  1. Ok, I've Updated the pictures to the Silo Cottage. Thanks Kai NRG, if you ever need me to return the favor just let me know. Here is the topic http://www.eurobricks.com/forum/index.php?showtopic=75816
  2. Thanks! I'll do that...tomorrow....I resized all my pics and forgot to bring them to the library. ARGH!
  3. So, I took updated pictures of the Silo cottage (Not uploaded yet) Should I start a new topic, or "bump" the old topic, or just update the old post and hope someone else bumps it? In other news, I plan on using the month of december for a nocturnus advent callendar. A new small build every day for 25 days.
  4. I'm rather torn on the bug oblitorator. The human ship looks like a great design, but I despise the colors. Ah well, I can wait for clearance.
  5. I buy whatever is on clearance, and I always try and get multiples. Many lego sets have a "unique" piece. A piece that there is only one of in the set. Sometimes it is the only peice of it's kind in the entire lego line. If you get multiple sets, you are unlikelly to have the problem of "what do I do with this" It also help with minifigs. If you want a squad of toad people, you ahd better have about 4 or 5 alien conquest heads That being said, I don't buy every lego set. I also don't get all the ones I want. Sometimes they sell out before going on clearance.
  6. Wow thats a really great take on a set that I remember. Its a great blend of nostaligia and newer parts and techniques and AHHHH Pile of hands! Pile of hands! Ahhh!
  7. I'm a bit of a purist, but that is a work of art. Is this supposed to be a chaos space marine of nurgle? I love the single eye lens. BTW, why do you have a picture of rock monster arms?
  8. Whoops! I forgot to add one of the photos. I've added it now. I'll also update it when I get some better pics.
  9. lego.com added some more clearance http://shop.lego.com/en-US/Sales-And-Deals Including Maersk Train ($107.98) and Dino defence HQ ($89.98)
  10. Stunning......just stunning
  11. Thanks for your compliments! @Garmadon When I sorted my collection, I often attached pieces together. I just happened to to notice that those bar with claw pieces looked a bit like smoke. Plus I don't have any white ice cream pieces. So it took me no time or 10 days to put together the smoke. @DeGothia I was in a hurry to get this up as soon as possible, so I din't have time to wait for decent sunlight, especially in november! But, I haven't taken the cottage down yet, so when I get a chance I will take better pictures. @Abu Dun & DeGothia I'm glad you like the shabbyness, I took some inspiration from the buildings in the Anime "Tweeny Witches"
  12. Here is a link to my latest Nocturnus Free Build. http://www.eurobricks.com/forum/index.php?showtopic=75816 Enjoy!
  13. Now with updated pictures! In Panoramic View! This building is a heavily modified Hagrid's Hut. Most of the buildings in Scarborough are show signs of damage from the attack of the windblade. This small cottage was built from the stub of a Stone silo. The top was finished in rough hewed wood, with a few repairs over time. The people of scarborough are proud of their scars, and out of rememberance of a shared tragedy, do not repair for merely cosmetic reasons. In the front we can see a crane nest for good luck, a post box and some daffodills.....I mean undead vampiric daffodills.....right. Oh dear, the rat is gone. Perhaps the snake ate it. The interior has a Grandfather clock (modified Monster fighter design) A bed and some shelves (Inspired by Haunted House & harry potter sets) Downstairs we have a rotating fireplace. Because it makes more sense for the fire to face the breakfast nook, but it was unviewable under those conditions. C&C welcome!
  14. Hooray! Daffodills!
  15. That really great. Like a lot of people, I like the rocky feel of it. But I also really like the edge of the base. Masonry bricks and hinge pieces. Ill have to remember that. I'm a little surprised that you didn't use a bat! That roof is begging for some bat action!
  16. Thanks everyone! Just so you know, Bullywugs are a Dungeons & Dragons Monster, Muroni are a type of shapechanging vampire (From Vampires A-Z) and Skuttlenips is my own name.
  17. Abu Dun, Great job on those dragons! They really scream nocturnus.....actually they scream AAAAARRRGGGHHH! but you know what I mean. If nocturnus had a moto, it would probably be, when life gives you monsters, enslave the monsters and make them fight your enemies. That's what your creations seem to epitomize.
  18. I don't have the official Wonder Woman figure, but if I did, I would totally put the LOTR rings on as bracelets, like this....
  19. As promised, here is my squad for the phantom legion Bulders notes: Alien trooper heads, Various torsos, Arms from Atlantis divers, legs from CMF alien. Bracelets are LOTR rings, and the swords are also from LOTR. The Skuttlenips are an alien clinger (Obviously) with a head from the Atlantis Hammerhead shark Man inside.
  20. While traveling from Scarbourough to their rendezvous with the rest of the Phantom Legion, the bullywugs and their skuttlenip trackers kept to the fetid marshways. At first the skuttlenips seemed excited by the journey. But soon Shaman Timrek noticed theat the beasts were staying closer to the warriors and quieter as well. The warriors kept bragging to each other, not noticing how bothered their trackers were, or how their shaman kept an eye on them. When the eyestalks of the skuttlenips suddenly pointed their eyestalks in a perfect star in all directions Temrek stopped in his tracks. "Croak!" The three warriors drew their swords, well kept and free of rust despite the damp environment. A pair of Muroni swooped down from the trees. The three pugilists started to surge forward. "Croak!" At Timrek's command Nibor flipped backwards to guard the rear from the Mummified Necromancer that had enchanted the Muroni The havok quickly turned to the bullywugs favor. While Timrek couldn't effect the Mummy wtih his spells, he was more than capable of preventing the Necromacer from harming his champion, and the Muroni were simply not skilled enough to fight outnumbered without an ambush. The Skulltnip swarm kept clear of the dried flesh of the mummy, but had no problem taking tastes of the muroni legs whenever they had a chance. And each time they did, the two warriors slashed viciously with their swords. It was only a matter of time before one of them landed a solid hit, and the crack of the hollow bones clashed with the screak of the bewitched monster. The other Swordstoad turned and together they rained blow after blow on the helpless doppelganger. His companion, freed by the distraction of the warlock and the horror of the situation, turned and adjusted his wings for flight. One, two powerfull beats lifted him into the air, only to suddenly feel the bite and pull of the skuttlenips on his legs. Rapidly he beat faster, gaining height, but loosing endurance. He slowly spiralled back to earth in time to see Nibor perfectly destroy the mummy's staff with a twin slash of his swords, then reverse and sweep the two swords through the withered body. The shaman pointed and his soldiers threw the Muroni into a pool, skuttlenips and all, so that he could talk to his companions in quiet. "Croak." Which to a batrachian ear meant. "Excellent! The purple pants make us invincible!" The skulltnips started to emerge from the gamy pool. Nibor turned to look at them and then back to his allies. "Croak." Which roughly meant. "They are done feeding, lets go meet the rest of the phantom legion!"
  21. Yeah...so much for my building sunday. I've spent all week rebuilding stuff from my move and then building TLG stuff. It did inspire me to modify some of the buildings into the buildings of Scarborough, but I don't think I'll have anything major to post until next weekend. If things go well, I will be sending a squad to the phantom legion. I just have to wait for their pants to come back from the laundry. If things go well, I'll post that tomorow night. Does anyone have good tips for modifying/improving lego buildings? So far my ideas include Color swaps, mirror images and extra floors. (Completing walls doesn't count as an idea, it counts as common sense.)
  22. I really like this build. It really showcases the techniques used, and shows you (more or less) how it's done. Is it just me, or does that rock look like a secret entrance a la Forestmen?
  23. Sorry I haven't been more active, but it does feel like we need something to get the blood flowing again (Metaphorically!.....Down!.....Bad Vampire!) Perhaps we should conquor one of the 5th guilds to stir things up. I'm going to try and make sunday a building day. Hopefully I'll have something to post next week.
  24. Crap, I looked for, but didn't see the other post until I started this one. Sorry Mods!
  25. I just happened to find this http://brickfanatics.co.uk/anyone-for-lego-lone-ranger/ Well, if nothing else this will be a great supply of parts for our western builders. I'm hoping for some parts for rustic castle stuff. I also think this is much more likelly than the TMNT rumors. After all there has already been a western theme, so ther are already specialized parts like cowboy hats and CMF gave us a new cowgirl hat and lasso (or was that wonderwoman) also since Johnny Dep Played both Captain Jack Sparrow and has a role in The Lone Ranger, they allready have a head print for him. I guess he joins the Harrison Ford Exclusive club!
