  1. I'm especially fond of the fusilier, he looks great with the high boots! *y* Only question is ... are these taller than a normal minifig? They look it, but maybe not by more than a plate height. Custom Legs On! *y*
  2. Wow, thanks! *wub* *y*
  3. Yes please, that would be lovely. *wub* *y*
  4. <insert a 'reading your face' joke here> :-P Yeah, I always wanted them in community, and was told they belonged in general. Then *yoda* moved this one where I'd always said they belonged, but seemed to indicate he'd done it before, though all the rest are in general. Don't ask me, I'm just along for the ride. ;-) I know! We need a new EB News Interviews forum! *runs off to start a thread* :-| :-P
  5. We're in community now? Cool! That's where I thought it should be a few interviews ago, but did Staudie listen? Oh noooooo, not him, not my cub reporter :-| X-D You know, all the others are still stuck in General though, this is the first one you've moved ;-) Nevertheless, all future episodes will appear directly in community! Thank you for your kind assistance *yoda* *y* We here at EB News thank all of you for the kind words as well. These interviews are a lot of fun to put together and will hopefully run for a long time. :-)
  6. Me Staudie Ras 74 Welcome to EB Community News! Our special guest this evening is Ras 74. Sure, you know him for whacking Hinckley, but he's so much more than that, as we'll learn in the next half hour. Let's switch over to cub reporter Staudie right now, for his in-depth interview! *scene switches to Ras 74 and Staudie* Now you are annoying me ;-) Wait until he starts the interview ... Q. Why the name and the odd sigfig? A. Well I was like many other people not that creative when I first signed up. That was back on FBTB *Can I say FBTB or will it just say "MEGABLOCK" instead* My full name is Rickard Rasmusson, so I just took the first 3 letters in my last name and added 74 which is my year of birth. Most people call me "Ras". Don
  7. Oh yes, most certainly! Please be sure to do that! X-D *y*
  8. These fall under the "please LEGO, produce more of this" line ;-) Seriously, figure packs have always been a class of their own, as said already. I kind of appreciate it when things don't fit a definite pattern. I don't want background information to my sets, I don't need a storyline, so putting them in a specific subtheme doesn't mean anything to me. I just had a funny, unrelated thought. LEGO should have put out a Halloween set with some of these and some of the old castle and space torsos as kids trick-or-treating. A cheap way to reuse something old, and sell a load of them in the process. Oh well.
  9. You're cool with me. *y* Look at it this way. Mistakes happen. With maturity (and I don't mean age), they happen less often. Over time, I think we all increase the quality of our posting, but it's a learning process. When I started here, I didn't feel secure about posting much. :-$ I got past that and probably posted too much. X-O Now I make about 2/3rds of the posts I start, meaning that I type half of it out and think to myself, "does this really add anything to the discussion?" or at least "is it funny (to me)?" and decide to just skip it. Right now some of you are trying to figure out just how bad those skipped posts must be, based on the ones I do make :-| X-D Bottom line... take a deep breath before posting. Reread what you've written. Decide if it's something you want permanently out there as a part of you, and if so, post away. If not, wait for the right moment, the right topic, the right thought, and then put it out there. Most of all, have fun. :-)
  10. I pretty much have to go with what Athos said, especially the door and hair pieces. Basically, any line LEGO wants to produce that gives us new hair, hat or helmets, even that wacky exoforce hair, is good to me. I'm just as excited to get Indy's hat and Marion's hair as I am by the rest of the new Indiana Jones line. New Pieces On! *y*
  11. It all seems perfectly reasonable to me. Perhaps you should post this over in the LEGO Confessions thread as well, since it qualifies. ;-) Personally, I've always viewed money in terms of what else I could do with it. A good example is drinks. When you leave the house, do you take something with you, or drop a few bucks here and there for something out? Unless I'm eating somewhere, I completely avoid drinks out, as they're always horrendously overpriced (and since I drink tea and nothing but, they are rarely as good as what I make for literally pennies). That doesn't mean that I view all money in terms of LEGO, but it's definitely one priority in the process. Bottom line is to always get the most for your money, whether you have a little or a lot. Penny Pinching On! *y*
  12. * resists the urge to make all of the obvious and predictable jokes he could and sticks to the topic instead ... shocking, isn't it? ;-) * I like them both. A lot. I really wish one of you was a crappy builder so it would be easier to vote in these things. That said, I have cast my vote, and it was for ... one of you. X-D On a side note... if one of you does ever visit the other, hold a live and in person build off right there, take all of the pictures with the same camera in the same setting, and really mix us up. *y*
  13. Clearly a step above your average swabby with his stylin' hat, lost a leg in battle, but still very much like those who are below him, I view him as the pirate equivalent of a military sergeant. Sort of the guy who would be in charge below decks and able to answer directly to the captain. Easily rebuilt from misc parts, he isn't overly valuable, and yes, a more unique head would be nice, but he's still a necessary and treasured part of any pirate crew. *y*
  14. Oh, it burns! :-P No, I mean looking at his face :-X
  15. Personally, I'd be happy with a T, a curve, and 2 straights for $20 or so, but I don't see it happening. LEGO doesn't seem to like giving us much in the way of baseplate options. No blue plates, no tan plates, no white plates. They couldn't be that hard to offer through S@H, and with sets like Hoth and the AT-AT, people would grab stacks of white, just as an example. As a result, I bought a pile off eBay. Still leaves me wanting more tan and white, but at least I have enough roads and blue for now. Baseplate Mass-production On! *y*
  16. I'd give this post a 6. :-P
  17. Welcome LeLee! Quite an impressively professional website there, and very informative. I went looking for your LEGO work and found the entire rest of your life, which is something we don't always have the opportunity to learn about in this forum, so it was a nice change. :-) You may enjoy chatting with our own local actor/LEGOmaniac Hinckley, as it seems you share that interest in common as well, just on opposite sides of the pond. *y* Brickside Bay On! *y*
  18. The show must go on, and all that? ;-) Big Billboard o' Doom appropriately updated! X-D
  19. Great work and such an original palette of colours represented! *y* What colour are the 4x4 rounded fences used for the balcony? I can tell they aren't brown, but they don't look red either, so I'm lost ... Oh, and why is it that everytime someone (I'd have sworn it was you before, too) uses a baguette in one of these, it looks mildly obscene? 8-
  20. I always wondered why the place smells like that ... :-X :-P
  21. Your LEGO should make you happy. If it does, you can't be using it wrong. See how simple? ;-)
  22. Very nice! A Hinckley in a HinckleyMech carrying a HinckleyBot. It's all very... Hincktastic! I can't believe you lost a bunch of mech competitions with this kind of skill. Maybe it's time to enter another. *y* HinckleyMechaBotBash On! *y*
  23. Why not? Some Canadians have been doing that trick for decades now...
  24. Somebody really knows how to throw a party, nice job Mandy! *y* Hope you had some of that cake after Hinckley blew it out (how did the whole cake end up on fire, more of *yoda*'s cooking? ;-)). Here's to both of you on your birthdays. Astrologically, that is supposed to tell us that you two are very much alike. I'm not sure why, but suddenly I'm scared ... 8-
  25. Thank you so much! Seeing them together like that, then the decals used, then the original examples brings it all together. An incredible job! I might just have to make my own of each, just as samples. *y*
