US May The 4th Exclusive VIP Event April 30 9-10AM
Dorothy Vader replied to ACPin's topic in LEGO Star Wars
@lanesteele240: Brilliant ! @namioik: I've already read the entire thread! Maybe my question wasn't clear. I was asking for theories as to where the sets will go after they are returned; will they sit gathering dust, be given out at another event, or (as lanesteele240 suggested) be digested by the Sarlacc? -

@lanesteele240: Sounds fantastic! I'm tempted to ask more about the cake of which you speak, but we'd be in danger of going off-topic ; ) Where do you believe the 'left over' sets will eventually end up? -

Dorothy Vader replied to ACPin's topic in LEGO Star Wars
@lanesteele240: Fortunately myself and many other AFOLs/collectors aren't in the LEGO game for the money, rather, it is for the joy of the brick! Returning to the topic at hand, does anyone have any theories as to what will happen to the remaining "Space Slug" sets; will they be raffled off/handed out @ random during SDCC? -

"Escape the Space Slug" set instructions (inc. a full Parts list) are available via the following link: https://dl.dropboxus...nstructions.pdf Courtesy of Yodalego @ Brickset; all credit goes to this admirable LEGO fan! Bricklinking this set comes out to between £20-25 (inc. p+p); much less than either a minimum spend of £100 with LEGO or the extortionate prices of eBay : ) -

LOTR & The Hobbit 2013 Set Discussion
Dorothy Vader replied to CM4Sci's topic in LEGO Historic Themes
Picked up a Battle at the Black Gate set from Argos this morning and received £10 in vouchers: £5 for spending over £25 on Lego, and £5 for spending over £50 in store. Now, on to building ...- 7,499 replies

LOTR & The Hobbit 2013 Set Discussion
Dorothy Vader replied to CM4Sci's topic in LEGO Historic Themes
I really hope no one pays that much for Azog. Afterall, he's more than likely to turn up in a set sooner or later, and as I look at the SDCC 'exclusive' I'm thinking that the only thing 'exclusive' here may be Azog's weapon/club.- 7,499 replies

LOTR & The Hobbit 2013 Set Discussion
Dorothy Vader replied to CM4Sci's topic in LEGO Historic Themes
Probably not. I'm a VIP and I've received the same "Will ship by the 1st of July" comment on my receipt, but fingers crossed that this is only an estimated shipping date and that Orthanc will arrive earlier. Interestingly, when I look up my order it states the there's also a free Tower of Orthanc poster being sent out too. Anyone have any ideas as to what that's all about?- 7,499 replies

On the image: http://ow.ly/i/HJQX/original is the Balrog the wing'ed creature on a stack of paperwork on the desk to the right of Buzz and Woody (between 'guy with headphones' and 'balding huy', with the translucent blue ball behind it)? If it is then it looks good.
-
Link: Orthanc If you move from right to left and stop when you see the carboard cutouts of Woody and Buzz from Toy Story, to their left you can clearly see Helm's Deep, and to the left of that you can see the top 1/3rd of Orthanc! Let's hope that one goes into production! Ps. Apologies if this has already been spotted.

For the love of the Empire! I've just caved again and purchased an X-Wing and Vader keychain to get a fourth TC-14. Two SSD, 1 Y-Wing, and now this X-Wing has wiped my budget for the next two months. Although, that Hulk promo minifigure looks tempting ... (talk about the green eyes of jealousy)...

Coruscant with either a Senate Commando or (my preferred choice) a Senate Guard like the ones shown in 'The Padawan Menace'.

Collectable Minifigures: Feeling the Packets
Dorothy Vader replied to Jedi master Brick's topic in Special LEGO Themes
Feeling-out the minifigure is perfectly acceptable in my view. Having just read through this thread it seems that both child and adult fans of LEGO do this, and its a great when fans help each other out to feel-out the figures they'd like, when staff get involved, and when a child comes over and you help them find the one they want. I really don't care if some fans only want a complete set, or if they want to army-build the more popular figures. If I've earnt my money I want to know what its being spent on, be it armies of 33 Spartans, Elves, or Dwarves, or a solitary Cleopatra. Its all part of the fun, so good hunting everyone! -
I've just read the news about the potential LOTR LEGO = Brilliant! Now, away to the shops to buy as many Collectable Minifig. Elves and Dwarves as possible. I feel a 'Battle of the 5 Armies' MOC coming on.

LEGO Star Wars 2012 Pictures and Rumors
Dorothy Vader replied to XimenaPaulina's topic in LEGO Star Wars
Excellent pictures - cheers! I'm liking the look of the Endor BP (will wait for some discounts and deals to army-build), and the new Droid Escape (but only if it's the right price). Any sign of the LEGO 'Planet' sets? -
LEGO Pirates of the Caribbean Whitecap Bay (4194) now 50% off at thehut.com: http://www.thehut.com/10456934.html £35-99 looks a lot more appealing than £71-99!
-
Looks like LEGO are going to honour the price. I've just checked my account and my order's been updated to 'Shipped' at £183-99.
-
Weird!?! Will let you know if it goes back down, and if LEGO will honour my order at £183-99.
-
Posted this in the 'Buy, Sell, Trade and Finds' area already, but 10212 UCS Imperial Shuttle is currently £183-99 @ LEGO in the UK. It looks like this is a new adjusted price designed to bring the cost of the set more in line with global prices from other LEGO-loving nations.
-
LEGO UK have adjusted the price on 10212 - Star Wars Imperial Shuttle UCS: Product link The new price is: £183-99 (plus free shipping for all orders over £50 between the 1st and 30th of September). That's ~25% off, and you can always use VIP points to bring it down even more, plus you'll get VIP points on the purchase too!

Tescoes have a couple of LEGO sets on sale at the moment. I saw a couple of the small Atlantis sets on sale, and picked myself up a Midi-Scale Star Destroyer for £19.97. Kept the receipt becasue it reads: "milk (x2), toothpaste, star destroyer. Thank You for shopping at Tesco"
