook it up to a M motor, and for a change it was not the drive train that "broke" but the engine that stoped. Except for the hard steering it should be really easy to motorise. Hopfully I will finish it tomorrow. And then I can get started with the Flat bed truck!
  19. That is the retail store price, but you cant really find it any cheaper at internetshops, if you find any at all.
  20. I got my Unimog today, but the prices here in Norway is just crazy. 1699 NOK, or 310 dollar! It does not make sense. Can not wait to get started, unfortanly I will have to wait some days.
  21. I just bought this set, and so far I am happy with it. A lot of functions for the money, but i feel that the made some short cuts on many of the functions. And the backhoe cant really be folded together, it looks a bit stupid. Still grat value for your money, much better that the new buckettruck, wich i think is a bit boring.
  22. Does anyone know when the train will be available in Lego Stores in USA? I know it is possible to get one at toys are us, but I am one vacation here, so it is a bit tricky to get to one. It would be great to get one here, since they cost more than twice as much home in Norway and are almost impossible to get hold of.
  23. It looks so awesome, but it think the belt should be a little wider or at least attached further out on the sides. Since the harvester itself is a bit wider than the wheels it looks slightly handicapped. And in real life i think it would be a serious chance for the harvester to tip over in the hills, not a problem in Denmark, where it barley exist any, but a real problem her in Norway. 24. Lucky you I really hope that I will be able to pic one up in the US next month. Does anyone know how strict they are about releasing things to early at the Lego stores in USA? I head back to Norway July 31. So it would be really annoying if it is not possible to get one before August 1. Can I ask how much you paid for it?
