  1. Congrats Peppy, a well deserved promotion and a welcome addition to the staff! Watch out for the stalker kids, they're at it again...
  2. I was loyal until a certain Wyatt Fangorski converted me on the night of his death. I didn't even want to be converted, I already had a plan to get the next scum based on the rule of 3s (a horribly metagame-tastic but practically foolproof method of tracking down people when the roles aren't 100% random, and they never are) and it would have worked. At that point, we would have won. But noooooo... I had to face a GRIM future as one of the converted insanes. How does one get converted to insanity? Clearly the idea that we would all devolve into insanity was floating around prior to that or such conversion (and the conclusion) wouldn't be possible. But hey, I got killed by a flying car.
  3. I've had my basement treasure chamber for years, but it's not nearly as nice as yours (shown below). Here we see a couple of the lads, hard at work as usual. Probably renaming topics or blogging.
  4. You must go through a lot of forks doing those. I've got mine hanging in the basement.
  5. It's a combination of things. The older ones come into the world the same way that any unprinted or uncoated (imagine the Indy Idol without gold) piece does, they were sitting in a bin at TLG and someone said, "we don't need those, but we need more room, so sell them to someone" and off they go to a Pick a Brick somewhere (usually Germany). Lots of amazing stuff ends up in places like that, so if you're on holiday, stop in and check! The more recent ones you see, especially in blue and yellow and oddball colours, are largely fakes, I believe. I can't prove that, but I know that there is no reason for so many random colours to be appearing at this late stage. If it was early on, you might find a red test part, but prior to this recent appearance of odd colours, there were never any red ones around either. That makes me very suspicious, especially on a part that has been phased out/replaced. If someone has some and wants to provide a sample, I'd be happy to compare it to the various real varieties out there. As you may or may not know (but will), I collect rare parts in rare colours, especially things that don't appear in any set. Click the "Museum of the Absurd" link in my sig for details. One day, I plan to display the parts I've collected through the kind generousity of members just like ... YOU. *points at somebody in the 3rd row who has a pink trashcan or a black lamp post*
  6. 1 point for pedro! 1 point for Peppermint_M! 1 point for that scoundrel Shadows ISC! Lots of great entries here, just spreading the love around. If I had 100 points, it still wouldn't be enough for everyone.
  7. Aw, I love the turrets, they're like little bits of love from GLaDOS, spreading their joy wherever you go. Good job! Now... can you make one in minifig scale?
  8. An unknown number of both the Boba and Jango combo helmets exist in unprinted form. I have a couple. The same is true for unprinted rebel pilot, stormtrooper, clonetrooper and shadowtrooper helmets. There are many parts out there that one doesn't find listed in an official parts list.

  10. I didn't even want this set... until... bastard. I think the bed should have 1x1 round feet though, or maybe a 1x1 round plate, then 1x1 plate, then 1x1 round again. Or Fabuland fences! Those are great headboard/footboard pieces. Oooh, I'm reminded of the discussion Hinck and I had once about running a small contest centered around building household furniture and I still want to do it. Should have hijacked Fangy's contest for that. Maybe series 2!
  11. 1 point for pedro 1 point for Fugazi 1 point for lisgr Great entries that immediately reminded me of the sets that inspired them while taking on enough PoP personality to really fit the theme. A tough goal and one well met.
  12. 2 points for pedro 1 point for brickzone These are the two entries that most look like real sets we could have gotten. There are plenty of good points in the other entries, but they don't fit the intent of the contest as well. Great job everyone and thanks for participating!
  13. And after he's done, I'd like one or two for the Museum of the Absurd, please.
  14. It's never too late.
  15. Isn't any blog based on personal taste? How else would it be done, blogging by vote? What vote? Who's vote? What a silly question. The bloggers of CT or any other site, determine what they wish to feature and then do so. Are these same MOCs that you feel are being missed appearing on every other LEGO blog, but only being missed by CT? And if they were, would CT really need to feature them since they'd already been shown elsewhere? Bottom line, each blogger posts the things they find the most interesting/creative/impressive when they see them. There are no rules, no preferences given to specific builders or styles, and there is no intent to miss anything good that might be out there. If you feel that something great has been missed and is in a topic here on EB, please feel free to post in that topic and mention how much you think it should be blogged. It isn't going to influence our decisions, but it might be interesting to see what you think we're missing.
  16. Love it! It's a shame TLG seemed to forget about girls along the way, only half-halfheartedly trying to add them to their customer base. It seems like anything they did from the 80's on had to include pink or oversized doll figures and I think this ad shows the truth that they lost, girls just built with the same parts as boys. They'll figure it out again at some point. I think I have that exact Shell station from an eBay lot of sets from that era. Those pre-minifig sets are a weird scale, but I still think they're neat, plus the bricks are a little heavier and make a much more satisfying sound when swished around. Oh, and the reds are better. MUCH better. Thanks for sharing!
  17. The Best Zombies are Grave Fresh Zombies™ Nice job! I'm really enjoying this series, keep up the grave great work.
  18. Nope, but you can link to a gallery that includes such a picture and mention that in your entry, as you would thinking, Dunjohn.
  19. Oh yes, that's so right. Someone save me. A good question! I think we definitely have two situations going on here. We have human killers who can't turn their victims into lunch, and we have demons who can. Are they related? Maybe, maybe not. We need to analyze each death to see if there is a pattern in the victims. I can't think of anything about Sandy that would make anyone want to kill her. Well, maybe the nag nag nagging she did, but that just made me want to break up with her sometimes. I just don't know ...
  20. If so, we can certainly fix that problem.
  21. That all explains a lot. Thank you for coming forward, Ellen, it is exactly what we needed to start putting the pieces together. I think you've made some very important points, plus I'll add that as I said, the person who goes along with the wrong votes, but acts like they aren't entirely sure, always looks suspicious to me. If they are so unsure, why do they keep doing it, failure after failure? Because it kills the people they want killed. The person who most fits this patter, as well as your theory is... Vote: Bill / Big Cam I'll stake my life on it at this point. Well, I am staking my life on it, since I think we're in desperate trouble if we don't make the right move here. Getting their killer would make the rest almost too easy. It's about time we got a break and this is it, I think. Assuming this is correct, I suggest you block Pryce tonight. If this is wrong, may God have mercy on our souls.
  22. Coming forward was supposed to start a conversation that would hopefully achieve something. I had hoped it would occur differently, but instead I will try spelling it all out and hope that the people who I am addressing will understand the message and act in our best interest. There has to be someone out there who knows what we need to know or this game of life is horribly unbalanced. Things to consider: 1. There are still actions out there, and given the situation with Seth, I have to believe that there is at least one more sane besides me who has one. At this point, we need whoever that is to provide any information they can that might help, or we're probably dead today. I fail to see how you can still not realise how close this must be. Read the intro. We need a successful conviction today. Successful. Not an "oh gee, she has an action, let's kill her like we did the vigilante, hur hur." 2. I doubt that Ricky is one of the remaining insanes before they start trying to get him killed (he is clearly a threat to them at night, so they would likely want to trick us into killing him instead). Given that I saw his attack and can confirm that it was exactly as presented in the morning, I have no reason to doubt that he has a purely defensive weapon. You might want to consider anyone who has attacked him for having that axe when it's been clearly shown that no one has been killed with it. 3. When Ricky was attacked by one of the insanes, that killer was saved by some form of protector or blocker. A loyal one given the way the things have happened in later days (when they are both insane we see them cooperating to achieve the kill). To reiterate point 1, if he was a loyal blocker or protector and is still alive, he needs to come forward to identify who he blocked or defended. He may be dead now, since we've lost several people since then, but if he isn't, he could give us our answer and is just too afraid to step forward. I, for one, will believe him if he says the right things. I can confirm or deny that based on what I did see, so it 's a great opportunity if someone takes it. 4. Someone hit me in the head before the incredibly confusing Deborah situation. After reviewing the trivial amount of information I was given on the subject, the only thing I had previous missed in the form of a clue is that I smelled something funny. I don't know what that means, maybe someone else does? When you add that the voice in the sky made a rather cryptic comment regarding her elsewhere, I can't help but conclude that Seth's death and the weird way in which it occurred is possibly the key to figuring out something today and making a correct vote. It's all I have to go on unless the blocker/protector steps forward, my other attempts to watch people all resulted in no one doing anything. I'm sorry the information I have isn't more helpful, but it's all I was given. I would have revealed my role sooner, but it isn't likely to be effective if people know you can do it. I don't think we'll survive the night at this point, so I may never see another result from it anyway. As you can tell, what I know is very limited and admittedly not that useful, except to clear Ricky as far as I am concerned. Remember: he and I can both be out at night, but so can others, we've seen proof of that, and at least one of them is loyal. It's the ones who are afraid to speak about their actions who I suspect most, though given the immediate desire to attack me, I now find it hard to blame them. Please look past that and realise that this is it, do or die time, so there is no use in being afraid. Get out here, help us, and we can all get off this damned island. If I die today because you attack the only person who has stepped forward to try to help, you can't really blame anyone but yourselves. Given the pattern of this game of life, I'll be asleep when the voting starts and ends as I have been for the past few as you've rushed to kill sane people including, apparently, our vigilante, and Deborah, who had some kind of sane role, though I'm uncertain what it was. I would suggest that you look at the voting pattern to see who enthusiastically supported the needless deaths that have occurred, then dial it back a couple of notches to spot who 'casually' supported them, not the one taking the stand and the heat from it, but the one who said, "oh well, I don't know, I guess we need to kill someone". Point a finger in that direction, there is your most logical insane, the one who supports all the wrong deaths but does it 'reluctantly' while continuing to make the same exact 'mistake' day after day. If they were so reluctant, why would they keep doing it? They may get a little more desperate in their attack today, given the taste of victory on their insane tongue, but they'll probably back off if they think someone might catch on. Watch for that as well. I trust that if you look for it carefully, you'll see it. Or we'll all die. I'd rather not die, but as we can't vote yet and we're out of waffle batter, there isn't much for me to do but wait. I have a good idea who one of them is, and I believe that Ricky does as well, unless I've been wrong about him. I suppose I'll find out tonight. Use your brains, people, before they end up as fish food.
  23. No, it's just representing someone dressed in a way that still exists in their home country. Clearly, this figure works as a mariachi in Mexico where he thrills the tourists with his traditional garb and music. It's no more negatively stereotypical than the mime. It's more like the cowboy in that sense. Typical, even a bit stereotypical, but not negative. Had he been portrayed with pistols and representing a bandito, you might be able to make the claim of racism (though there is historical relevance to that representation as well, and these figures do sometimes go historical). That said... I love that figure and all of these. It's a great assortment, maybe even better than series 1. I hope we see more of these to come.
