SW Ultimate MiniGig Challenge: The Grand Final
Shadows replied to captaintau's topic in LEGO Star Wars
Tyranus fights a very proper and orderly fight. Anakin slices him to bits and then redices those. He slices, he dices, he makes julienne potatoes. Call now and we'll include a spare hand for those times when he slips up. Anakin wins. -

At least it looks like Playmobile doesn't mind making female figures *wub* A post office wouldn't be bad. Maybe that's part of the mysterious "Town Plan" we saw the partial leaked inventory for. If not, maybe it should be.

Looks like it really does have more potential than originally imagined. Still thinking of building a much larger door and having the included one serve as a tauntaun exit (for those mythical ones we'll never get). :'-( Bit disappointed that they really did use x-pod lids as regular parts, considering the unnecessary slots, but I guess they're passable. Especially like some of your interior work. Could always use one of your Hoth rebels to make a Hoth Leia and Han isn't really that obvious. I'd use this torso if you really want something closer. (dustiest pic I've ever seen on there) Definitely interested in seeing how you modded that Falcon to give it a proper hallway, all within the original parts selection. 8-

SNOT. Studs not on top. It just makes me giggle. BURP. Big ugly rock piece. Ditto. A pattern is developing... ;-)

Sure, you know you're safe for a while. Nobody kills the comic relief captain this early. :-P At least I didn't speculate on whom it would be *cough*nerd*cough* ;-) Oh, and it's nice to see that at least one of you has been paying attention to your horror movie standards and knows the do's and don'ts of these situations. Well, except for wanting to return to the scene of the first grizzly murder, a place well stocked with all kinds of nasty murder weapons that could easily be turned against you, but hey, who am I to say? :-|

Ok, since there really isn't a "comment on / heckle" the mystery thread, I'll do it here. Narrator, my megabloks, he's the puppetmaster and you're all on his strings! DON'T OPEN THAT DOOR! He's just trying to get you all running around out in the open, and shocker ... one of you will die and it won't be him! >:-( *wacko* I'm sorry, I just had a horror movie moment. The one where all the teen campers find the cabin to hide in and one of them decides it's a good time to go off to the basement with his girlfriend, only to end up harpooned to the wall. I don't even know where the killer gets a harpoon out in the middle of the woods, but he always manages. Ooooh, one of you is soooo dead. *runs back to watch it happen*

Did a similarly theme in the living room once, only with the addition of some shells and a large framed chart. I spy some Harbor Lights and a Lefton, I think. Still have a few HL's around, though I can't remember which ones anymore, just that my favourite one was red and white striped and a fairly early release. Your pics make me want to revisit that theme, but this time around I want a cannon. Local metal detector/treasure hunting supply store sold both replicas and authentic salvaged ones, full sized and carronades (sp?). Nautical On! *y*

It's such a good toilet I've already stolen it, added a handle, and filed it away for future use *y*

FINALLY! Someone said the three magic words that belong in every sig. ;-)

Actually, I got a bunch of parts orders in today and all that exposure has taken it's toll. It isn't me talking, it's the LEGO! *wacko* (speaking of which, does it seem particularly slow this evening? you'd think people went and got lives or something, but that's just silly)

In an unexpected move today, The LEGO Group has admitted to dusting it's popular line of building toys with addictive chemicals designed to absorb into the skin and lead to a dependancy on their product.

An eBay find that just made me laugh too hard

It's not nice to do that while I'm drinking something ... Now you know the real source of the mysterious sloshing sound. :-$ I think it's following you! You're a jinx, a jonah, you're blowing an ill wind! Well, you did seem to have that gas problem in the last chapter. :-X *wonders if anyone in the world will get his movie quote and understand just how well it fits the situation* Not a chance. Oh, and the seller is still a crook. What do we do with crooks, Cap'n? -
Ultimate Star Wars Minifig Challenge: The Finals
Shadows replied to captaintau's topic in LEGO Star Wars
Vader is actually more easily confused at this stage than Anakin, less driven by anger and more ... whiney. It's where Luke gets it. I think I'll have to agree that the combination of focus, sheer anger, and LULS all make this a battle for Anakin to win. -
Simple, effective, unexpected inside lighting. I especially like the platform. I see too many train stations that just sit on the ground and one is left to wonder how passengers board the train. Not yours *y* Any chance of seeing that yellow and white building to the right? I think I could like it a lot.
-
The configuration is crazy, but I like the seperate buildings a lot. *y* What's the story on the dead guys?
-
Don't they always pull the "humans are good, everything else is bad" routine? Look at Rock Raiders. Humans go mining through the mountains ripping up anything in their way to take crystals. The "bad guys" (it was such a weak theme it barely had any opposition) were ... rock monsters. Well sure they're mad, you're tearing up their homes and taking their shiny crystals. For all we know, that's food to them. Or the rocks with crystals are actually eggs. Wow, that reminds me of a terrible Star Trek episode from the original series. Whatever the case ... |-/ Exo-Force? Good humans, bad robots. Oh sure, the robots must be bad. Well who built them? Bad humans, but we never get to see any of them. I miss the days of good old fashioned human on human violence! That sounds so wrong, but at least it was honest. Knights vs Knights. Pirates vs Imperials. Johnny Thunder vs Whatever-we're-calling-the-bad-guy-this-time.

Ultimate Star Wars Minifig Challenge: The Finals

And then Sauron quietly has him completely edited out of the last LotR. This furthers past rumours of a torrid love-affair between *yoda* and Sauron. Though it is said to have ended 'poorly', love never really dies and the pain of losing Yoda drove him to evil. *wacko* -
That is most impressive, even with the oddity of seeing the two factions mixed like that. I appreciate the use of Eldorado as the docks/gate and then the rest behind that. As Mr. Tiber has inquired, please tell us that there are more pictures of this wonderful work. *y*

Ogel Industries vs. Eco-Force! I'm getting bad mental images here, as much as I like the concept. Love that piece, never been willing to pay the price. Throw in some: and and plenty of tiles with dials and gauges, round bricks, hoses, and cones. The real trick would be the plot. Sure, the 'good guys' want to stop the 'bad guys' but how do they do that? Typical LEGO method would be destruction. So in an effort to stop pollution, they blow up factories? Sabotage? I don't think a terrorism theme would be popular these days. I really do like the idea, but it's clearly an AFOL based theme, not something that could ever be done otherwise. I think it falls somewhere in the Apocalypse and Steam Punk areas, and looking at Brickshelf I see some small things that would be useful for it, but no one seems to have overcome the difficulties in representing something as large and round as a nuclear reactor. I'm going to keep watching this thread to see if something inspires me. The idea is good, the execution is cloudy.

Yep, definitely sand blue (a colour I'm growing to appreciate). If this does turn out to be the real deal, it won't come with more guns than minifigs, that's just un-LEGO, so we'd have to either expect an adjustment there. I can't see them going away from the 4 figure battlepack formula, which would probably mean another Stormie, but there is no way that would come in at $15 with that much in ship parts. That said, a lack of stickers isn't that unusual for a prototype. It is an EU ship, but why they would pick it is beyond me. Stormies on the side sounds more like the old Kenner troop transport (a lame but nostalgically memorable piece of crap). I assume the thing the pilot is carrying is meant to be some form of charge pack / bomb. The flick missiles are annoying and make for an ugly space when empty. Oh, and the cargo box seems useless, yet has a lot more to it than usual. A round tile and a handle? Wait... The back end opens? Otherwise, why the hinged arms on top leading back to those large curved (wth do they call them there? wedges, plates, slopes, even bricklink seems to call them different things sometimes). That would mean that nearly every part except the cockpit is hinged somehow. Weird. If it's real and $15 (or less), I'll buy quite a few.

*shows a quick flash of ankle* There's more where that came from ;-)
