Saw a news bit, on screen rant, about a SW themed LEGO Set due out in October - 7,451 pcs eclipsing the previous largest LEGO set, the Taj Mahal that itself had 5922 pcs (great regret that I only bought one of that Taj set in 2010). No details on what this set would be about. Speculation abounds

Thank you. I was hoping they were unique and I guess those 5 digit numbers will help greatly.

Ordered mine May 22. Expected to have it May 25. Reading here, I feel I really missed out on the Grand Carousel (10196). BTW, do LEGO set numbers ever repeat themselves?

Cool. Are these sensors from the Mindstorms EV3 series?

I'd do cartwheels (that too is wishful thinking) and buy 2 in a heartbeat.

What type of train would be best for Lego Friends?
Bernie56 replied to Lyichir's topic in LEGO Train Tech
My five year old daughter is just using the Tram converted as monorail (Thank you, Nacho for that Mod idea) to transport the Disney Princesses and Friends around. She does get offended if I refer to the Tram/Monorail as train, though.- 10 replies

Lego 4002016 - Limited Edition Employee Gift

Now, that's a real friend. That set lists for close to $300 on ebay. My wife has conniptions over my LEGO compulsion, especially when they get delivered at home. I get the "not again" look when I get home. -
Why "poisonous purchases"?

And that's a bigger challenge than some of the larger LEGO set build effort. -

I think, I'll try. I am learning to pick up pieces here and there for other projects. -
Thank you, that's good to know. I do have one 8866 that I clearly bought without knowing its weaknesses.

My thoughts exactly. But, my 5 yr old has been eyeing it, and other unopened boxes, since I got it. Need to hide them better. -
Thank you dr_spock. Earlier when tried to access the tutorials, it said that I had no access. This link you provided works just dandy.

Thank you ColletArrow. I looked up those sets and they are listed ~$500+ on Amazon. Thank you all for your responses.

Thank you. Will try your suggestion to share from Flickr. When you follow the link above, were you able to see my other pics as well (total 5; all LEGO train related; I am new to Flickr too)

Here are the two types I picked off on ebay recently. https://www.flickr.com/photos/146647004@N05/shares/cLWh28 <img/https://www.flickr.com/photos/146647004@N05/shares/7U872V/img>

Would love to share a pic or two here but trying to figure out how.

with regards to the 88002 vs 8866 Q I posed earlier, this thread (that I just found) has a lot of neat info shop.legodotcom says 60050 is out of stock. No indication of being retired. I like the 7937 Train station from circa 2011. That is retired, by now, for sure.
-
Yes, Capparezza,I just figured that out after I posted. My history with LEGO trains goes back to the Yellow Cargo train and beyond (all PF with 88002). So, where was 8866 used in?
-
Just found out that the 8866 Train Motor is now a retired product by LEGO. Does this mean that LEGO is coming up with something new to power engines in their Train Sets (like 60051, 60052, 60098, Yellow Cargo, Maersk, etc.)? My bad - confused 88002 with this product. Sorry. Perhaps, a thread with retired parts/sets is not a bad idea. If mods do not think so, please delete.

General question - are the tracks for Monorail 6991 different from those for other LEGO monorails (like 6990)?
-
Nacho, I've the 60097 set and only the tram assembled so far (most interesting item in that box). So, play has been limited. That is till I saw this post and your creation. Is it safe to assume (newbie here) that you built this Tram on a monorail chassis?
