Kaliphlin at Work - Day 9: Mophet - guardtower
adde51 replied to adde51's topic in Guilds of Historica
Cheers! Mophet is growing so I’ll try to make a proper post for it in HSS soon. More to come though, haha! Thank you! Fun to design a tower using a little less common colours (for this type of build). Glad you liked the road as well! Thanks a lot! Had some fun ”decorating” it Thank you, I’m glad you liked the decorations. A lot of fun working with these type of colours Much appreciated man, glad you liked it! Still trying to decide for a more cohesive look for roads in Mophet but felt this worked fairly well for the environment (maybe a little too ”rocky”). It does not have an interior, thought about it but was starting to run out of tan bricks... -
Cheers man! This is in fact a part of a larger MOC so stay tuned... glad you liked it man! Cheers man, appreciate it! Hahaha, I had to name him that.... Thanks man!

Kaliphlin at Work - Day 1: Mophet - Juz'albieta farm
adde51 replied to adde51's topic in Guilds of Historica
Thank you very much, glad you’ve liked them man! -
As Mophet grew, so did the need for a proper defense. Just outside the city, guard towers had been constructed and manning them were the newly formed city guard. They were a mixed bunch, mostly consisting of people from the badlands. Most of them saw it as a chance to better themselves, and most of them surely had a need to do so. No formal training was required to become part of the guard but once you were sworn in, it was a sacred promise to defend Mophet at all cost. A promise not taken lightly by those who served. Change of the guards, sergant Lumphaza greets a new recruit. Keeping a lookout at the top of the tower is tiresome work... Another addition to the collab, hope you guys like it!

Thanks man, glad you think so . Been a lot of fun creating a look for a city, while also trying to stay true to what other people have established for Kaliphlin

Kaliphlin at Work - Day 7: Swineherding in Wadi Khinz'ir
adde51 replied to adde51's topic in Guilds of Historica
I get your thoughts on the ground and in retrospect I probably could (should) have given more attention to that as well. And I agree with everything you’re saying, especially how the standard has been elevated quite a bit in just the past couple of years. The idea I had with going for that look was probably better in theory than it actually turned out, haha! Cheers dude!- 20 replies

Kaliphlin at Work - Day 7: Swineherding in Wadi Khinz'ir

Haha, thanks man! Really starting to like the dark orange more and more . Thank you! Spent a bit more time on the ground for this one so glad you liked it. And I will make sure to register Mophet in the HSS, just waiting until I've posted everything that I have built so far (which is still a bit more, haha!). Cheers dude! The mud is a bit of a mystery, haha! Thanks, glad I was able to convey that feel! These pigs are of course very fond of the dry climate, their avalonian cousins would have turned to bacon within seconds . Haha! Thanks man . I still have a few builds coming up that I finished before we started posting so I'm afraid there will still be some that leave a bit to be desired in the ground-area... . But rest assured I have heard what you guys have said and as soon as I'm able to continue building (in the process of moving right now...) I'll be sure to give the ground a bit more attention.- 20 replies

Thank you! Glad you liked the doors, trying to keep the samt style on those as well . Thanks man! You're right about the wall, it could probably do well with some wear-and-tear given the nature of the building. Cheers!

Book III - Kaliphlin: Guild sign-up and Discussion
adde51 replied to Kai NRG's topic in Guilds of Historica
Thought I would wait and post everything I have made for this collab and then I’ll be sure to get it all in the HSS for sure! Thanks for the heads up . Actually already started a wiki-page for Mophet, haha! HSS was, by the way, a great place to get inspiration for things to build as I expand Mophet -
Outside of Mophet, as well as all over Kaliphlin, plenty pf people spend their days working in the vast deserts. One of them is Ra'ei the swineherder. The work is hard, and at times very lonely, but the feeling she gets from spending the days in the vast landscapes that make up Kaliphlin is truly priceless (I almost feel like I should be working for the Kaliphlin tourist bureau, haha!). Ra'ei enjoying the Kali sunshine. So this is another one of my contributions to the Kaliphlin collab. Spent a little more time on the ground on this one . Even though it's a pretty basic technique, I'm fairly happy with the look as it (sort of) resembles a dried out old river. Thought that fit rather nicely with the look I was going for. Hope you guys like it, cheers!

Thanks! More is on the way which will show the marketplace in its entirety . Thanks man! Really like the colour of those pots too . Thank you, I get what you (and others, haha!) say about the ground and I agree that mixing in more colours would elevate the scene. The studs up approach was an attempt to mimic more rough terrain/soil (if that makes sense), the idea is to cover them with tiles later on as the city develops. But I absolutely get where you guys are coming from. Appreciate the feedback . Haha, thanks man! It's been a really fun collab so far som I'm glad you like it.

Very nice work man, I'll just echo what's already been said, especially about the blue parts scattered here and there. Very nice touch!

Thanks again man, that tan plate bothers me too but I didn’t notice it until I posted the pic (and now it really bothers me, haha!). I get what you are saying about the ground, which will probably be true for some if the builds I have lined up as well, but the idea is that Mophet is still a city that is being developed. So at this point it will be a lot more barren (studs showing) on the ground than what might be esthetically the best look. I will aim to do some adjustments later on though, with more tiles, etc. But I sort of wanted to go with that look in the beginning (not simply being lazy, promise ) now. And the ”you break it, you buy it”-policy is definately the reason the dwarf gets to stand where he is standing! Cheers!

Cheers man, feedback is always appreciated. I think I get what you're saying about the log bricks. It was however a conscious decision as I personally kind of like the look of the columns, but I get your point . The walls and the transition could have been done smother, for sure. Thanks man!

Ha'ri the potter (yeah, I named him that...) spends every day at the big marketplace in Mophet. His stand is right by the large gate so often times he is one of the first to greet the people visiting. Using clay from the reddish soil that is common in Mophet, his pots have become increasingly popular and business has lately been very good. My third contribution to the Kaliphlin collab. Hope you like it (as more is on the way, haha!).

The Isle of Druidham [Avalonia Task III]
adde51 replied to Henjin_Quilones's topic in Guilds of Historica
A lot to like in this one, great job. The water is superb but my favourite parts are the touches of pink which somehow fit in great! -
Nice work man, a lot of fun details and like I already told you on Flickr I really like the stairs in the background.
