Yes, that part isn't available in lbg unfortunately, and a brick built nose is too big for the small speeder. The orange/DBG details on the nose are carefully cutout stickers from Lego's speeder.

Pretty sad that this looks to have been stolen by the well known Chinese knock off company. I saw a link to a seller earlier today, they even have 'ST04' in the title.

So, I built one of Anio's AT-AT's last year, and recently decided to build another for my Hoth display and mod them both for more accuracy. I built my own feet, reskinned the head and made the top plate a stud wider, and rebuilt every panel including raising up the top of the body to better recreate the slight hump and grille sections there. I also added opening troop hatches and changed leg details. They're not perfect, as there are limitations to what you can include due to size and available space, but I think they're a lot more accurate than the original.

I painted several hundred parts for Anio's C3PO. I used normal hobby/enamel spray paint, a coat of primer then the paint. You need to do a couple of thin coats, put it on too thick and the bricks won't clutch properly.

Ah I missed that - thank you, that's saved me switching out the LED's!

Looks great, I've admired MB's model for some time. However, I think you've made the same mistake with the mandible LED's as I have on my EP7 UCS Falcon - they're supposed to be red as far as I can make out, and there are white floodlights inside the centre cargo docking area. I'm now hoping someone can show me there are white lights on the mandibles too, as it will save me some work changing them over!

There are a few, the ones I use are mainly UK based but there are others out there. Lego Star Wars minifigures and collectors, and Lego sell, swap and share are the main ones I have bought from. Thank you. I do have plans for a bigger ion cannon, same Lowell sphere construction but around 2,000 parts instead of the 1,000 of the current one. 1x2 white jumper plates are on the PAB wall at my local LEGO store so I already have more than enough of those, I'll use around 600 in a sphere that big.

I don't have a huge budget - don't get me wrong, it wasn't cheap but I haven't spent thousands. I asked for bulk buys of white on some FB pages and got around 8 kilos that way, plus another 5 kilos from friends, then more from a few trades. Anything useable, I used, even if it was fairly yellowed. Last year I bought 16kg of brand new lbg and dbg from someone for under £200, that has saved me a fortune on builds. A member of our LUG has a shop and luckily has a huge amount of 16x16 white plates, and I ended up buying 170 in total! Bricklink orders made up the rest. As for space, I have an 8 feet by 6 feet brick shed where I do all my building, so I can't lay out anything as big as this. I had to move the base into the house to look it over, then back into the shed and do the same with the battlefield. I never saw it fully assembled until yesterday!

Haha I remember! I'm applying to display at Brick Tastic, so I'll be needing more white bricks!

Thanks for the kind comments, I hadn't even seen it setup myself before today as I have nowhere to put it all! I've only seen it in various sections, I won the public choice award for best display which I was immensely pleased with as I've only done a couple of displays and this is the first scene I've ever built. A few more photos - the base has a long power/generator type room, medical bay with bacta tank, pilot briefing room, ion control and main control room, with LED lighting in the control room and above both sides of the hangar. I ordered some custom printed clear panels for the control room but unfortunately they haven't arrived on time. There have been some amazing Hoth builds posted here, whether full scenes or individual elements, and I took inspiration and ideas from many of those, as well as simply trying to replicate what was on the screen in front of me when I watched the scene or stared at a still for the 50th time! Future plans are to extend the base by 16 studs in both width and length, this will enable me to fit another X-Wing bay as it's bugging me that I haven't got a second one with a service gantry above it. I may also be able to fit an ice corridor in and get Vader in there too. Thank you, I didn't know there were other Eurobrickers there!

My Battle on Hoth display from Brick Con today. Credit to various people, Gol for the AT-ST (who says they won't stand up properly, that one has been stood for 8 hours being wobbled all over!), Anio for the original AT-AT and Snowspeeder build (though I've completely rebuilt almost all of it I would have struggled without the originals to work from). I've been building it for around 5 months and in total have used around 30,000 bricks.

A Bricklink shop in Germany had a ton of them recently for under £3 each, I bought 8 for two AT-AT's I built. Edit: I've just checked and several stores have high numbers of them for under £3 each.

Always trust the parts list on the PDF's with Anio's builds. I've imported lists from Rebrickable several times only to find I'm missing parts, or have the wrong ones. For instance, all the part numbers on Rebrickable for the hoses on Speeder Bike are wrong, and I ended up with a load of flexible pneumatic hoses instead of the rigid ones they should be.
-
I think the issue with big AT-ATs is always going to be stability because of the heavy body and thin legs. I've built Anio's, which at 2,500 or so parts and 50cm tall is pretty much perfect UCS scale. While it stands well enough, there's a knack to arranging the feet and legs into the right positions. I think if Lego do release one, they'll sacrifice a fair amount of accuracy in exchange for stability.

I got my stickers from Ultimate Collector Stickers, he's actually a friend of mine. He has a FaceBook page and advertises on Ebay too. The paint is a standard off the shelf hobby acrylic that just happened to be a close match, it's a little darker than Lego's dark red but close enough.
-
Anio's A-Wing isn't that expensive to build, somewhere around £250. The only parts I didn't bother with are the 6x6 trans blue dishes as they're from the ISD and cost £25+ each. I keep meaning to get some webbed trans blue dishes to use but keep forgetting! The build does require you to paint some parts or use colour subs, I found a very close match to the dark red so painted all the parts the same as Anio did. I also bought two extra white wheels and painted them dark red instead of paying £12 each for them in that colour.

[MOC] [LDD] UCS INCOM T-70 X-Wing Fighter
NorvernRob replied to All in the Reflexes's topic in LEGO Star Wars
I would 100% buy and build this, fantastic work. It's the best looking T70 I've seen, love the lighter blue too. How big is it in comparison to 10240, it looks bigger from the images? -
You can get 155 2x4 in a large cup, so a minimum of 310 2x2. One and 1/3 cup and that's your 2x2 sorted. No idea on the 4x4 plates but I'm getting a large cup full of 4x6 white plates on Monday so will have a better idea! Plus you can fill any gaps with small pieces as a bonus.

You can upload an LDD file directly to Bricklink to generate a list.

Bricklinking the Lambda-Class Imperial Shuttle 10212
NorvernRob replied to Spud The Viking's topic in LEGO Star Wars
I've got most of the parts for this, there isnt much that is really expensive. I've specified only new parts, and will comfortably get the whole thing in under £300 with no substitutions. -
I didn't realise some parts went missing during the export, I was Bricklinking Anio's AT-AT, BB8 and A-Wing at the same time so had a lot to keep track of! When I got around to checking the inventory I then realised I was some parts short so just put another order in to get them. I'd just double check the list and manually add anything that's missing.
-
So good I built two! Just waiting on a couple of parts to finish them 100%, I've made each slightly different too. It's a very clever design, I love how the whole thing is supported on those two ball joints, but there actually isn't any strain on them as it's all about balancing the head - which is tricky at first but you soon get the knack of it. Thanks Gol.

In some Scandanavian countries (Finland for one) the new DS is €599, equivalent to around £510 or $700!

Lego Bricks&Pieces has the LBG 10x10 dish. I bought a few recently, along with a load of 12x3 LBG wedges as they were cheaper than anyone on BL. The 10x10 dish is less than £2 from Lego.
