Forklift
drakmin replied to GuiliuG's topic in LEGO Technic, Mindstorms, Model Team and Scale Modeling
Really great functions and the model looks good too! It looks so good that I'd like to see the steering wheel rotate as you drive around. Anyway, your fork (;D) gave me 100% positive feeling. -

Minor progress, shape of the Citroen seems to be a lot harder to get right than I first thought. I'm not sure if I'm able to finish this in the same quality as my starwars moc's ;D -

Ground clearance motor is still unattached, bigger pictures when the mechanics are completed. I think I'll try to do a frame for the car body next to see how much I have space for mechanics. -

This is the smallest front wheel drive I was able to build. It has bare on/off cluth but it's better than nothing. I'll make the gear stick affect it. -

drakmin replied to drakmin's topic in LEGO Technic, Mindstorms, Model Team and Scale Modeling
I should have been more specific :D I haven't seen good Technic builds of either one! Anyway I chose the Citroen to start with. Front wheel drive is good challenge with very limited space. I wan't to make it as realistic as I can with my part collection. -
Hi, I'm pretty new to these forums as I discovered Lego's again after a break of 15 years. I've already done two technic starwars mocs but now I'll start a car. I've been thinking of De Lorean dmc-12 and Citroen BX. DMC would have cool doors but Citroens adjustable ground clearange isn't bad either. I think Citroen's shape fit's better for technic. Stay tuned for photos of DMC or BX very soon ;D Here are the previous builds to show the quality: Snowspeeder thread X-Wing thread. These are the car's to choose from. I haven't seen good quality builds of either one: Thanks for reading!

Thanks! Technic sets usually have blue seats so I decided to follow the tradition. Here's a low quality cellphone video:- 114 replies

Speeder is now finished. It has some shortcomings mostly due to limited part collection but overall I'm satisfied with it. Fallenagel: you have been great help, thank you! Where's the photos? I'll take photos and a video of functions tomorrow during daylight. ;D- 114 replies

I hope the guns distract you and prevent seeing the missing "power couplings" of whatever they are called. I need to redo those. Interior of the cockpit still missing aswell.- 114 replies

That's because I've just started building Legos! I'll try to do some videos when the speeder is finished. At the moment there are other kind of"diy" videos like ghettoblasters I've built and some music I've composed ;D- 114 replies

Radiators are now in angle. Ran out of light gray parts for the rear of the cabin so don't mind that. I'll fix the colour later.- 114 replies

[MOC] Technic Rebel Snowspeeder
drakmin replied to drakmin's topic in LEGO Technic, Mindstorms, Model Team and Scale Modeling
At the moment it's due to part limitation, had to save couple better fitting parts for other use. I'll try to get more parts soon. I'm still considering between more technic or "normal" legos. I'm not sure if the mix of both types would look good and I'm leaning a bit more into the 100% technic direction. Anyway here's a bit progress. Added the opening half of the cabin. Here are the set's used for x-wing and this: And here's todays progress considering T-47. Some bad colour choices because of the limited parts, I'll change them later.- 114 replies

Hehe :D Btw. which easy to get non technic set has the most light and dark grey parts? Are any of the currently sold set's good for "fill the holes left by technic" use? Atm. I have only 3 technic sets and that's all the parts I have.- 114 replies

drakmin replied to drakmin's topic in LEGO Technic, Mindstorms, Model Team and Scale Modeling
Thanks for all comments! Really good points fallenangel. I'm trying to do the "big lines" first so I'm not filling holes at this moment. When I have a pleasing skeleton, I'll start filling and doing mechanics. I have already fixed the wing angle. It's interesting how most of the actual models have pretty low angle wings and most of the blueprints have the wings at almost 45 degrees.- 114 replies

I have 50 degree angle. Some blueprints have 45 degree angle and some have about 55 degree angle so I try to choose between these limits ;D- 114 replies

---------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------- 2014 UPDATE: ---------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------- Hi! Instructions for my Snowspeeder model are now available at mocplans.com Instructions are made by Eric Albrecht (Blakbird) and have 125 pages. Model itself has 2191 parts. I'll update this post with rebrickable url later when it's online. ----------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------- earlier 2014 update ----------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------- Hi, I have updated this model: ---------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------- 2014 UPDATE ends, original first post from now on -> ---------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------- Hi. After my first Technic x-wing MOC I'm tryint to build the rebel snowspeeder. (T-47 airspeeder) Speeder will be roughly in the same scale with the x-wing: Here are first photos of the T-47. Feel free to point out anything that looks off. I need to get more light gray parts as I had to use dark grey in wrong places ;D My reference photos show that even the models used in movies have wings in different angles when looked from the rear. I guess I'll use wing angle that fits the best with my parts. My plan is to have two joystick in cockpit. Other one to control the "ailerons" on top of the engines and the other one to control rear "gun". Don't know yet if the cabin hatch should be motorized or not. -drakmin Drakmin's youtube
