Kaliphlin Guild: Homepage, Sign-up and Discussion
CptMugwash replied to Si-MOCs's topic in Guilds of Historica
Some fantastic embassies coming out of our guild, great job everyone. M'Lord Flagg, thank you for your kind comments and critique, I'll be giving the photo editing a shot and see how it goes, I wanted to get the embassy up in time though. I'll have a go and update the topic if I get around to it. Cheers. -
Mitgardia Lore - The origin of the Buraindo
CptMugwash replied to Flint's topic in Guilds of Historica
Nice use of the windshields for water flows simple but effective, good job on the dragon skull too, and the characters are cool. I do like things to do with magic. -
Lol, that big duplo flower is great, the windows are really nice, good use of those yellow wheel arches and great work on the foliage.
-
A bit late for the actual challenge but it's nice to still see watchtowers being made, and this one does look fun.
-
Haha, love it, agreed great comprimise, that crane is cool, I do like cranes. Will you be doing a completed version later?

Mitgardian Embassy in Fuchal, Avalonia
CptMugwash replied to Blockburn's topic in Guilds of Historica
Agreed with Niku some more plates varying in size would look good, it does have a classic feel though, I guess with the prefab corner pieces and trees and flat baseplate, a change from the heavily detailed mocs. I do like how you've got the building mixed in with the mountain and the stone timber half is good, the action outside is nice too. -
A pink roof I think the size of it is cute, whilst people have gone for big ones you've stuck to small, I'm guessing because of brick limits, the bars and clips are nice details, I think the landscape could have done with a bit more snow, typical mitgardia always snowing, I do like the interior, mmm shiney tiles.

Wow, what a fantastic round, the drow have been great hosts, the Maharaja of Samrd'dha thanks you for the opportunity to partake, although we did not go through to the second round we are happy, the match was fair. Rakta Vasana will relax now and watch the rest of the games and report back to the Maharaja. (Such a fun thing, I appreciate all the work you've done on this, it's great and you're damn lucky to have a girl that puts up with your lego habits especially on valentines day, I hope you made it up to her.)

Dr Rod's Nocturnus Embassy in Hykerbia, Mitgardia.

Awesome, looks like a proper modern bungalow with a fantasy twist and I'm a big fan of those light bricks I think the roof could have done with a chimney of sorts, mind you, if you have underfloor lava heating then you won't need one The abundance of tiles and the roof bricks is great, it has a nice modular building style fealing to it. -
Very nice, love that round shape and good job on the landscaping
-
A stunning moc, the embassy looks great against the landscape and I like the plants growing on the wall, the pond is lovely and the ducks are cute, those sunflowers from the MVR look nice too and the fence and steps are fab. Is there an interior? This is a wonderful embassy

It's great to see an Avalonian embracing the Kaliphlin style, the market place is great and yes those leprechaun pots are great, I always love new things like that, looks like they were meant for spices, forget gold. I've gotta try that palm technique on future mocs. The overall smoothness of it is beautiful and the accompanying story is great. I love seeing mocs brought to life like this, well done.

Stunning build there, loving the stonework on the bottom and the overall shape and style looks both Avalonian and Mitgardian, nice
-
Great carriage! You've definately embraced the werewolf minifig.

After seeing your wip pic and seeing this you have not dissapointed, this is fantastic, is the dome top part of the new starwars worlds? It's certainly refreshing from the gold ones. You've blended the two styles brilliantly and the star base is simply amazing, the swamp is very well done too, time consuming placing those tiles? I see those headlight bricks wanting something on them. The characters and details are good aswell. Good job.

SkaSo far I think all our embassies are great I didn't have enough bricks to have the same on the front but with a little variation. Is your's up? I do hope it is in time. I couldn't find it on the forum. MikeThat's something I like to have in most builds because it adds to the playability and I look forward to seeing those builds. Soccer Thanks, the arches work well for both mitgardian and avalonian architecture. Balth Cheers, a removable wall is just as good and gives you a minifig's pov. Kabel Thank you, I did try and think about adding some snow on top or something to make them fit in a bit better and thinking about it now I could have added some 4x4 white discs which might have worked, but I always think the domes are an easy way to incorporate the Kaliphlin style. Thanks for all the comments. -
Ah, stout mitgardian architecture will definately resist the brutal sandstorms of the deserts. For a level picture place your camera or phone on the floor and also some more shots from a different angle are always good. The walls and landscape are a bit bland but I can understand if you're short on bricks, I'd strongly suggest in investing in more sets and possibly bricklink. Look forward to seeing more mocs from you.

Definately Nocturnus, I love the second photo with those arches like that, very nice. The footsteps look good, the black tower against the white snow makes it really stand out, great work
-
Great work, snowball fight is great, colour scheme is interesting, not your standard avalonian but certainly a classic castle feel, infact the colour scheme is of a nocturnus orientation. Great snow work too.
-
When the rivers aren't frozen, an idea could be some kind of ice breaker ship, for another moc sometime. Cool boats, definately need to try and make one myself. The harbour and that crane is awesome.
-
Great idea, the mini boats are cute, looks like everyone is having a fun time.
-
Lovely story and lovely vigs, I especially like the first one, the floor is genius. Good job

Jakon Thank you, we are very honoured to have our embassy in your fine village. Eccles Thanks, the interior was the most fun for me, it's just a pain when you have to rearrange those tiles. Rob I had a few light bricks and wanted to use them, perfect opportunity and were pretty easy to do. My favourite is the bookcase too, horizontal tiles simple but effective, least favourite is the barrel holder I didn't know how to make a good one. Cheers. -
The whole thing is a build up to the shisha, it's really good, the scenes are great, it looks very busy there, the cog is great too, good job
-
It certainly is very atmospheric and I'm sure it would be superb had your bl orders arrived on time, it's a shame but I hope that when your orders do arrive you can finish it and post it back up.
