  1. Yeah but that's fine by me, the reason I want something simple like that is just so that I can do simple 4 wheel drive vehichles. I wasn't planning on using them for live axles or anything fancy like that.
  2. It seems I got kind of skipped over before, I was just wondering if you have a design for those ball adapters, to print, or would I have to order some from bricklink or something? .
  3. Read back mate, the people who actually have one beg to differ...
  4. Ye I know I don't NEED it but I'm lazy and it would make things easier and look nicer...
  5. Hmmm yeah that looks good, but I dont have any of the balls that go into it, do you have a print for those, or would I have to go to bricklink? My friend's looking into buying a 3D printer, I might have him do it...
  6. Ok, that was quite helpfull! Just a quick follow up question, do you know what size rims the unimog tires use, and what rims the 9398 use? Just wondering...
  7. I have some normal small rims from the EV3 set, as well as from the 42037, and for a while I thought that other than the PP and vintage wheels that these were the only sizes at this scale. But recently I've realized that there must be more sizes, from seeing different mocs, specifically the pentax, when I tried to duplicate it's "hubcaps", and found they didn't fit. So my question is, how many sizes of wheels/rims are there (that can fit technic wheel hubs around this scale), and what tires fit which rims? (Just in case, these are the rims I have, sorry for the bad photo) https://drive.google.com/open?id=0Bw3xDAPnR3sbZnlhYTg2MUtJNms
  8. Yes, sadly we don't have much around here, no lego stores, or targets for that matter. Whenever we go on vacation to New York on New Hampshire we always go to Target, and the Lego store if there is one! Not that it's that bad, as lego stores seldom have that much you can't find elsewhere, other than the pick a brick wall, and even those don't usually have great selections... The 3D model screen things are cool though!
  9. I have to agree, that's not too bad! At least it doesn't look like it...
  10. Northern, that's as specific as I'll get
  11. Design process What goes into designing a new part? Is it like, you come to a point where the parts you have just don't fit your needs in the way you want so you make a new piece that does? And how long dies it take? Like you just make it, test it and done, or do you have to like, write a paragraph about why this part is needed and you can't just build around the problem?
  12. Oh how do I fix it Sorry was on my school account here is real link https://drive.google.com/open?id=0Bw3xDAPnR3sbQk4wdEZmTGJndVk
  13. Could you design a steered wheel hub, like the normal ones used in 42037, but instead of a slot for a cv joint, it has an attached half of a universal joint, like kind of recessed so you could have front wheel drive with full range of suspension travel? (If you do I promise I'll go make a donation to a local animal shelter :D)
  14. You could do an image search to see where that pic came from Just did found this http://www.rigidrc.com/shop/19--trailers-accessories Seems someone already found this site, but I,ll leave it anyway. Can't hurt anyone
  15. Nice! If you have 2 IR recievers, you should make the back 2 wheels powered independantly, so you can steer in wheelie mode!
  16. I've been reading and watching threads here for the better half of a year, and just finally got an account. So hello everyone! Also I know it's kind of unlikely, and rather specific and unnecessary, and feel free to completely ignore this, but if anyone is like, actually into technic AND in Vermont, feel free to say hi, some times I feel rather alone up here, and it would be nice to at least know I'm not the only one. And yes, because I've ACTUALLY BEEN ASKED THIS QUESTION, Vermont IS in America, not Canada.
  17. Hey, I have no outside knowledge of these things, so don't go thinking you're wrong just because I said something... What you said sounds right, maybe I should have phrased it differently. Also if you have BOOKS on this than you're probably more right than I am.
  18. I know at this point theres not a lot not known about this thing, and it's probably not that usefull information, but the lego youtube channel has been pretty good about answering questions about this, just in case anyone wanted to try that. Just thought I'd mention it Sariel's gonna destroy them for not protecting the stickers xD (sorry for quoting the video just remembered I'm not supposed to do that and I don't know how to fix it sorryyyy)
  19. Yeah most vehichles that are meant to go fast do [edit] technically all cars have a caster angle, but with some its more than others
  20. I find it somewhat hilarious how long it took me to figure out what was going on here, I never would have thought of a "roleplay" style thing like this here! A+ for creativity! and a solid A for the car itself (so far) Also it needs a cap for the shifter, how about one of these? http://www.brickshelf.com/gallery/jamesster/Other/new_and_old_skull.png
  21. like basically everyone else, my worst mocs weren't ever recorded, but my worst recorded project, which i admitted was a total failure at the time, is this horrid excuse for a crawler. edit - embedded video
  22. normally the wheels are even so the car is level but the front have a caster angle so as they are pushed up they go backwards to help at high speeds. also sorry if you already knew what a caster angle was
