  1. To be honest, I feel like Kiel hits the nail on the head with his approach to this game. Hypocritical as this seems coming from me, it's best to keep an open mind in a new setup like this, and I feel like that's something a lot of us didn't have (myself included, at times).
  2. Thanks for hosting, Zepher! It wasn't a perfect game, but I had a lot of fun, and it was exciting even after I died. Good job. And thank you to Rufus and fhomess for pulling it off all the way 'till the end. Thanks guys! Sorry for putting you in such a pinch. (Also, sorry to Hinck for not trusting him and being an all-around dick to him. I'll make it up to you someday... hopefully. ) I also have to congratulate DarthPotato, WBD, and Purpearl for doing a great job bringing a united town block to its knees. I really didn't think there was a way for you guys to win, and you definitely proved me wrong. Hell, I was proved wrong up until the last second. Very smart and impressive play; I look forward to seeing more excellent scumplay from you guys in the future. Good job to Trumpet for his scumplay via PM as well, but I've already touched on that in the deadboard. Not sure what to say about Esurient, honestly. While I'm impressed that you almost pulled off a serial killer win (and was secretly rooting for you for that reason, despite my comments on the deadboard ), I feel like it would have been much better if you'd participated more. But nobody can say you weren't involved; your last minute votes were sneaky and conniving. You just happened to not be in time both times. Now a little bit of constructive criticism for Zeph: Like Kiel said, we did know about these things when we signed up, but it's hard to measure what a game mechanic will be like when it's just down on paper. Too many bulletproofs indeed. I like the idea of a bulletproof SK, but making the inventors bulletproof was unnecessary. I honestly hate the god pill; when I heard about it I thought it'd be something akin to the dreaming god (I think Hinck mentioned that?), but anything that screws with lynches that much is overcomplicated. Plus, while the idea of one "great" pill in a pill game (one pill to rule them all, of course) is a really good one, it sort of turns the game into a race for that pill. Maybe a system with a minigame that's fair to all timezones would have been better? I don't think backups are necessities, but I love them here - and not just because I used them to cleverly take you down, either. Especially in a game where the cop and doctor are fused (and the town had fewer night actions - most notably a watcher/tracker), a way of keeping the night actions around is vital. The backup is perfect. It also presents interesting situations. Let's say the JOAT dies and he was in the town block. The backup however, is not. Now there's a JOAT who's not in the block, and the process of finding actions continues. The fact that it was able to serve as a coroner for a time was a definitely interesting twist as well. Two thumbs up for coroners. In fact, I'd say I'm against scum having backups for anything but killers (having seen what an advantage it can give them, ala Jedi Temple), but I think it was justified here, for balance reasons. I've kind of adopted def's view of scum actions; there has to be some penalty to them losing a member. They're a group of PRs all united from Day 1 - that's enough of an advantage. As for you personally not liking it, meh, that's a matter of opinion. I understand where you're coming from - you were having a good game and it was cut short by a night action result. However, look at it this way: you're a good scum PR and you target someone for the night. The tracker tracks you and sees you targeting said person. When asked what your action is, you lie and say you visited someone different. Because the tracker and the guy you told about your action are in contact, the town knows you're lying and you get lynched. Would that make the tracker role unfair? No. Of course you don't. There was no reason for you or for anyone else to assume that a tie became a random lynch. I hate to be this blunt, but there's really no other way to say it. Zepher said no lynch becomes a random lynch, not a tie. While it would have been good if he detailed what happened in the event of a tie, he was perfectly willing to provide information about it. It was a bit late to be asking things like that, since you were dead, but always always always ask the host if you're not 100% on something. I of course say all this in the best possible way. I have to agree that in terms of forum games, undisclosed setups are generally best (at least for 20+ players), but then again, we both did sign up for this. Just a different way of playing, I guess. Wow, that turned into mostly constructive criticism for Trumpetking. Sorry for stealing your constructive criticism, Zeph. I do think you ran an interesting game, though. Thank you!!
  3. You're holding in your hands the two halves of my heart

  4. Don't forget the Wii Fit Trainer!!
  5. I think I'm in baked good love.
  6. Yeti... Not bad so far. The Welder's pretty fantastic too, as is the Scientist. Not a fan of either robot, but that's to be expected. Looking forward to the Scarecrow, Grandma, Jazz Musician, and Constable!
  7. While I'd prefer to have 2 scum lynched, I'm fine with all non-town being revealed. Good game, guys! And thank you, role cop! Good night, sweet prince.
  8. Congratulations, you just lost. Should have taken my advice.
  9. NPC, if you're town and you see this, please vote for Witch right now. If you're the SK, either vote Witch or don't vote at all. Both help you. Snake Charmer implied that they know who you are; they're not going to let you win. Don't have any illusions about their intentions. They're doing this for a majority over the town so they can lynch me; eventually they'll lynch you (since they can't kill you) or outnumber you into a loss. Getting rid of the scum is optimal. There are 4 nonconfirmeds; I actually have no read between the four of them, and if I'm dead, all we have is 1 block per night to clear people. There is a very high chance of you winning if you eliminate everyone who knows your identity.
  10. Goodbye, sweet town! I take with me the corpses of two nasty scummos!
  11. I'm actually a very sporting kind of guy. The SK has absolutely 0 chance of winning once he reveals himself; we still have a blocker and I have every intention of having him block your killer and the SK intermittently at night while the rest of the town lynches you off during the day. The SK's absolute best chance is to vote with the town and stay hidden. There are still enough people who aren't confirmed for him to be able to play us off each other while he wins. Will he win? I don't know. I hope not. But he definitely has a chance of coming out on top if he doesn't reveal himself. It'd actually be hilarious if someone decided not to vote today.
  12. Alright, in any case, 8 people, 7 town. 4 town vote for DarthPotato, in my opinion. If something has to stay around, let it be the Fairy Tale pill. Vote: Snake Charmer (Darth Potato) I'm willing to offer the SK a deal. SK, if you side with the scum, there's pretty much no way you can win. The only way you can win is if you stay hidden and vote with the town. You can kill me tonight, taking out the investigation - nobody else will be able to find you "inscrutable". Witch and DarthPotato will die today, and I'll ask the blocker to block PGO (unless PGO is the SK, then congrats, PGO, you just threw away your only chance of winning by scumsiding). Not going out into the open is the only way for you to win. You can continue killing off townies until you either win or are found and lynched. If you reveal yourself, you are going to lose 100%. If you don't really care about the win, then oh well, I suppose it's just kingmaker at this point, and the game's a lost cause (unless something amazing happens).
  13. Alright, I'll take your word for it. I look forward to voting!! Right, not voting isn't a penalty in this game. New plan, by the way. Enemy number one is Witch. 4 votes on her first.
  14. Adam took the Bobblyhead pill before and now has to take it again... O mighty Werewolf, what shall you do?? Your death. I forgot earlier that you have penalties. We can now split the votes in such a way that makes it impossible for you and Witch to not be killed.
  15. Scum suck. I'll take the Mystical Pill. I love how the entire scum team claimed literally in thread just so they could be lynched and then blocked. Thanks guys! And now Darth Potato has to take the Bobblyhead pill, since Adam took it yesterday and can't take it again. Alright, anyways, with this new turn of events, we need a change of plan: Once voting opens, the first four people will vote for DarthPotato. The next four will vote for WBD. Bob might have revealed himself, but I do have another rather nasty surprise for those who don't cooperate.
  16. Alrighty, guys, here's how this is going to work. When the pill cart comes around, take a placebo. This goes to everyone. Do not take the God PilI. The God Pill's fate is yet to be determined. Similarly, do not take the Fairy Tale Pill. This is my pill today. DarthPotato can't take it again. Haha, suck it, Potato. I would also like to ask that nobody takes the Bobblyhead Pill. One person will receive a message to take the Bobblyhead Pill when the cart comes around. If they do not, they will be our second lynch. We have two lynches today, so let's kill two scum. There are eleven people left, so the votes are to be allotted as so: -Once voting opens, the first 5 people vote for DarthPotato. If you are one of the first five voters and do not vote for DarthPotato, you will be killed by the vigilante. -After those votes have been reached, either I or Cult Leader will tell you who the second target is. Everyone who has not voted at this point must vote for this person. As for vote candidates, we have Role Cop, Talking Animal, Goon, PGO, Witch, Tree Stump, NPC, and BONAD. There are 2 scum out of these 8 people. I'm inclined to say that Goon, Talking Animal, Tree Stump, and NPC are town. Goon and Talking Animal are very protown and sincere in-thread. NPC has been accused by LegoDad/Usurper/Godfather. Kadabra tried to get me to suspect Tree Stump via PM in such a way that no scum would ever do to their teammmates. So, for right now, Role Cop, PGO, Witch, and BONAD are our main suspects. I'd love to hear some opinions before the second lynch is revealed. And I'd just like to say thank you to the poor, sweet Hinck. Without you, none of this would be possible. We'll catch the rest of those scummy bastards for you, Hinck!
  17. Don't stoop that low yet, Animal! You'll get her next time.
  18. Is there some significance to the squirrel??
  19. No you don't, I did it for you. Just read my posts, you lazy bum!!
  20. I've gotten all the PR claims. If there's anyone who is a town PR but has not yet claimed to me, please do so now. I want to make sure we don't have any scummos trying to infiltrate our spectacular townteam. It'd be cool if PGO could actually, you know, sign on sometime soon. This is a great point; I can say with complete certainty that it will no longer be of any use to them. We'll be lynching confirmeds from here-on out. Maybe we should look into who was blocked last night... Is the NPC scum even though all 3 scum tried to get him lynched?
  21. It doesn't matter, actually. The God Pill can't die, and I'm taking Fairy Tale. He can't take Fairy Tale, and unless another scum wants to jump from the floorboards and steal it again, there won't be any of opposition to my taking that pill. Rufus is already bulletproof, so it doesn't matter who gets the God Pill. The worst that can happen is that Darth Potato will megabluck up our lynch again.
